I wonder if you could use those empty beer cans for say, a topping for bird house roofs, or for the back board on the bar? Maybe save them up for an outdoor table top over boards or a large tray to top the tables? It is easy to cut the aluminum cans with ordinary scissors. Cut the ends off, cut up one side and flatten them.

Considering that your house and most of your furniture is made out of wood... I wonder... do you not have any trouble with moth, termites or eburios ? I have a beach house in Lima, Peru, and these insects do alot of damage to my doors mainly, in spite of all the insecticides I may use... I tried the japanese technique of burning the wood, or spreading pentaclorophenol and painting with the hardest marine enamels available, but the plague does not go away...

Fortunately, the cabin is free of insect damage. Perhaps the stilt structure is working.
