Do you think the Bible can deceive you?

  • Has someone told you, "You can't read the Bible too much?" That is what I was told by the Amish community when I started reading and studying the Bible. I was told it will deceive me if I do read it too much. In the video, I describe how the Bible says the opposite, that we shall meditate on God's Word so that we will know the truth. I do mention my dad in the video, and I want to make sure to state that I love and respect my dad, no matter what he believes. Although we do not follow the Amish lifestyle and Amish culture, we do love the people.

Excellent. An evangelist I've watched on TV since 1987 always told the people watching, to not take what he says as the truth. To go to your Bible, and read and study what God has said about it. Finding out if what he (the evangelist) has told us is the Gospel or not. Which is why I've continued watching him all these years.

I come into agreement on this msg in Jesus Christ mighty Name, amen and amen. I also speak on my channel and when spreading The Gospel, that age does not matter to God because when the young man in the book of Job, I think his name is Elihu in 32 chapter
of Job vs 6,7,8 where God speaks of age and there is also another Scripture that says let no one despise you because of your age. God bless you and all, no one seeking Truth will find lies, especially in Scripture, in Jesus mighty Name, amen and amen .

This does not only happen in the Amish. Many people believe that the Bible should not be interpreted to be 100 percent truth. Or people will twist verses of the Bible to say something else or what they want it to say. Thank you for sharing truth!❤

Yes, I’ve heard Amish people say those things before, even call different versions of the Bible that are not KJV “Satans Bible”. They do not realize the danger they are in by saying these things! They have a fear of man over a fear of God. Also I always wondered why they always read the same scriptures in church and never read anything new. Probably because they never read any scriptures that would question their Amish traditions!

@@AmishTransformed We (my husband and I) started having Bible study with some other Amish people and we read the NLT version and New King James Version, which is easier to understand , and we started noticing things that some Amish beliefs contradict. We prayed that the Holy Spirit would reveal to us if we are supposed to leave the Amish and it was revealed to us very plainly, through scripture and some dreams we had, that we are supposed to leave. As long as you are Christian and godly and dress modestly. You can go back and visit the Amish and they will accept you after a while. That is you can be a light to them.
But if you start dressing inmodestly, and start cursing and using the lord's name in vain. And smoking or using drugs. Then of course you will not be a light to them and they will not accept you much.

  • @bobhmail7161

Perhaps, just perhaps you might want to consider another question. Do you understand how and why you learn? I say that because deception occurs because the deceived is not paying attention for several reasons whether you are not focused, you do not understand the intent of a message or mental complacency etc. This is why humans always strive for certainty and control. Deception is an excuse / rationalization or the minds approach, thus shielding the ego for one's lack of understanding or doing what is wrong because you failed to understand.
To get beyond this resign or surrender completely yourself to God and give Him your reigns of lust for control and certainty in this world because they are not yours as you possess neither. You are doing your best to manage them.

I was talking to him about how the Bible does not say that we have to be Amish all our lives because we were born there. That is what the Amish teach. The same thing about dressing in amish clothes and wearing head coverings... ect. and the Bible says we are to obey God first, above all, even our parents. When I pointed out Bible verses (which is uncommon in the amish), that is when he told me that he thinks I am reading the Bible too much, and it is starting to deceive me. He said there are more amish people who leave because the Bible decieves them. The reason why they say that is because it goes against their teachings.

Well, there's too much to list, so I am sharing more and more with each video. But for starters, they teach salvation through works instead of faith. And then, of course, they believe we can't know that we are saved. With that mindset alone, there are tons of things that they believe that don't match with the Bible. They believe it's a sin to leave the Amish, and you'll go to hell if you do.

As you know, Amish women are taught they have to wear a head covering. I was confused as to why Christians (not Amish) did not wear head coverings. I searched for answers and prayed about it. I realized that chapter in Corinthians is often misunderstood. I don't believe there is anything wrong with wearing one, and there's nothing wrong with not wearing one. Remember, God doesn't actually care about that because He wants our heart more than anything. Wearing a head covering is not something that God commanded, and it should never be forced. I have a video coming out within the next couple of weeks about head coverings. If you're interested, you can stick around and listen to that one when it comes out. Also, in my searching, I'll share one of my trusted resources. Bibletalk.tv has a lot of Bible studies for almost every chapter of the Bible, and Mike Mazzalongo has a great way of explaining! ⬇️ I included the link.

Sadly, they do not. They believe they have to follow the church rules and obey all the 10 commandments, and they believe if you were born amish you have to stay amish in order to have a chance to get to heaven, and then you can 'hope' that God will let you into heaven one day. It is definitely a works based religion.

If you use a Bible like NIV, New King James or many other "new"translations...the 1611 KJV Bible is the only bible I use...other translations have removed whole verses or words...there are 57,000+ words that have been changed or removed from the 1611 KJV Bible...be careful which translation you use because every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God gives perfect clarity and context to what is being communicated....God say My thoughts are not man's though & why God's Word is not to be interpreted by the thoughts of man... God's Word interprets itself by using other books of the Bible to spell out exactly what God's thoughts are...

    • @CarpeDiamCoramDao

Which KJV is the correct one? The modern KJV are not the same as the actual 1611. Which includes the apocrypha. Also there are about 22,000 differences between the first 1611 King James printing and the fourth revision in 1769. Personally I enjoy the 1560 Geneva Bible. A Protestant translation...... After studying this out to the extent of learning Greek I discovered the missing verses were added on over the years Erasmus did the best he could with what he had about 7 manuscripts that were incomplete. He used the Latin Vulgate to fill in his missing pieces. Modern scholars have about 20,000 manuscripts that predate what Erasmus had. So they are closer to the original.
I prefer the ESV. They all have errors minor as they are.... I do enjoy my original 1611 and read/ study it regularly.
The most important thing is I can lead someone to the Lord out of the vast majority of any Translation. And the vast majority of all translations agree doctrinally.....
