Alegría is the nostalgic story of a monarchy that has lost its king. The Old Birds, who resist change and cling to old values, hover around Mr Fleur, a tricky and power-hungry man who proclaims himself king. Fleur and the Old Birds, with their outdated ideas, struggle to maintain power in a world they no longer understand. On the other hand, the Bronx, the strong and confident next generation, embrace modernity and strive to topple their oppressors to build a flourishing new society. I kinda miss the accordion from the old composition, but it's so interesting how this version is more dramatic, maybe more intense, as the previous one felt more intimate. I'm really curious to hear the rest of the soundtrack and see the other changes, but I'm enjoying this version
At first, I wasn't sure if I liked the new remake of Vai Vedrai, but it has definitely grown on me and now I'm in love with this version! I'm so excited to see how the other songs will turn out!
SAME. I was like.... aww HELL NAW. At first, but then after a second listen I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Love it now. Much more dramatic and sensual. And elegant.

This version of Vai Vedrai and the new costumes are very diferent from the original show, but it is still amazing. I'm excited to see how the new show is going to be.
I say this adds a whole new layer to the song. The original was haunting and was like a warning. To best put it into words the original would be in the first act of a musical, foreshadowing a event. This update/remix would be in the second act after the event occurred; acting like a "hey look you messed up big time". This is just how I see it; I looked too much into the lyrics I guess haha.

Ahora que ya estrenaron el show. En general la banda sonora perdió su magia. Todo suena muy pop, eliminaron los instrumentos mas importantes, y ni hablar del show... Ya no es ALEGRIA.

I love them both this one and the older version! It's two different shows, two different times. They need to innovate a bit people won't pay for the show if its the same... the acts changed as well because the circus world evolved in every domain like the performace of the artists, techologies, the decor possibilities and also the music :)
In my vision the people who will watch Alegria have already had an experience before, and they want to watch the original version of it, I grew up watching the DVD and my dream is watch the original version, I'm really disappointed with that, I'm trying to open my mind but it's getting really hard to do it, when I saw the costumes and the characters turning in another way it makes me feel sad. I really hope that I'm wrong, and I really hope u guys bring Alegria to Brazil.

Been a fan of Alegria since I was a kid! Almost saw it once but I ended up putting myself in a hospital the day of the show haha. Cant wait for the new tour!

This is not the original Alegria. It's a brand new show paying homage to the original show, so yes thing will change and some will be brand new.
They even changed the sub title to be "In A New Light" cause I think a lot of fans were thinking it was going to be just a remount instead of a complete redesign. From what I have seen they are keeping the same story and context, however they're reworking the circus routines and elements, and also completely re imagining the design. I think a lot of people are nervous. The thing that makes me nervous is that a completely new company is working in conjunction with Cirque. And most times corporate money minded businessmen get involved with the arts a lot of the artistic quality gets compromised. I'm really hoping this new version of Alegria is done with the same artistic integrity as the original was.

Fabio Comelli Cirque du Soleil shows are in a language called Cirquish. It is based off of different languages, including Italian. Some songs are closer to real life languages than others. Vai Vedrai’s Cirquish is incredibly similar to Italian, but there are still a few differences.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see this show live twice! The first was at the Beau Rivage when it was the resident show when the casino first opened and then again right before the tour ended. I’m very curious about this new version.

I´m deceptionated with the music, alegria it´s not alegre that they have been years ago.....
OMG I was 100% positive this was Francesca Gagnon who recorded this song as a favor to Cirque for the new show. But now I realize it’s the Black Singer that’s singing this song in this recording.

Cirque du Soleil mixes languages their shows to create something that is recognizable, but not exactly tied to any one language. Corteo, for example, is full of pseudo-italian. Volta has some English and germanic-inspired words.

Mi tambien. Ademas, la cantora original, señora Gagnon, ha hecho una otra interpretacíon, con René Dupéré, el compositor, tocando el píano. Es tan bueno porque su voz es tan bonita que en la primera interpretacíon. Con solamente píano, es más personal.

A little disappointed...I really loved the original version with the accordion and especially the vocalising and strings part in the middle! But this is growing on me too. No matter...I still love you, Cirque Du Soleil and will be opened to your remakes.

I prefer the original version too, with the melancholic ambiance provided by strings and musical saw. I also love a new version which Mrs. Gagnon has recorded accompanied only by René Dupéré playing the piano. It's really good and Mrs. Gagnon's voice is still beautiful !

Creo que perdió dramatismo ésta versión. Entiendo que el chiste es renovar el show, pero parte de la experiencia es la música compuesta por Duperé. En este intento de modernizar el soundtrack, no creo que haya captado la esencia del show.

Horrible. Vai Vedrai was not crafted as a techno piece and it does not work as one. If you're going to change things, then it is not Alegria. It is a new, different show and shouldn't bear the same name
