- Kicking off a three-part video series for this De-stashing Marathon! I just had too many pretty summer fabrics in my stash to only share a few with them, so I had to set myself a goal of getting through as many of them as possible before summer officially begins!
In this video I'll share which fabrics I'll be working with, what I hope on making with them, and I'll start and share the result of the first sewing project with you, a beautiful summer day dress made from red micro-gingham cotton.
I hope you enjoyed todays video, I am already working on my next project so make sure to subscribe to never miss a beat!
Would love to connect with you~

My girlfriend has asked me to make her a dress for a film award ceremony and your page is the only page I've settled on. I watched your video on how to create a bodice and it was so detailed and simple. I scoured the internet and thought about starting my own page because shit was so confusing, then I found your page. Looks like you've already filled that gap. We may be competitors in the future... I love your work and energy. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got part 2 to watch.
I’m fascinated by how quickly and easily you can draft patterns!! 🤯
Aw thank you :)
As always I love the technicality and detail of your construction. It is difficult to resist buying fabric after watching this though! Must … resist … fruit … print …
The fruit prints are on! 🍇
Omg I wish one day I too can finish such a big project with a quickness the way you do! Dress looks soooo good!!!!
Thank you so much! You can do it 💪
I’m destashing also. I have too much fabric. 🤦♀ I’m making skirts and dresses. I went to buy some interfacing and walked out with more fabric, patterns, zippers, thread and … interfacing. 😂 Thank goodness I didn’t forget the 1 thing I went there for. Then I had to order buttons. 🫢🫣🙄 I’m going to have some nice items made when I’m done though. 👍🥰 Love your video, can’t wait to see everything you do, and I have 2 of your patterns on the cutting table also - with some of my fabric stash. ❤❤
The struggle of only buying what you need is so real! Good luck with the projects =)
Oh my, couldn’t have described it myself haha. It just happens so easily, I‘m always planning three projects ahead, sometimes it’s hard to keep up.
Love the dress and showing us your inspirations and mood boards. So fun.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
I desperately need that tomatoes fabric, can’t wait to see how the pants turn out
It’s so good isn’t it? I am excited to share what I made with it soon 👀
So adorable! I look forward to each of your videos. Keep up the good work. ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
Yep! Imma need to grab that pattern when you release on Etsy!!! I've had that Michael Kors dress pinned fooor-eev-veeerr on my Pinterest board 😂Thank you for sharing a how you make a mood board and hopefully very soon the lil' miss Soleil pattern!! It's a gorgeous dress!! As always, well done!!
Thank you so much 😊 I hope I get to work on it more before summer ends, I still have quite a few things on my agenda!
Yes Elisa, Soleil is THE moment 🙏🙏🙏 please do release her xx
Thank you, I’ll try to do it before summer ends!
I second this!!! I would love to make it to wear at one of the weddings I will be going to in the fall.

In love with the moodboard (especially the tomato stretch denim: can't wait to see how that set turns out!)
That fabric is so fun and joyful! Can’t wait to wear it 🍅
Im excited to see the voluminous white skirt. I hope you make pleated or gathered version to see the difference ❤
Ahhhh only one version I’m afraid, and an unexpected one!

Preach!
No hiding the truth haha

Thank you! 🤗
I’m so happy I have found your channel. I get so inspired by your videos and I am learning a lot. What a good idea with the mood board. I never thought about making one. What program or app are you using for that?
Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed it! I use Canva Pro
Thank u for this!
I wonderabout the zipper...
Why you need a zipper if you sheered the back?
It’s an additional measure to make it more comfortable and forgiving, it also helps keep the fit tight :)
Love how it turned out! These videos are some of my favorite. Curious about the shirred back. With the facing does it loose most of that ease from the elasticity (except at the waistline), like is it mostly for the look? If you wanted to keep it all stretchy, what other ways could you do the back facing?
To me it looks like the facing ends at the shirred back on both sides in the video. That's also how I would do it if someone asked me how to keep it functional.
The facing spans across the shirred back piece - that keeps the neckline together, but it still gives more flexibility from the neckline down, so the belly area has more room to move/grow/shrink, which is quite nice! You could definitely stop the facing before the last back panel, that would make it even more comfy.
so talented!
Thank you ☺️
Very cute
Glad you like it :)
I’m forever a florals girly. I will ALWAYS wear/buy floral prints. I will be buried in a floral print 😂
Haha you go girl! Florals never go out of style.
@@ThrillsandStitches 😂💕💕
On the striped sundress, it looks more like narrow elastic channels instead of shirring. Think about it some more. It’s the distance between that makes me think that.
Oh, good point, thank you! I’ll think about that.
Whereabouts did yo7 film the reveal, it’s so pretty!
It's a community garden on a new build development in my area :) Very small though, so not necessarily a hot spot to visit!
@@ThrillsandStitches it’s super lovely ☺️
Beautiful dress! Will you be making a pattern?
Thank you! I’m considering it, yes!
I’d love to be able to wear those kind of dresses. Sadly my bust needs a bra. 😢
I'm actually wearing a bra under this dress, but no straps of course.
