I'd add to change the mode to CMYK, as you can't print every color in the RGB spectrum. Would suck if people made the most neon looking stick art and it's all dull and not what expected when it's printed
Awesome vid, I haven't used Photoshop/Gimp in years so this helped me a bunch, thanks! Recently got a TE2+ and was gonna try making some custom art. The Ryu SFV TE2+ is black, white, and red, so I was thinking about doing a Vash/Tri-Gun art and a second one for Baiken/GG Xrd rev2.
I work as a printer and I can tell you that pretty much any kind of paper will work. What I look for, when printing art for my stick is that the paper is a bit heavier like 160g/m2, then i pick glossy or matte paper. There are alot of options to choose from, so pick one that you like
Ctrl + T BTW for anyone who couldn't figure out how he copied (select then Ctrl + C) then paste it in the layer (Ctrl + V) then Ctrl-T to enter "free transform" then you can move it resize it and when done hit enter.
Holy shit this is what I needed I've been trying to find a guide to help me with customizing although I don't have Photoshop I think gimp would do. Thank you for the video my man you should post a 2022 version in teaching more in depth stuff. And I wanna know if when i want to add my own artwork for the design would it better to just draw directly on the platform or woukd it better to shift them to png
Seeing as you asked for this 1 year ago i think you might have found out already, but just in case. You can find some really nice looking and free brushes on www.deviantart.com
Would've been helpful if you made this using GIMP instead, most people wouldn't buy photoshop to take a crack at fightstick art for the first time, and people who already do fightstick art wouldn't watch this video anyway and already own photoshop!
Do I really have to cut all of the buttons out and stuff? Because Im very bad at ps. Can I not just put my artwork into the sport where it says "Add Artwork here"? Because it doesn't say anything in the instructions that I have to cut all of the wholes myself. I thought they will do this with the machine anyway. I mean I speak of the "grey lines" on the template. EDIT: With other words, I just want my artwork on it, I don't want to make anything fancy like you did with the button design and stuff.
OK I have one question though. I have Qnaba Dragon fight stick and I use the template provided by focus attack and when I want to print it out on A2 it gets too big even though I don't let it auto scale. Just make a tutorial on how to print a Qanba Dragon artwork please.
This guy seriously needs to focus on what works when doing fightstick art. Swear to god I'm halfway through the vid and all he's done so far is complain about what other people do instead of just saying what to properly do. Making the video shorter by specifically focusing on what to do as opposed to what not what to do would cut to the chase and not waste the viewer's time as much.

Great Tutorial bro and thank you
I'm a photoshop newbie. Glad to see a basic walk-through for this. I'm going to attempt a simple akatsuki cloud pattern with my gamer tag on it.
Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
