I had to wait 20 days for my 5950X, I added it to the basket and by the time I tried to complete the check out , it was sold out. My purchase changed into a pre order 4 minutes after release. Fair play to Scan.co.uk for keeping the MSRP price and giving me my Far Cry 6
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I got my first 3090 from the EVGA website on launch day. I'm an "Elite Member" so they put the FTW3 cards aside and only let Elite Members buy them initially. Very nice, thanks for the demonstration and all of your videos, they are fun to watch and well done! I just got a shipping notification for my own 5950X today, so next week I'll have that and RTX 3090 too. Looking forward to that.
I was able to secure the 5950x a few days ago. It ran into a shipping delay, but I should receive it soon. I think an all-core overclock is great for multithreaded workloads, but I may keep mine stock and allow the PBO to handle it since it can hit higher single threaded performance that way. Nice explanation. I am wondering if you could do undervolting on the Ryzen 9 5950X whilst mining XMR with XMRIG (Windows) because my cores are running at 100% all the time and I want to throttle it down to keep temperatures and CPU utilization lower but I might create fan curves in BIOS.
You can do that in windows by just going to your power plan settings, and changing your max processor state to 80% or lower in porcessor power management tab
So, I know this is a pretty old video and I probably won't get an answer, but I'm concerned a bit... My 5950X sits at 50-60°C in IDLE and goes to like 80°C while gaming. It's completely on stock, no OC done yet, my cooling solution is the Corsair H150i (360 radiator) in a good airflow case. Seeing this CPU sitting at below 50 is like hearsay to me, i've gotten used to having high temps in exchange for the kind of power this thing offers off the box. Thats why i'm currently looking at overclocking vs. Undervolting options. Is there anything I should've done in the Bios from the start? (Btw, a personal friend of mine is a professional, and he tested my 5950X in and out... He called it a golden chip and told me I won the silicon lottery, but it still runs pretty toasty appearantly...)

Im getting lower scores tho, probably becaause im runnning 3600 Mhz CL16 instead of 3800 CL14. 12089 in multi thread, which is 300 higher than the reference. But, my single core score is at a mere 619.7, which is 28 whole points below the reference, and like 80 below yours. Any idea? I’m used to overclocking Intel CPUs, since it’s pretty simple, idk why but I’ve always had trouble trying to get into doing AMD’s Ryzen style, thank you for the video, I’m not gonna try minmaxing this one, but trying your OC settings to see if it’ll be better than Ryzen Master which loves to crash my PC when set to auto
Glad i subbed last year and i see you getting the new stuff! Very happy for you bro!
Edit: also damn, i wouldn't even play games on that pc. I'd just look at how pretty it is all day!
Came for the PC, stayed for the window netting.
Thank you brother this is the one the one to get the job done
Finally getting my PC!!! Ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb 4400mhz and asus strix 3090 oc. The ryzen 9 5900x was mu first option, but it wasn't available. So, at least I hope to get a good performance
You have to be one of the luckiest streamers I've seen in a while. Nabbed a 3090, 6800XT and a 5950X, all of which are pretty difficult to get. I bought 2x RTX 3090's (one for a friend who reimbursed me) retail, so it's doable, but still man.. lol.
Still took 5 hours of screwing with the checkout system because it kept crashing.
Got the 2nd card on November 10th from Best Buy's website. Friend came and picked it up and paid me back.
I was half-considering buying a 5950X but I use a Threadripper system now and don't want to lose a ton of PCI Express lanes & cores for the higher IPC. I'm less of a gamer these days and do more workstation oriented applications, so the TRX40 platform works for me.
@@DruuzilTechGames Dam you are really about that big money. TRX40 platform when IPC increases may just been something I aspire to in the future. This is the last stop for AM4 after all
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I make Deepfakes on my system, which is pretty much entirely limited by hardware speed. The 3090's massive CUDA core allotment really helps (since Deepfacelab is entirely dependent on CUDA count). The software is still a bit janky for Ampere support.. hoping that gets improved with time, and that we see better mult-GPU support. I'd do a pair of 3090's if I could use both to train my models. Shit takes forever to train, lol.
Those temps :O
I tried the same settings ( Asus TuffB550m) and my temps go around 87C.

great thermals and great scores. Nice man.

Very nice, thanks for the demonstration and all of your videos, they are fun to watch and well done!
I just got a shipping notification for my own 5950X today, so next week I'll have that and RTX 3090 too. Looking forward to that.
Awesome
Precision boost is an overclock dude.
Glad you got it :D
Great video & really helpful, my 5900x arrives next so happy days.
I was able to secure the 5950x a few days ago. It ran into a shipping delay, but I should receive it soon. I think an all-core overclock is great for multithreaded workloads, but I may keep mine stock and allow the PBO to handle it since it can hit higher single threaded performance that way. I may even mess with a slight undervolt to see if voltage spikes would stabilize and produce better thermals.
Thank you! this helps a lot.
Bro holy shit you actually made my pc run waaayyyy better thank you so much for this. You got any update on better settings for more performance? Thanks again!
Some fast memory there.
Nice, I got the same mobo for my 5900x
Have you tried PBO with Curve Optimizer -20 -30 ???
Love the setup!
Very nice. Would all your tweaks work with a 5600X based system instead of the 5950?
Man your power bill must be absolutely insane
Not really I don't sit around playing games all day
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer Well you have some crazy will power man, with a rig like that I'd be gaming as much as possible 😅

Enabling PBO increases my temps by 12 degrees, don’t feel like it’s worth it for the 3% performance improvement I get.
Go check optimum tech video on PBO. you can undervolt for lower temps and also gain an extra mhz boost a the same time. 100% worth it
Love the PC mate and glad it wasn't RGB vomit!

