I’m a maintenance worker at a hospital. We have a lot of the arm gates like that, and they stop working all the time. And people just drive through them all the time. They break and people get pissed off about it. Not saying it’s right, but its definitely normal
I feel like working in a hospital already has so many stresses similar to pilots in the risk and time sensitivity. People have been trying to keep it together all day and they do so well with patients and their jobs that by the time it's time to move on, you're all out of niceness
We have a car park at work, people drive through the barriers all the time without even trying to pay. Our systems work great. I use the car park myself and haven’t had an issue in 5 years.
It’s not normal don’t be lazy and fix it
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣 all niceness is gone, bcuz it's time to go home and rest, people are extremely exhausted and just want to relax
The mechanisms for the barrier are quite straightforward - a servo motor to raise and lower it, controlled by some microcontrollers and sensors. The system must be seen as a whole and maintenance crews need to look at every component and how it interacts with each other. But very often, because the barrier is exposed to all weathers, the weather sealing gets degraded and moisture messes up the electrics, including the motor and sensors. Maintenance needs to change the seals regularly as well.
How many times has this person been offended by that thing.
Im 100% positive its been broken and causing EVERYONE grief forever and NOBODY will fix it.
Thats whats going on.
The jerks in charge of the thing dont have to be subjected to it.
So they dont care how much trouble it causes people. They think its funny to aggravate people to the breaking point. I see this BS every single fn day.
Especially knowing he has to control the plane for hours on end and I’m sure he just wants to go home (if that’s where he was heading)
Ah, the poor baba! He was "offended" by a parking barrier 👶🍼
Pathetic.
He's a fucking pilot on 250k a year. If an inanimate object like a simple parking barrier "offends" him that much, I'd hate to see how "offended" he gets when he flying a FUCKING PLANE.
Your take is insane. He shouldn't be anywhere near an airport. He need to be in an institution.
Yep, having to keep your emotions in check and dealing with stressful work eventually a small aggravating thing breaks a person. Or maybe he encountered a Karen, and this is the result.
Well you made a lot of that up, but even so, if this is your reaction to continued small annoyances that don’t go away, go seek mental help, and definitely don’t have a stressful job where lives are in your hands
@@JC-bs5pd you think this guy just got pissed for no reason.

It's not a small annoyance when your stuck behind this BS and you have a plane to catch. How stupid are you. Your a bootlicker. The kind of person that lets people walk all over you and you say oh well. How about you grow a pair and fight back against this life/time/money stealing BS evil people.
I got stuck in Atlanta a few months ago when all the card readers went down and the gates wouldn't open. It was about 15 cars waiting but they wouldn't just let us go despite it not being our fault. I was calling the police when they finally got it to work because it felt like a kidnapping when they wouldn't let us leave. They make millions on parking but still couldn't lose a few dollars by allowing a few cars to leave. I understand his frustration.

Can you believe that pilot was 63 years old the time when this happened last summer at Denver Airport? Great shape! United Airlines pilot Kenneth Henderson Jones sacked the heck out of it. He said he reached a breaking point and wanted to help the line up of cars stuck. He agreed to pay the $700 repair bill, took a diversion program and 30 hours of community service. He has a clean criminal record… never been in trouble with the law. His plea agreement means he will not get a criminal record for his deed against the machine.
Your story might be factual…but the part about his age must be an error. The man in this video is clearly younger than 63🤭🤣
@@davidbanner9851 it’s not an error. I was floored as well when I read he was 63.
I had to look it up and yes he was 63 at the time. He looks like he’s in his 40s! 😮
The barriers are able to be unbolted, surely? And likely are designed to break off in an accident?
Of what relevance is his age?!
The security theater at Denver International is extremely frustrating, and I have heard many complaints about it from people who work out of this airport... So I'm not surprised.

Oh? I've been there before. And all I did was press the intercom button for help, and the issue was resolved in a matter of minutes. And that was in a developing country, not a first-world country.
This is relatable. Our gates for the airport employee lot don’t work half the time.

Wtaf are you on about?
This in an insane thing to do. This guy operates a fucking PLANE with innocent civilians on it! He needs to be level-headed. This is an emotional outburst that belongs NOWHERE near a plane.
Men are too emotional to be pilots. They need to go to therapy instead, but their ego always gets in the way, and they think their too good for therapy or something stupid like that.
Instead, they carry a fucking fire axe around, and attack parking barriers.
Pathetic.
I just appreciate him mentioning how many other people are dealing with it, not just all about him being important and late. Talk about someone really looking out for the customer.
We literally had to do this at an underground parking lot last week everyone was stuck underground for an hour because of the faulty opening thingy everyone kept pressing the help button and the people on the other side weren’t doing anything so someone brave got out their car broke the gate down so literally everyone could leave. I come back the next day and guess what the gate is still faulty and was faulty for the better part of two days.
Every gate has a spring, so you can push it, and it will remain open. It's like emergency doors. If it doesn't have the system, you can sue them, it violates the fire hazard regulations. Just push it. No need of an axe
That's why i drive f150
Dude, the bigger question would be, “what is the pilot driving around with an axe in his car for?”. Is this his version of “ I carry it to chop up the tree that’s fallen over the road I’m driving on”? Something has been brewing here for a while.
I'll take a wild guess and say that this was not the first time he got stuck at the gate not being able to leave after having paid for parking so he brought an ax with him to deal with the problem the next time it happened
This is all of us trying to close an account with any of the cell phone carriers. Or, being told we are on standby for a seat we already booked and paid for 😂
