The Rat Temple fact once aired in the Discovery Channel as a documentary. They said , "Though it seems unhealthy, but still no one has ever been reported of falling sick because of rats. "
Also no rats Goes outside the temple premises and mingling with other rats outside. Also they fend off any rats that try to intrude. Still nothing can't be taken for granted
That’s cause people can’t make the necessary connection due to their blind faith, if they fall sick it’s quite obvious they aren’t going to blame the rats for it, and who’s gonna keep the record of rat related sickness cases.
the toe rings is not just for wedding purpose and many indians dont know this, the 2nd toe has a acupressure point which strengths the uterus when worn by the ring.

Actually dance was not always a defining characteristic of Bollywood movies. During the 40s and 50s there was no such thing as dancing, nature was used to convey the feelings of a song or some funny way of walking( used by Raj Kapoor), only classical dances were used whenever there was a classical song( like in Kohinoor of Dilip Kumar). Dancing came into the film industry with rise of The "SHAMMI KAPOOR( brot'her of Raj Kapoor) in the 1960s.The first dance ever performed by an actor was twist form of dance which was done by Shammi Kapoor in the film 'DIL DEKE DEKHO'(1959). The most famous incident by which dancing came to be associated with songs was with the blockbuster film 'JUNGLEE(1960)' of Shammi Kapoor. In this film the title track portrayed Shammi Kapoor as jumping/sliding from the top of a 4 inch thick ice hill and then getting up to lip sync the song and also dance to show crazy happiness of being alive after going through a blizzard. This became the trend and in the 1960s to 70s Shammi Kapoor ruled the film industry alongside the top most actors of that time. Later through Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra this trend passed down until it became a defining characteristic of the bollywood during the 1990s and 2000s and so continues.

9:41 You should not share food with any rats but you have to understand koby those are not any rats, those are sacred ones. There is a society in India which believes that even animals are the part of Gods now in different regions people worship different animals like snakes, elephants, rats, peacocks, crows, and many more. It's not surprising you guys didn't know that because some parts of the world thinks animals are for lunch.
First of all Bollywood produces around 364 movies per year and out of which at most 6-7 movies are remake of South Movies. Most of that too is remade by South director himself.
Tower of Silence is a cremation or burial ground for Parsis. According to the customs, when a Parsi dies, the body is brought to the tower of silence and laid under the open sky to be fed upon by scavenger birds; mostly vultures. The uppermost row near the wall is for male bodies, middle one for females and the innermost is for children. The well in between, also known as “Bhandar” is where the bones go. They are left there for a few days to dry under the scorching sun before removal.
There’s also an issue with the name Tollywood. Bengalis call their regional film industry that name bc the studios actually ARE SITUATED IN AN AREA OF KOLKATA CALLED TOLLYGUNGE. But I’ve heard the Tamil film industry (a hugely successful regional film industry) has also dubbed itself Tollywood. So we’ve got two Tollywoods, I guess.
Few things xD The toe ring is another part of the jewelry a woman wears after her marriage. It's not the "wedding ring". We do have engagement rings here. And the bride and groom exchange them infront of everyone (almost like a Christian marriage) to officially seal the deal and to begin wedding preparations
Yes Actually plenty of traditions are there in india They just pick up the unique tradition, even if majority is not following it, they display it as widely followed tradition I mean come on, many of our indians are unaware of such traditions here Many things to explore here
In India every 100 km you will see gradual change in language, customs ,etc and sometimes the so called experts sometimes tell half the fact which makes it look odd as it is out of context( due to not knowing the whole thing ), it is like when you hear guns are common in us and make comment on the fact without knowing historical significance of guns (generational after generation they have kept it) in their country
Zoroastrian feed the dead to Vultures and Rodents.... But now a days it's hard to find vultures they are next to extinction. So it's hard for parsis to maintain tower of silence
In India every state has its own culture, language and tradition. So in each state one will find tradition and ritual of it's own. We cannot say these tradition are the same for whole of India. It's all regional.
Fun fact : you wont find any rats outside of karni mata temple in that village. Also only some people "share" the food, 99% only feeds and not eat the same.
When two loving hearts decide to marry each other their parents will stop them and choose some other person and blackmail emotionally until they marry them. And that's another fact well a sad one
The thing about "Towers of Silence" is they put the dead people on the terraces and then by "forces of nature" they basically mean they are kinda eaten by vultures, yeah Seems bizarre but it is what it is.
Yeah, that's correct. The one I know is on Malbar Hill in Mumbai, which is surrounded by ample vegetation. And since only Parsis follow this tradition and their population is very small, they rarely had the problem of having multiple deaths in a short period of time. So no Achara, it wouldn't smell as bad.
@@prasad1381 you are right, but since vultures are almost extinct from indian skies, they are no longer practicing this custom much, instead they are using electric crematorium, so yeah it wouldn't smell at all 😀
Vultures are cleanliest creatures unlike many other in the world. They eat all the flesh and just leave the bones clean. That way the atmosphere won't get disturbed by decomposed bodies. It's shame vultures are declining.
I'm from Rajasthan and the rat temple is 6 hrs far from my house, and what bright side said is almost true not all people share the food ,just some few old person do that, we just feed the rats and one more fun fact if you see a white rat among the rats, you'll be blessed by Karni Mata 😁
18:45 Tower of Silence = the body is left on top of the tower, so the body will be taken care by the vultures - the tower will be reused, mostly the bones which are left behind will be cleared - brought down, thrown into moving bodies of water, rivers or sea
Gordon Ramsay tried his luck on bull surfing during his "great Indian escape" special. And maybe some trains mostly in Mumbai are crowded, but most of the long distance trains are pretty and you don't want to miss that experience according most of tourists abroad..
Rats are actually considered holy because it is the vehicle of Ganesha not because of legend of Karni Mata. The rats are considered holy throughout INDIA only because of Ganesha the temple exists only in that area and so the legend of Karni Mata only spread in that particular region.
I want to inform everyone including Jaby and Achara that different place in India have different -different culture and tradition. There is a society in India which believes that even animals are the part of Gods now in different regions people worship different animals like snakes, elephants, rats, peacocks, crows, and many more. It's not surprising you guys didn't know that because some parts of the world thinks animals are for lunch.
Bollywood produces around 1200 films a year in which half of them are remakes of South Indian films.
First of all Bollywood produces around 364 movies per year and out of which at most 6-7 movies are remake of South Movies. Most of that too is remade by South director himself.
@@Khushi-ns4ue That's not true..

