IMPORTANT! VOTE FOR THE NEXT REACTION SERIES! I want some input from you guys on what the next series will be! Leave in the comments your recommendations. A few things to consider: - I'll be watching the English Dub if it has one (Easier for Reactions) - Larger studio shows will have more cut out of them due to copyright (When I did Solo Leveling I had to cut out a ton) - My favorite genre is romantic subtext and my least is Shonen but feel free to inquire in the comments - No Ecchi/Hentai - Preferably 1-2 core shows (12-25 Episodes) - I'll give bias to shows that I haven't seen, but I don't mind revisiting one I have! I was thinking maybe reacting to "VTuber Legend" since I can probably provide a lot of VTuber insight! One thing I do want to note is that I will be uploading Arcane reactions bonce Spice and Wofl is finished. If you came from my main channel (@itzLeviVT) you might remember I uploaded Arcane season 1 on that channel. I'll be reuploading season 1 here to get ready for season 2! Please remember it was from a time where I was new to making reaction videos so it is heavily censored. I'm working on getting my same group of friends again for season 2!
I've got the same reading on this scene as you. Holo, who often has a quick answer/plan to a difficult situation really does not know what to say or do here. So she hypes up her own persona to reassure herself that she will eventually come up with a solution in time. Lawrence being a sneaky asshole is practically best Lawrence. When he's confdentally fooling someone he does it so charmingly nonchalantl. He is picking up a lot of Holo behaviour. Elsa's little bit here is so interesting. She IS a devout believer. Beeing hit with the reality of "otherwordly" creatures existing beyond your own doctrine surely would be unstabilizing for a religious person. But what defines a god? I really would not call Holo that, albeit her being somewhat of an interesting entity. Brewer lady is basically this arc's Marc. If only the villagers tapped more into her persona they could turn it into a franchise.
Ah I'm glad I was reading it right then! I really like how they handled Elsa in this episode because I think anything she does can be seen as a real reaction. There's no like reaction she "should" be having since it's not a situation that your average person would experience in this world. Makes for a lot of creative freedom on what to do with her. We love a Marc character!
“I hope in the next episode they don't have to go back and solve the issue.” Well… about that, I'll just say that if it were solely up to Holo and Lawrence, they would likely be pretty much at peace with their decision to leave everything behind and flee. I really like that you were able to point out that even though Elsa doesn't have many reasons to be fond of the people from the village, the responsibility to take care of them, which she inherited from Father Franz, represents a large part of the construction of her character's conflict, besides her crisis of faith, of course. I also think you correctly read that scene where Lawrence and Holo talked about what will happen to the future of their relationship. In fact, I would go a little further and say that is clearly a callback to the conversation they had on their first night in Kumersun (episode 14). There, they addressed the transience of their journey and their plans for the future for the first time. At that time, parting ways at the end of the journey was the most logical answer, and the result was a crack in their bond; they immediately put physical distance between themselves and changed the subject to avoid hurting each other further. Here, having to address the transience of their journey and plans for the future for the second time, they no longer have a definitive answer, so they shorten the physical distance between themselves and choose to remain silent instead. Btw, since you're accepting suggestions for the next reaction series, have you ever watched Mahoutsukai no Yome? It's a very good series too; I would say it has some characteristics very similar to SnW and Frieren; it could be a very cool alternative for the future, after you finish VTuber Legend.
Oh you know what, it is really similar to the episode 14 conversation! It's liked a more cleaned up we're on each others side conversation which I think probably hits harder because of it's set up in 14. I think maybe even though I didn't recognize it was similar, subconsciously it made the scene more impactful. Magus Bride is on my list! I haven't seen it but I am aware of the series! Back when I used to work as a content writer, seasonal anime was something I covered on occasion and I remember considering Magus Bride, but it barely missed the cut. This might be a good time to revisit it o: Just to go off track a little bit, but I really like this suggestion. Fall 2017 is one of the anime seasons that I hold close to me. I had a rough first year of university in 2016 and was watching more anime at the time for escapism. I remember specifically fall 2017 being a ton of shows that left an impact on me. Black Clover was my first long running shonen that I was caught up on while airing, Blend S where Hideri went on to be my first cosplay, Girls Last Tour was amazing and a big sleeper for the season for the community, Just Because was an anime that I thought was mid watching it but found it incredible like 6 months after I finished it, Sho-bitch ended up being one of my favorite comedy of all time, A sisters all you need was a guilty pleasure enjoyment, Kings Game I watched with friends and we all thought it was horrendous but it was fun to make fun of, Our love is 10cm apart was a cute romance that I got upset it didnt give us more, Love is like a cocktail was a cute short that I looked forward to every week, and Animegataris was one of my first review pieces I got to write. In a way it kind of feels like Magus Bride is kind of the last piece to Fall 2017... I also think it would do me some good to revisit that season, Thank you for the suggestion (and sorry for yapping about my experiences)!
@@LeviLair Lol, np, I kind of understand how you feel! For me, it was probably 2015 the year that I enjoyed the most. It was when I finally started watching the seasonal anime simultaneously with their weekly release. That year, there were so many amazing titles that left a really strong mark on me: Death Parade - Durarara!! - Dog Days - Dungeon ni Deai - Plastic Memories - Kekkai Sensen - Oregairu - Fate UBW - Yamada-kun - Nisekoi - Charlotte - Overlord - Gate - Shimoneta - Rokka no Yuusha - To LOVE-Ru - One Punch - Noragami - Rakudai Kishi - Utawarerumono, and many others... Man… I really miss times like those; it's no exaggeration when I say that among my top 10 favorite series, 5 were released just in 2015. Also, I'm not saying that anime has become bad over time; on the contrary, I dare say that there has even been an improvement in quality and diversity, even if we consider all the problems the animation industry faces nowadays. However, I can no longer stay engaged and have the same experiences that I had before, but that's probably the downside of growing up and getting older...
@AgentLF yea I feel the same way. From watching 80% of a season while airing to a handful of shows a year. Charlotte, my beloved, love that series. Lot of great choices!
