Since I have been asked on multiple occasions for a look at my PC and Bios Settings, I thought I would share them. These settings are safe as it is not an overclock but please configure your own Memory settings as that is not a one size fits all. For CineBench R20 Single threaded performance click the link below

amazing that PBO enables 4.6 ive heard some hitting 4.7 all core w/ more voltage, and 5ghz in other use cases. With custom PBO settings. These zen3 chips are pretty nuts. 5900x in some cases beating the 3950x in multithreaded too. Now the 3090 can see 100% utilization LOL in 4k a cpu getting gains pretty nuts.

    • @oxfordsparky

Simply enabling PBO on my 5950x with customer loop only ran 4.1ghz all core and 4.8ghz single core.
An hour of playing with curve optimiser got that up to 4.48ghz all core and 5ghz single core at 1.15v and 75c looping cinebench R23mc but my power limits are way lower than this guys, my PBO Limits are PPT: 200. TDC: 200. EDC: 165 as recommended by a post I saw on the AMD subreddit.
I’ll have a go at some higher settings this evening.

I was on the fence if I should enable PBO because of the additional heatoutput, especially in the summer but this ultimately convinced me to go the step again & the performance the PC has now and the lifestyle it enables you to have is absolutely amazing. It's blazing fast whatever you do and it really comforts you with performance and smoothness in everything you ever want to do. At the end of the day it would almost be a waste to have gone with the good ram and the good cpu and the good gpu etc, if you left all the settings stock and therefore left all the (free) performance on the table. Thx for making this video, I found it pretty inspirational.

perfect timing... I just actually ordered the view 71 ARGB version to move my build over... I also picked up another 120MM rad as well, so Im going to be running 1x 360mm 1x 240mm and 1x 120mm rads in a strictly CPU loop haha... right now Im just using the 360/240 and my 9900KF is clocked at 5.3Ghz and barely ever reaches above 65c........ I am upgrading to the 5900X as soon as I can get one, but want to get it as cool as possible to see if I can't get a decent overclock on it. My goal is to get a 5900X at 4.8 on all cores... Probably unrealistic, but by god I am gonna try!! haha

Same with Ryzen 5900x beats any other 24 threads CPUs and also win in single-core )
Also works with an air cooling system at 75 degrees. Ryzen 5000 can run perfectly with an air cooling system.
At 100% load, it gets 71 degrees with single-core it limited by 75 degrees.
I can get much more with AIO liquid cooler 360.
Settings PBO2 + Curve Optimizer, best cores negative (-15), normal cores (-10).

You have to be one of the luckiest streamers I've seen in a while. Nabbed a 3090, 6800XT and a 5950X, all of which are pretty difficult to get. I bought 2x RTX 3090's (one for a friend who reimbursed me) retail, so it's doable, but still man.. lol.

@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I got my first 3090 from the EVGA website on launch day. I'm an "Elite Member" so they put the FTW3 cards aside and only let Elite Members buy them initially. Still took 5 hours of screwing with the checkout system because it kept crashing.
Got the 2nd card on November 10th from Best Buy's website. Friend came and picked it up and paid me back.
I was half-considering buying a 5950X but I use a Threadripper system now and don't want to lose a ton of PCI Express lanes & cores for the higher IPC. I'm less of a gamer these days and do more workstation oriented applications, so the TRX40 platform works for me.

@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I make Deepfakes on my system, which is pretty much entirely limited by hardware speed. The 3090's massive CUDA core allotment really helps (since Deepfacelab is entirely dependent on CUDA count). The software is still a bit janky for Ampere support.. hoping that gets improved with time, and that we see better mult-GPU support. I'd do a pair of 3090's if I could use both to train my models. Shit takes forever to train, lol.

I was able to secure the 5950x a few days ago. It ran into a shipping delay, but I should receive it soon. I think an all-core overclock is great for multithreaded workloads, but I may keep mine stock and allow the PBO to handle it since it can hit higher single threaded performance that way. I may even mess with a slight undervolt to see if voltage spikes would stabilize and produce better thermals.

Trying yours on my 5950x was worse, so i tried this turned out better for my 5950x

When i tried his settings i was getting multithreaded around 12550,
And single 630 for mine sometimes 650 single threaded so i started digging around and managed to get 13008 multithreaded,

I was basically forced into purchasing the least desirable 5000 series cpu Microcenter had on launch day.
I ask because you ended up with 4 of the hardest to purchase items in the world right now. there are very few ways to actually get that hardware right now.
      Possibilities include:
      1. You work for a Large Pc hardware retailer, and get opportunities to "set aside" hardware.
      2. people in gaming groups your in is selling it to you close to cost.
      3. Your Purchase-Botting.
      4. Buying from Scalpers.
      5. Getting "review samples", which is 100% a possibility.

Nice explanation. I am wondering if you could do undervolting on the Ryzen 9 5950X whilst mining XMR with XMRIG (Windows) because my cores are running at 100% all the time and I want to throttle it down to keep temperatures and CPU utilization lower but I might create fan curves in BIOS.

So, I know this is a pretty old video and I probably won't get an answer, but I'm concerned a bit... My 5950X sits at 50-60°C in IDLE and goes to like 80°C while gaming. It's completely on stock, no OC done yet, my cooling solution is the Corsair H150i (360 radiator) in a good airflow case. Seeing this CPU sitting at below 50 is like hearsay to me, i've gotten used to having high temps in exchange for the kind of power this thing offers off the box. Thats why i'm currently looking at overclocking vs. Undervolting options. Is there anything I should've done in the Bios from the start?
(Btw, a personal friend of mine is a professional, and he tested my 5950X in and out... He called it a golden chip and told me I won the silicon lottery, but it still runs pretty toasty appearantly...)

Thanks for the answer. Yeah, a custom loop would be great, but its simply not within my skill limitations yet. Need to work on that first, i don't wanna risk my 5950X and the 3090 in that thing just yet.
I got one more thing tho... I tried your settings, everything seems fine and stable. Im getting lower scores tho, probably becaause im runnning 3600 Mhz CL16 instead of 3800 CL14. 12089 in multi thread, which is 300 higher than the reference. But, my single core score is at a mere 619.7, which is 28 whole points below the reference, and like 80 below yours. Any idea? (Btw seems like my temp worrying was stupid, with these settings im still peeking at 70, which is absolutely fine)
