I had a coworker that got on my nerves asking me questions about stuff I felt as if she should already know sweet girl but I just wanted to clock in and clock out but I am a nice person and willing to help so I would answer her questions about the bible or about debt etc. She wanted to persue other things and put in a 2 week notice. She told me that she looked up to me and seen me as her mentor and thanked me for everything. That absolutely changed my life and I didn't know she seen me as such I thought she was just a naive 24 yr old blondey. It definitely changed my views on new people I meet and my willingness and want to answer people questions or concerns no matter how small I think it is.

That's why you/we have to stop judging people and stop mistreating people who simply want to know more. Like, how can you even knock someone who wants to gain knowledge from you or better themselves? She could have been an angel in disguise, someone there to bless you; that's why it's important to be kind and be helpful to people. Glad you were able to gain that wisdom!

I'm glad that you had a change of heart. People may get under your skin by asking questions, but keep in mind that there was a time when you just didn't know and someone helped you. We carry the fruit of the spirit so others can pluck it; that is how we grow and become a blessing to others. God bless you.

They are definitely not humble. Many use the word humble is the wrong context.
The definition of humble is 1.having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance
2.of low social, administrative, or political rank.
This is most certainly not them.

Everyone has mentors whether they realize it or not. Mentors are nothing more or less than those who influence our lives (actions, thoughts and decisions). Some mentors are just closer than others... if the truth be told.👍🏾💯

@@mrsbrownsugarsweetz Dear one. You have mentors. Think about all the people who helped influence and shaped your life through actions, words and decisions down through the years. The word mentor is thought about so deeply that we fail to realize how many people have mentored us over the years. Remember... some mentors are closer than others.👍🏾💯

Tab you are so my internet mentor. I got Tab Time on my desktop and play an ep to set me on a super positive and productive path for my day. That show is not just for kids. It's for adults too who would never burn their Kid Card cause they know how valuable it is to their contextual awareness in a world that seems to be in free fall. And I haven't missed watching "Fridays w/ Tab and Chance" because the vibe is so lovingly instructive. Even though last weeks show creeped me out a bit. I made sure I had my nigh lights way up that night. LOL!!!!

When I think of mentors in religion I think of discipleship, people who choose to walk alongside others and help them not exactly coaching them or having a relationship with God for them. Moreso for accountability and strengthening, especially for those who weren’t raised Christian.

Mentor's show us choices for life and expand our views. So much of what I valued came from the actions of others that I admired and not so much their words. For example there was a man at the small church I attended as a kid who was our Vacation Bible school leader. He wore a beautiful suit, spoke and sang with a deep baritone voice and really rallied all of the kids to enjoy and celebrate the the Lord. Brother Hall was my first example of a black male hero. Years later I saw him in stained overalls working at our cities' bus depot and I admired the courage it took for him to lead when his day job wore him out. There are many silent mentors whose actions guide us. God bless them.

The Bible says many are called and few are chosen. It’s so many people are not walking in their calling, that’s why they give up so easily! I love what I do it’s a passion for the love of God.

Although I love you Tabitha and your beautiful family however I totally disagree with you on church. First of all by going to church every Sunday doesn't get you saved but, if we called on the name of the Lord and asked him to come into our hearts and forgive us of our sins and confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord then we are saved!! However anybody that you're in a relationship with you go by their place of residence and visit them, and the same goes with God, if you love him then you will go by and visit him( church) and besides God said forsake not the assembly with others. Y'all be blessed

Greeting this beautiful FRIDAY! Happy to see both of you. You both are amazing helping to motivate and inspire people. Mentorship is powerful and especially important when you need guidance and new directions for new opportunities and new adventures in a new starting place in life.
You are right every marriage is different but great marriages also have a head start by learning what a marriage partnership is all about before committing yourself to a oneness.
I also feel that if your desire is to be married don’t just wait to get with the person start your development process by learning and getting a mentor before committing yourself to a relationship to manifest into marriage.

