What was with Vic's timing at the beginning of this video? Even if he could only hear himself, it was still way off. I am certain that he is a very talented and gifted guitarist, but this was hard to bear. Hope they ae able to pull this together in the future. Such a great song.

I love Vic. Great guy. He is actually the weak link of the band. There has to be an Eddie clone out there chomping at the bit. When Vic plays, he is missing something. I sure his original music is great but we need a real Van Halen player on these classics

Because it's not a matter of "I'm not hearing the drum properly" you can literally see he is just improvising some parts to see if it fits. It happened to me once or twice and I can say it does not make you feel ok with it.

The intro tempo transition is very tricky to turn the riff around and invert it to the drums...it sounds like Vic and Bonham kept adjusting to each other at the wrong time. Bonham should just let Vic free time the intro and then 4 count the drums to lead into the transition inverted riff.
I disagree, me and my drummer used to screw around with this riff off the cuff when we were teenagers and never had problems. No legit reason a bigger band shouldn't have been able to cattch it in rehearsal sessions. They sound like a bad middle school cover band
Vic Johnson is absolutely terrible on every Van Halen cover he plays on. The only songs he doesn’t completely fuck up are the keyboard tunes, he still fucks up the solos on those songs, but since the keyboards due most of the work they are almost passable.