Could you make an Update of this as if you have made tweaks to the bios Settings, with the new Bios Versions coming out. Its so hard to find somebody running the same Bios on a new cpu, your configs run perfecktly on my System, really helped me out :)

Great set-up! How much is the gap, between the gpu fans, and the window? I reckon if I mount mine vertical, it will be too close to the window.
You fix the Vcore manually with PBO ?
Shouldn’t be the Vcore setting at auto with PBO ?
Why do you think that?
I see, this is my aswer to my last question in your another video
Is it safe if I only copy your PBO settings and don’t mess around with Voltage settings? Or do I have to copy your Voltage settings aswell?
im getting 90c and it starting to throttle in cinebench multi core
Can't watch whole video rn sorry but huge fan of your new PC
i only want 12k R20 when stuff is in stock, seeing 12.5k is unreal.
Have you tried curve optimiser under the advanced tab instead of the usual oc tab? Did your lower cpu voltage make curve optimiser irrelevant due to your thermals? Great work, gonna try with my EK 240 AIO and 5950x!
I did not use Curve optimizer as I have experienced a lot of instability
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer the one time I tried it my screen just went blank, that was only with a negative 5mv on all cores!

Is it similar with the 5900X?
I'm curious with your bios, my question is did this improve gameplay such as fps etc
It would slightly, but not every cpu is the same i tried his overlock and mine was worse then the one i worked out i left a comment at the top for my 5950x.
It's funny I have nearly the exact same setup and out of the box I get slight input lag on keyboard and my mouse feels 'floaty'. Someone said they changed their Dynamic VCORE SOC(DVID) to +0.300V and it resolve THEIR input lag problem (and they were using a Gigabyte mobo), but I know nothing about overclocking so I wouldn't want to touch it. What do you think bud?
Nice video! I have the 5900x on MSI X570 Tomahawk, can I do the same settings?
Are you buying from scalpers?
also, why not shoot for a 2000mhz infinity fabric?
I had to settle for a 5800x for now, in combination with the same viper memory you have at 4000mhz and everything's been running fine now for a couple days.
It's a new chip, It takes time for me to get the best out of it. Maybe one day I will, But no I'm not buying from scalpers why are you asking me silly questions?. How are you getting your hardware?
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer mine? leftovers of what didn't sell out instantly.
I was basically forced into purchasing the least desirable 5000 series cpu Microcenter had on launch day.
I ask because you ended up with 4 of the hardest to purchase items in the world right now. there are very few ways to actually get that hardware right now.
Possibilities include:
1. You work for a Large Pc hardware retailer, and get opportunities to "set aside" hardware.
2. people in gaming groups your in is selling it to you close to cost.
3. Your Purchase-Botting.
4. Buying from Scalpers.
5. Getting "review samples", which is 100% a possibility.
The odds of camping out a retail store, and actually getting a 5950x, 6800xt, 3080, and a 3090 right now are extraordinarily slim otherwise

How much more fps you are getting from the 5950X
Haven't done too much testing yet, but I will soon
Setting your core voltage to "override" will force it to sustain that voltage. You really don't want to do that. It wastes a lot of energy. Maybe I'm misunderstanding my manual, but I'm pretty sure you should not do that.
A lot? How much power do you think the 5950X uses at idle at 1.325v? Unless you really need to look after the pennies it's nothing even worth talking about
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I'm not concerned about the cost of energy. The thermals are probably worse because of it. Choosing to not have your voltage scale with your requirements is suboptimal. @@florianebner934 ohhhhh 🙃🙃😅
This is why I don't mess with AIO's they are garbage compared to a water block and Custom Loop. You should look into that, it will solve your issue.
Thanks for the answer. Yeah, a custom loop would be great, but its simply not within my skill limitations yet. Need to work on that first, i don't wanna risk my 5950X and the 3090 in that thing just yet.
I got one more thing tho... I tried your settings, everything seems fine and stable. Any idea? (Btw seems like my temp worrying was stupid, with these settings im still peeking at 70, which is absolutely fine)
At the Mem Clocks the TRP can be lwoer as the tRCD like if trp is 20 tRcd can be 19 or even 18 : ) and i just beatet your scores :))

@@Bang4BuckPCGamer Interesting. I set a 1.35V fixed value and saw my average Passmark CPU score go down from 40700 to 18500 -- mostly due to its multi-threading cross-platform rating.
