    You just can't beat a Scania V8,powerful smooth and economical and a joy to drive it's better than driving a top quality car,the build quality of these vehicles is outstanding and provided they are maintained properly they will run most other makes into the ground and it doesn't where in the world you operate them.

    Didn't know they had that nice Scania's in the UK :D You normally only see these kinda tricked out trucks in Scandinavia. My God they're beautiful tho, and sound so very nice!

    • @alexveldhuis6004

      Yes, but note the day cab. The chassis isn't allowed to be any longer than a cab over (the front axle), so there is only room for 2 seats. Length restrictions play a role here.

    Scania is 17 years old and has a 14190cc engine..

    • @The_JEB
      @The_JEB 8 років тому +4

      thats pretty average for most large engines in rigs.
      14,190 Cubic Centimeter's is 14.19L
      or 866 Cubic Inches.

      The 14.2 V8 came out in 1969..the ones today are bored out to either 15.6 or 16.4 litres for the big banger 730bhp..I used to drive a 14.2-500..twas a beast of a rig, real mountain leveller

    I've always been curious about European trucks and all the headlights. Are they really needed or is it a dress-up thing? I'm not aware of any wide-open spaces over there where these lights could be used without blinding other drivers. I truck up into the far north of Canada where its one big open space and I don't have any extra headlights, don't have much need for them. Can anyone advise me about this?

    • @7892rl
      @7892rl 6 років тому

      Ok. Lights are always good to have. Unfortunately over here we are not allowed to have more than two extra "driving lights" and even they are strictly regulated. Where I travel there are only a few hours of daylight in winter too so this light regulation is a pain. I'm heading up to Whitehorse, Yukon in the morning and today it was -43C up there . I haul new vehicles so I wish these people would come down here ,Edmonton, Alberta, and pick up their damn vehicles when it gets this cold !! What we lack in candlepower we make up for with massive bumpers !!

    Great video, you really need to grease up your loaders though

    • @super6954
      @super6954 8 років тому +3

      These machines work hard for a living ,but I bet they are in the top few of the most looked after and serviced machines on youtube. I don't see John the owner, or Goerge as foreman let guys get away without greasing them regularly even in busy times. Machinery /parts are expensive grease is cheap maintenance. Unreliable junk costs money, and these guys machines need to be in the field working, not broke down or replacing worn out machines due to poor maintenance every 10 minutes.
