  • Hiking through one of the most epic sections on the Centennial Trail in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The day after Runner's rain jacket wetted out. Leaving him with soaked clothes underneath. With temperatures close to freezing. Leading him to go into hyperthermia. With the rain passing. It's time to do some serious hiking. And we sure did. The trail is challenging. The scenery is breathtaking. Making the Centennial one of the most beautiful trails in the world. If you disagree. Then check out this episode.

Very beautiful footage Ron! The trail looks very diverse and beautiful. The camp near Mount Rushmore looked excellent. I love the HG quilts. The team ratings are conservative and they work well below their ratings. Great quality. Great video! 👍

Bob is such a nice guy. And George. I never seen anything like that. First time I meet them. George was sitting on the front of Bobs four wheeler. As they were coming down the road. Thank you Remyboyandhismommy for watching. I really appreciate it.

@@AdventureswiththeMarine While a 10 lb. Pack is certainly attractive, not sure I am ready to commit to that extreme for a week. But, at 74 I do need to continue to lighten my load and you provided some good ideas in the 3 videos I watched about your Black Hills trip.

A friend worked as a park ranger here 2 different summers. As a full time teacher it was a fun summer job. Once she was ask to do a lesson plan & activities for a very small special group. She made badges & prepared activities. In came like 15 really big RVs she thought it was perhaps Pres. Obama & family. Turned out it was a Ted Turner & his family. The parents wouldn’t let her pin the badges on as it might poke them. The kids stayed in the RVs on their phones & playing video games. The parents didn’t won’t them out & about because someone could kidnap them.
Turner & his young 20 something girlfriend rode on horses w/ park authorities to see about bringing back the buffalo on an original path from early years. Guess he’s doing good conservation. But the adults & kids were not even looking at the beauty.

Great trip! I hope to do that trail someday. I realize this question is probably better asked on one of your other videos about underquilts... but I'm watching this video now... lol... QUESTION: You were using a 3/4 length underquilt. Aside form weight savings, what is the benefit? I would think your feet would get cold.

Packability is another. I put the Thermarest Seat Pad in the foot box to help keep the feet warm. The lows got in the high 30's during the night. And my feet were toasty warm. Thank you John for watching. I really appreciate it.
