Hyping up switch 2 is great for views but it's fantasy. Switch 2 is coming March 2026, holidays 2025 if you're lucky. You'll get a teaser reveal early 2025 and games revealed a year from now. Switch has Metroid Beyond for 2025 and they'll do a price cut to clear inventory and push old games.
Yall are such babies!! And I'm not insulting you, I just mean you were TWELVE when the Switch trailer dropped?? I was in my 30s lol. Your first Nintendo was either DS, 3DS, or Wii huh? My first Nintendo was the NES!! I'm so damn old ugh. But I can't wait for Switch 2. And I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks Z-A will be cross gen, everyone else is like, "No that can't be, it said Switch in the video we saw!", but I'm like, first of all that video they showed doesn't show anything about the game, and one, if it IS cross gen, they couldn't show the logo for the new console because that would be revealing it before Nintendo, and two, that video was months ago and we haven't seen anything since, I think they CAN'T show a trailer with gameplay until Nintendo announces Switch 2, because gameplay might reveal something about Switch 2. So I'm just strongly inclined to believe that it's cross gen. And honestly, I have to disagree that the launch title will be a new 3D Mario, only because they've announced a lot of Mario games this past year, and two, because Mario Odyssey didn't launch with the first Switch, the first Switch came out in March, and Mario Odyssey came out in October. I mean it's possible and they are overdue for a 3D Mario, but because of the past, I doubt it will be a day 1 title. And I think there's going to be way more titles launching with Switch 2, not first party, but I'd guess 6-8. I wouldn't be surprised if FFXIV was announced for Switch 2, because Yoshi P pretty much already said it was coming to Nintendo next gen, so that could be one of them. I'm personally hoping that all the FFs for PS4 five get sent to Switch 2. I'm a huge FF fan, with the exception of 16, and honestly if Nintendo starts getting FF games, I'm never buying another brand of video game console. I think it's coming out fairly early next year, I'm not even discounting March, so I'm thinking March-May. I mean why would Furukawa announce a Switch successor on Twitter in May, only for it not to come out until November 2025? Plus letting the Switch become almost a 9 year old console? I seriously doubt that's happening. My personal hope is September reveal and March release. But who knows, we literally know nothing for sure because Nintendo hasn't revealed it. All we know is what we've heard from Manufacturers. But I have higher hopes for release games than you guys do, but I feel like, in order to really showcase to current Switch owners why it's worth it to upgrade, they are going to have to show and release a lot more than two games, otherwise most people are going to wait for Switch 2s game lineup to build up before buying one. If they want to sell millions of consoles when it releases, they're going to have to announce/show way more than 2 games. And if they want to build upon the success of the Switch, I would say that they should release a game every month of next year, either first or 3rd. Because we have fan calls for CoD and GTA, I personally don't play those types of games, but I would LOVE at least 3 or 4 major RPGs on Switch 2. The only game other than an RPG I would buy, would be AC. Also, if FFXIV DOES come to Switch 2, I hope the only requirement to play is NSO, because I have it on my PS5, but it requires PS plus to play, and PS plus is way to fucking expensive. I have the family subscription of NSO, and it's less than HALF the price of PS Plus. So I hope if FFXIV comes to Switch 2, it doesn't have a requirement of more than NSO to play
My parents grew up with the NES in the 80s! I grew up on DS Wii, and the tail end of GameCube eras. I was 17 when the switch was officially announced and I’m 25 now. In that time, I graduated high school, moved across states, met and got together with my boyfriend , graduated college, had my first career job, wrote 2/3 of a script, and I’m taking the Bar the same month the switch 2 is rumored to be announced. I’m really excited, but it’s crazy to think that I’ll have my own place, be living with my partner, and have a career in law by the time I can actually get a switch 2! Oh, how much simpler it was when I was just a high schooler watching the original October reveal trailer.🥹
