  • The Razor VX by Outdoor Edge is a game changer for people who do not like sharpening their knives. Admittedly, I really hated sharpening knives until I got a solid Sharpening System.
The Razor VX by Outdoor Edge is a budget friendly option at $39-70 and the knife comes with several replaceable blades. It cost $12 to purchase six replaceable blades. The knife swap out system is very easy. All you have to do is push the button, release the blade, and click a new blade back in place.
I have had this knife next to my front door for the past month and I have been using it to open just about every Amazon package. The Utility razor blade shape has been GREAT at slicing open mail and is currently still sharp (so no replacing yet).

My first question was gonna be was "how much are the replacement blades", you know your subscribers well lol.
It's a great idea and I'm glad someone made this knife, but there's something satisfying about taking the time and effort in putting a good edge on any blade, the satisfaction that comes from anything where you have to have focus and dedication to get the result you wanted.
I'll never forget using my grandfather's blade sharpeners to put a good edge on a knife and his high praise for a job well done.
After feeling the edge and using it to glide through a piece of paper like it wasn't even there he told me "good job, you put an edge on there sharp enough to cut the fool out of somebody", still not completely sure what that meant but I got the gist of it.

What sharpening system do you have the most success with? I started on wet stones and got really good at that. Then moved to crock sticks because they're portable. Now I use a cheap bench jig and now i can mirror polish anything. Can change the angle by using an angle finder that can zero.

You can still sharpen the blades. A big reason for having a knife like this is field dressing and quartering a large animal, or multiple. Instead of bringing a few different knives you bring one with different blade attachments. As well as after an hour of cutting through skin, connective tissue and scraping against bone, instead of taking time to stop and sharpen a blade, just pop a new one on and continue.

I’m currently saving up for Acta Non Verba Anthropoid tho. I’ve always been someone who can appreciate a finely made Weapon. I was surprised I liked it so much and being a bit OCD about my tools I immediately embarked on a quest to find replacements. They didn't stock them and they weren't easy to find back then. I managed to squirrel away g maybe 25 of which I still have a few. assuming the blades are made in China it's odd that some blades seem to last longer then others doing the same work. But in general this (drop point) blade unique enough to stay permanently in my collection because there are definitely days when I know I'll be doing slicing where I specifically check this knife as my EDC. Hope it has a solid Lockup & Good QC because I’ve owned a few knives like this, some not cheap at all and they all had the same issues. The blades would pop out even under a simple task as cutting cardboard and then the replacement blades would be expensive and have terrible QC with imperfections or just wouldn’t lock into the handle. I trust your opinion and you have led me to some great knives so i will give this one a try and renew my comment after. Thanks