Gtk!!
Tamil film industry called Kollywood.Because most of the Studios were situated in Kodsmbakkam.chennai 17.
@@jayanthisuresh7215 I thought it was called Tollywood. I stand corrected, thanks.

The toe ring is another part of the jewelry a woman wears after her marriage. It's not the "wedding ring".
We do have engagement rings here. And the bride and groom exchange them infront of everyone (almost like a Christian marriage) to officially seal the deal and to begin wedding preparations
Yes
Actually plenty of traditions are there in india
They just pick up the unique tradition, even if majority is not following it, they display it as widely followed tradition
I mean come on, many of our indians are unaware of such traditions here
Many things to explore here
In India every 100 km you will see gradual change in language, customs ,etc and sometimes the so called experts sometimes tell half the fact which makes it look odd as it is out of context( due to not knowing the whole thing ), it is like when you hear guns are common in us and make comment on the fact without knowing historical significance of guns (generational after generation they have kept it) in their country
After watching so many Thai lakorns and BLs ,feels like I personally know Achara and feel happy whenever she talk about Thailand

Well said!
The thing about "Towers of Silence" is they put the dead people on the terraces and then by "forces of nature" they basically mean they are kinda eaten by vultures, yeah
Seems bizarre but it is what it is.
@@prasad1381 you are right, but since vultures are almost extinct from indian skies, they are no longer practicing this custom much, instead they are using electric crematorium, so yeah it wouldn't smell at all 😀
@@jasikasaini1932 Fair enough
@Beast Draken wrong post dude. Nobody here is justifying rat temple. We are talking about tower of silence 🙄🙄🙄

At tower of silence, they leave the dead body to be eaten by Vultures.
In a way they're helpful to other creatures even after dying.

Jaby's face while watching Holy Rat story was like as if Achara just told him that it's over. Ok sorry for that Jaby.
There is such a diversity in India that in some places the trandition is completely different between two districts(A district is a type of administrative division that, in some countries, is managed by local government. Across the world, areas known as "districts" vary greatly in size, spanning regions, several municipalities, subdivisions of municipalities.).

The way Achara understand and explain things to Jaby, shows Achara is more mature and has more knowledgeable about how world works than jaby 😂
Achara is more sensible than knowledgeable...i mean she feels and understands people & culture.
" The wedding ring on toe " is misrepresented. Wedding rings are worn on fingers , just like in any other country.
In south India married women wear silver ornaments on second toes . It is believed to protect the woman's health.
Meri mummy bhi pehanti hai North India se
Not only in South but it is practice in Western India also especially in Maharashtra and Goa.The toe ring is put not by the husband but by the brother of bride just before the marriage. And it is not only put in one toe but but it is put in 2,3,4th toe during some festivals after marriage .
Not just in South but in North India too.
Thank you all , guys . I am from south India. I didn't know this tradition is followed in many parts of our country. Shows the unity of our Indian culture.

Silver's strong antimicrobial properties help to fight infection, heal wounds, as well as prevent cold and flu. It also improves one's energy level, creates a calming effect and helps to maintain the balance in the mood. Hence why our elders forbid us from wearing gold below the waist.
Achara is really inteligent. Sometimes she makes jaby lookes like a fool😁
Achara is more in touch with her Thai descent which has partially been inspired by the Indian culture. To her, its more easier while Jaby has no significant touch with his Asian side and hence views everything through the glasses of his western descent.
But yeah, Achara has impeccable grasping capacity.
When whole world was suffering from plague. This area never had it. Karni mata temple is very sacred
1. Fun fact, the town did not have a rat infestation or plague ever since the temple was built. One more thing you do not see is baby rats. That felt strange to me. I was there for baby rats.
2. The smallest pig was news to me.
3. Regarding gold. Touching something with a leg is disrespectful. Gold is revered.
4. Susruta Samhita is kind of rediscovered.
5. The towers of silence earlier depended on vultures. It is sad our vulture populations have come down.

re the Towers of Silence - The Parsis or Zoroastrians, lay their dead within these towers where large vultures will come and peck away at the bodies. The skeleton left behind would then be collected and crushed to powder.
