  • Mackie’s Thump Series loudspeakers have long had a special place in the hearts of DJs, bands and sound engineers alike for their amazing sound and reliability. The latest generation of Thump has arrived and is more powerful than ever. The full series includes the Thump212 and 215 models, the Bluetooth-enhanced Thump212XT and 215XT models, and the Thump115S and 118S subwoofers.
The latest Thump loudspeakers deliver 1,400 watts of Class-D power, making them the loudest Thump models yet. The new amp, compression driver and waveguide result in improved low frequency extension and overall clarity while the switchable feedback elimination and music ducking help keep your set running smoothly. Carefully designed with portability in mind, each new Thump loudspeaker is built with a light weight polypropylene body while the ergonomic handles on the 115S and 118S subwoofers make transport easier than ever.
If you’re looking for even more features, look no further than ThumpXT. Four different voicing modes (Music, Live, Club, Monitor) offer even more control of your sound, while a switchable “Outdoor Mode” re-voices the speakers to offer you the same performance inside or out. Bluetooth connectivity offers a range of new features, including wireless music streaming and further customization and tone tweaking via the Thump Connect 2 App.
Mackie senior product specialist Brad Gagné gives us an in-depth analysis of all the new and exciting features of Thump at Artform Studios in Los Angeles’ Highland Park neighborhood.
The featured artist in this video is DJ and producer Val Fleury, with her track, “La Ciudad." Known for future-forward sounds with accents from around the world, Val’s stand-out DJ sets artfully fuse the classic and the underground, bringing together an intersection of music from house to techno.

How would you connect these to a mixer for stereo output?

Does the FB elimination work if your mic is plugged into a mixer & not directly into the speaker?

It doesn't seem like it takes much to get the green signal/overload light to come on on the back of the thump 215xt. The light will come on at a relatively low volume with the volume knob all the way up and the gain close to the minimum. By chance does that light change color to red if it gets too high? I don't want to burn up the amp to find out.

I don't have this Mackie speaker but I've tried a Bose S1 Pro where the light changes from green to red to indicate clipping. Green just means the speaker recognizes there is a signal coming through. I will let someone with more knowledge of this specific speaker chime in, but I *think* it's standard in the industry that green means good signal, red means clipping.

@@Chosen1PR I forgot that I had posted this on here but I did already confirm with one of mackie's tech support guys that there is both a green and red led in that spot.

Lot of promotion about Mackies but most of the buyers have problems and they say that Mackies are low quality speakers.

heard these being used at a fete the other weekend, Not impressed. bass sounded horrible and too much top end. I shall carry on using my faithful bose system. better sound balance through out the entire range from bass to top end.
