Fallout 4 top 10 undercover synths. Fallout 4's main story line focuses on the sole survivor located his stolen son, who was taken by an evil institution that also kidnaps and replaces people in the commonwealth with synthetic human aka synths. This video looks at the top 10 npcs in fallout that you didn't know were synths, it also looks at one human npc that everything thinks is a synth but she's actually not. These are all the best undercover synths in fallout 4, memorable characters like sturges, mayor mcdonough, magnolia, and paladin danse. And more esoteric characters like amelia stockton, roger warwick, brooks, captain avery, and tektus.
Some of these synth are trying to hide in the common wealth and actually know they are synths but just want to keep it a secret, while some actually have no idea they are not human and learning they are a synth actually comes as a shock to them. This is a really interesting dynamic in fallout 4, one that really gives the characters a whole new perspective especially characters like paladin danse who have chosen a life that would in fact completely contradict him being a synth.

I know for a fact that each faction has at least 1 synth in their ranks.

The Institute: almost everyone on their staff.

Chip synths are simply clones of people and retain their memories of the past life that’s why dima says “are you sure your not a synth the only memories you have are of a pre war” this means that the ss aka synth in this theory would be placed back in the cryo chamber and would retain all of the memories of nate/Nora depending on who you play. This is why the ss could be a synth all along because gen 4 synths are the ones who blend in effortlessly like danse and the others on this list the only contributing factor is a synth component

You escape Vault 111, Go back to your home, Meet Codsworth and the first Friendly NPC you meet is a RANDOM DOG! Story wise, It woudl make sense even though Bethesda never programmed it in... Dogmeat becomes your companion... Meaning "Father" always knows what is happening as a Synth Dog as your friend is feeding back every thing you do!
Canon wise.. NO Dogmeat is NOT a Synth... You are right! But it is a missed opportunity! Dogmeat should have been a Synth!
And lets get to one NOT mentioned that should have been... And this is CANON, Bethesda have CONFIRMED this Theory - ALL THE BIRDS IN THE GAME ARE SYNTHS! (well, maybe not all but the vast majority... Thats how the Institute knows so much, Avian Spies!)

Phyllis is not a synth, though she believes it herself.
Phyliis was put into the game to show, how people react, after something horrific has happend to them, to "get over" and continue living.
She suffered a trauma and her only way to cope is to believe she is a synth e.g lying to herself, so she would not have to accept being responsible, even though she had no intentions in killing her grandson.

I don't think Sturges is secretly a synth....Your forgetting that there are memory wiped synths coming from the railroad as well, so most probably he could be a railroad agent or he himself doesn't know he is a synth because his memory was wiped off...

how did the institute not find out about Arcadia's broadcasts? also why couldn't the soul survivor hear the broadcast at any point in the base game? I feel like these are serious plot holes.
The are plot holes... But they can be explained with a bit of real world logic... Frequency and Frequency jammers exist... Dima knowing of teh Institutes existence and with the aide of his fellow Acadians may have created a specialised signal that could not be intercepted by the institute and woudl not broadcast over "Standard Radio Frequencies" - Lets not forget - Kasumi only found that signal because she was "Repairing" a Radio... We don't know what repairs she did but she may have inadvertently tapped into the "Secret Signal"
That woudl be my Fan Theory that would explain it... It makes sense, It fits with real world Logic... And more importantly makes sense in terms of Game Lore!

Synth components only show up after you kill it.

There is a registry in the institute on synths, though I have not seen it myself, I think Sturgis is on the list, I think it even has deactivation codes, locations, even missions
