I do understand that in certain nations that there are police departments, apart from the military police, that are militarized. But when you have to militarize the majority of your police departments, that is pretty sad.
Those bear cats are retired military vehicles that the army basically gives away to police departments to use as SWAT vehicles. They’re useful for dealing with hostage situations where officers can get closer without endangering the officers’ lives. And SWAT teams are just essentially more highly trained cops that can deal with armed subjects especially barricaded subjects much more easily.
