The large black engine 13268 is a LMS Stanier Mogul or Crab recently returned to service at the SVR in April of this year . Thanks for the shots of the Western they are superb locos and are a firm favourite of mine .
Great video, that looks a beautifully restored Diesel. I had a model railway as a kid, had 3 Diesel shunters & a Hymek, Deltic, Sad Eyes & High speed train, but really preferred steamers. I lived near a Seaton Carew branch line ( near hartlepool ) so loads of heavy diesels, day & night from the steel works & cement works, but never appreciated them
Good stuff Ricky, I like the steam engines but I have a soft spot for the DMU and the big Diesels. I do get why Steam engines are loved so much though, it’s the romance and nostalgia of a steam engine, but like yourself they are “before my time”.
Haven’t a clue bout these things but Ive a tiny bit of an appreciation for them there engines thanks to you 🤦🏻♂
@@andyblake1849 I’m not up on steam at all but they are nice to look at.

Ahh cheers Steam isn’t my forte… tbh I’m not a Western fan, not my era/area and I’ve never rated hydraulic engines

@@badbooks476 I’m definitely more diesels than steam myself
