Doris Day must’ve like the song king Chanticleer because she sings it in either the 1951 movie by the light of the silvery Moon which takes place in the 19 teens or it’s follow up on Moonlight Bay. Both movies based on the Pinrod and Sam novels of the period. She repeated her singing king Chanticleer when she made the 1961 or two movie please don’t eat the daisies which was a big hit for her as well. You might enjoy the two Penrod movies because they’re filled with the music from about 1900 until 1918. They were so fun movies to watch for so many reasons.

Regarding your next theme: How about marches since it will be the the month of March?! They certainly figure heavily into the history of ragtime...

Well hello, I AM listenning to this excellent Concert for the first time, thank you so much.. actually, I have a suggestion as an answer to your question about the 3 step dance you played, thinking it should be a Waltz.... When I Heard it, I instantly recognized a Polka... A 3 step dance, suite popular, even before the Waltz in Europe...Rachmaninov even composed a piece named : Italian Polka ... The Waltz has an emphasis on the first Beat, whereas the Polka has a strong Beat on the second Beat, where the dancer makes a small jump (hop) and a quarter turn... Hope you get to read this even After one year ...I had 3 of your last 4 concerts live and enjoy it so much thank you so much Yesterday night I enjoyed so much Spring Time in the Rockies

Cam Calloway in the 2930s sang a song called Ballin the Jack and the lyrics I believe are instructions to the dance. The last line ends with the refrain”that’s what you call Ballin the Jack.”. It was supposed to sound a bit “naughty”.you can find it on you tube.

As an artistic competitive skater, would think that to be a 138 waltz or a 3 step. 😮
