A few bites but kept getting hung up on the coral. Plus the 3 piece rod I was using kept coming apart when casting. So me n my son went to Marina n paid for a charter. $300 bucks for 4 hours.
Hi how are you? Congratulations for the video is amazing! Can you send me the location of the first bridge where you fished? I'm going to Mexico in February and I'd like to try this spot! Thanks
Love this! Been watching you for years now and awesome to see you do what your love on your vacation. If you ever want a fishing buddy on Lake Michigan or for fall/spring trout, I’m down!
I am curious as to why you were not allowed to fish the shore in front of the hardrock hotel. Do they own the beach? I ask because I am from the UK and in a month or so I have a two-week holiday staying in a beach front hotel in Cancun. I was planning on taking a small travel rod and a few lures. Will I not be allowed to fish from the beach in front of the hotel I am staying at, or was it just because you were not staying at the Hardrock that they stopped you? Any information would be great as I don't want to take my gear if I am not allowed to do a bit of fishing.
Excuse the late reply. Most of the hotels are have security monitoring the beach 24-7. You can try. I already knew it was not allowed but I still tried. The locals told me they usually go fishing under the bridges.
I asked them why I couldnt fish off the beach in some areas and they said they dont want anyone getting hooked - having hooked a boyscout by the ear in my younger years I unstand thier concern ....
Thanks for the video. I took my travel rod and fished at the beach hotel few times in early morning. Caught a barracuda and few needlefish. I don't know why the security guy is stopping you.
Both rods are Magreel Telescopic rods which I bought on Amazon for around $20. I was using the 8.86ft and 6.89ft rods. The 8.86ft rod if good for surf fishing and you can cast a 1oz lure. I personally wouldn't cast anything over 3/4oz to prevent the tips from breaking. The rods are good for the money, but they need to be handled with care. The do pack really good in a book bag or luggage. I took two rods with me just in case one of them broke.
Did you carry on your reel? I'm going to fly with my gear soon and I've always been told taking fishing line on a plane is a no no, especially braid because technically it could be used as a weapon.
I was in cancun and almost found it impossible to fish anywhere by hotel zones, I’ve been watching videos where you can surf fish in PV and in the background you can see hotels, im a bit confused.

I'm getting ready for those kings. This year might be an early season for them.

My brother I'm getting ready to schedule a trip to Cancun and staying at hard Rock.how far is that place where u caught barracuda?
Did you carry on your reel? I'm going to fly with my gear soon and I've always been told taking fishing line on a plane is a no no, especially braid because technically it could be used as a weapon.
I had both my reels in my checked luggage for this trip. On other flights I've had my reels in my carryon bags with no issues. Good Luck
Who told you that stopped things? Braided line is a weapon. I always bring my spinning reels with me and never ever got any issues.
Where was this at?
My brothers and I are here now but can’t seem to find a spot that’s not privately owned
It's called puente Nizuk. Towards the airport. Ask any local, taxi or bus driver. They'll direct you
Do you know if you need a fishing permit? I will be flying in next month to Cancun as well
You don't need a license. Thanks
You know there was a big ass sign stating that fishing is forbidden there, right ?
I know. Thanks! I also know that is where all the local go fishing.
What rod do you use

Do you need a fishing licence in Cancun? Where can you buy one please
You don't need a license. You just need to find a place to fish. I recommend asking the locals including taxi drivers.