We All Naturally Wanna Seek God And Its Spiritually In Us To Do So. But It's Truly Only One Way To Seek Him And Over The Years I've Learned That God Is A Man Of Order And Obedience. So To Receive God's Mentorship You Must Humble Yourself First And Seek Him Through His Gospel (The Bible) You Won't Find God's Word No Where Else But There.
"Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them."
(Isaiah 34:16) KJV As God's Children We Have To Set Aside Our Own Vain Beliefs What We Think He Expects Of Us And Seek What He Do Expects Of Us. Thats The Division Between Us And God Is That We Put Words In His Mouth Rather Than Reading The Book He Left For Our Learning. Church Ain't For Feel Good It's For Correction Thru The Word. 💯 Entering Into The Kingdom Comes By Faith And Works.

Mentors in marriage I agree with Chance IF AND ONLY IF you're dealing with a situation where abuse is NOT part of the situation. Often times victims THINK their struggle is "part of the process" when IN FACT they are in danger. Who can they go to if their circle leaves them to their own devices??? YES it is a fine line but when you don't know better, solid advice for a healthy striving couple is DEADLY for a couple engaging in domestic violence.

People can be mentors but not know it. They give an example. So you can work on a relationship and get advice. Lots of things to learn, like doing your share of housework regardless of what your parents did. Like listening. Like improving your communications skills. Like learning when to pick your battles. Like not instigating. Like showing respect. Like gratitude. Like dealing with abandonment issues. Take the advice but also do the work.

Many, many, many years ago I was hired by a company and soon realized there wasn’t much my new boss could teach me. Well, I was wrong….through his actions he taught me how not to treat people, how not to embarrass co-workers etc. I walked away from that position realizing I would never be like him if I ever had people reporting to me. Guess everyone can be a mentor, it’s what you do with what you’ve learned…..good and bad.

You can definitely have mentors to help you grow in your faith. Women of faith have taught me how to make decisions (not make decisions for me) taught me how to pray (not pray my prayers for me) taught me how to hear from God (not hear from God for me). There is a personal walk and a community walk. It's dangerous to be a Lone Ranger Christian. Find good people a bible study, a prayer group, a church. Its easy to be deceived if you are out there own your own. I appreciate opinions but always the Word has to be your measuring stick.

Merriam-Webster defines MENTOR as a trusted counselor or guide wtbs we automatically become mentors when we step into certain positions or roles.
Many people are mentors but do not realize it.
Mentorship requires dedication. You have to be intentional and self aware to be a mentor.

    Hello Tab and Chance,
I really enjoy your videos. Having or being a mentor is a gift.
Not everyone can pour into others.
Keep bringing us these very needed conversations!!!

This just came to me while watching. Why is it that when people talk about mentoring we think of everyone but parents. Parents should be kids first and most important mentor. I do understand that it takes a village but parents shouldn't wait for someone else to mentor their child or children.

Maybe we shouldn’t tell each other what to do, but what NOT TO DO… cause we know that won’t work, or what that will cause or the effects of THAT… so not what to do, but what not to do… stay clear of, avoid!

So listening to this reminds me of something I feel like at times professionals in some positions think more about the money then the actual job. Like teachers truly don't get paid enough, but some teachers are like when the bell rings I'm done. However, others will stay after class, extend emails and just make sure the lesson that needs be learned is learned. But yall are correct mentorship is very important to make sure that if you take on the responsibility it's your responsibility to mentor.

In the black community there are few and far between to find who are willing to take time to mentor kids. Becareful out there in asking for mentors because people will use that to their advantage. Ask but be willing to step away if doesn't feel right or they asking you to do something morally wrong.

Heaven is real, and Hell according to God’s word means the grave. Everyone doesn’t know about God yet, the babies who died before their time because they were aborted will not go to hell, and anyone else who died without knowing Jesus.
