- Rising star pianist Arsha Kaviani took one of classical music’s most formidable pieces of music, Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2, and set himself a solo challenge on a mind-blowing symphonic scale.
We spoke to Arsha backstage at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall, in October 2023, where the young British-Iranian pianist took to the stage to perform the second and third movements of the concerto, which was voted No.1 in the Classic FM Hall of Fame 2023.

Personally, I prefer the full orchestration BUT what he did to fill the effect in when playing solo is amazing. Very talented! 🎹

You talk. Yet your performance was an insult to Rachmaninoff. Not only me but any professional pianist would agree with this. What’s ClassicFM doing these days? Ran out of ideas so they have you instead? Your performance was a filled with disappointments. You slowed down when passages got difficult, you missed so many MANY details at the beginning then you showed off some physical gestures to hide it as if we can’t notice it. So, talk less and practice more. Your talking doesn’t match with your playing at all. AT. ALL.
