Why? They are quiet to listen to what the boys are singing, and toward the fourth minute they start clapping as a response. This was how the audience was before. :)

Comparing to an american audience? Just screaming and nobody can't hear the performance?

Think it's just a bit of a cultural difference there, as well as the age of the audience. Norwegians are more reserved, and unless you give them a drink to loosen up they often just enjoy the show quietly(and even then). Also the age and time this was filmed probably has to do with how dead quiet it was.
Ylvis was still pretty new, and their audience was often older. But you can hear by the clapping that the audience did enjoy it:)

Im Norwegian so i know what Im talking about and ofcourse i dont think you should make noises and ruin it for the performer, BUT if its a good show, make some noise, create an atmosphere. I do agree that the ylvis brothers were new but they had been doing a lot of shows aswell. A name that many people knew back then too. But its a cultural thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@bekhna1 Well I still stand by what I said. Your opinion is that making more noise is the best for the atmosphere. And I don't disagree. But this is still an older audience from some years back(which was Ylvis's audience at the time before they started getting a more diverse age crowd), and a Norwegian audience nonetheless lol
I have been to concerts where the American/English artists have tried to get the Norwegian crowd to be more loud and loose and it just hasn't worked. It's the default for us Norwegians unless the artist has attracted the more outgoing and/or younger crowd, or there is alcohol involved.
But I firmly believe the crowd was fine and enjoyed the show. Ylvis simply hadn't cultivated the audience they have today.
