    The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

    The boys from Dublin, Ireland were riding the wave of the British Invasion in the 60s with more of a softer sound focusing on harmonies. They scored six top 40 songs in the two-year period of 1964-66, with this song being the final one. Excellent video!

    This was a popular song back in the 60s, sung by a number of singers. A good old fashion classic.

    The Bachelors are my favorite band; I'm so happy to see this posted! Thank you so much! This is also my favorite version of this song. The Bachelors always sang with great emotion and intensity! They appeared three times on the Sullivan show. Many of their hits were remakes of older songs and were all great, but once in awhile they recorded a contemporary song such as this one, and did their usual great job!
    "Love Me With All Your Heart" charted at number 3 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and 38 on the Hot 100. It was written by Carlos Rigual. After this song, they sang a show-stopping version of "You'll Never Walk Alone", and I hope you will post that someday as well. Thank you again so much for this great video!

    The Bachelors were an Irish trio formed by the Cluskey brothers (Conleth and Declan) and Sean Stokes, who with their vocal harmonies and romantic melodies that fused pop with folk and country, achieved some international success in the 60s, especially in the UK. .
    "Love Me With All Your Heart" is a song whose original title in Spanish would translate into something like "When the Sun heats up", so its original lyrics vary quite a bit from its English version. Personally, I don't think The Bachelors version surpasses Ray Charles Singers (1964) or the later one by the great Engelbert Humperdinck (1970). This publication serves as a tribute to Con Cluskey, who died a year and a half ago at the age of 80 due to complications derived from Covid.

      @@that70sgirl90 Thank you for your kind words, but in my case there are also many bands and soloists that I don't even heard about. The explosion of pop music in the form of bands and performers in the 50s and 60s (considering only those from the US and the UK) was such that it is very difficult to have a deep musical knowledge of that time, unless you are dedicating to this... as is the case of Mr. Bob Stanley. In this sense, I would like to suggest his (reference) work "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! The Story of modern pop", a true encyclopedic guide to the birth and development of popular music from the 50s to the current era. Have a nice sunday!

    • @edufau815
      @edufau815 11 місяців тому +1

      @@VictoriousSage Well, the name was part of the strategy to attract a female audience, that has been written... John Stokes ended up separating from the Cluskey brothers in 1984. It is to be thought that at some point the members of the trio must have gotten married, however In the 90s, two factions derived from the original trio toured as The Bachelors, one made up of the Cluskey brothers and the other led by John Stokes, so they never stopped being "bachelors", in artistic terms at least... Thanks for comment!
