it took me several days to learn to control the muscles of soft palate. Once I learnt to engage them, all the balloon exercises, including the equalization tools like Octopus, worked like a breeze.

Thanks for sharing Sergei. Very useful exercises and videos! I have one question, for the third exercise, to control the air without using my fingers. Do I have to stop the air from the balloon by closing the lips of my mouth or by using my tongue or my soft palate? I haven't figured it out. Thanks in advance!

thanks for this video, i watched many videos about freediving, but never heard about those exercices, it seems to be very helpful...i have problèmes with glottis controle when spearfishing, oxygen escape from my nose and bubbles comes from the mask, i guess this is a glottis coltrole failure

Air can go out form my nose, but can not fast as you, and with sounds like snore. Is it normal? And if I do this exercise more than 3time , I feel a little bit pain in my throat.

    • @KAIZENFREEDIVING

Sounds are normal, it is a part of the process. Though with the practice you learn how to do it without a sound (better soft palate control)

can we use the ballon when learning hands free equalisatons, exactelly for knowing the position of the soft palet, by not using our tongue as a piston, because the air comes from the ballon. and pinching our noise as frenzel, for hearing the clicketis ???
