fellow college student in LA area who studies science and boulders too no wayyyy p.s. your video quality is amazing and super unique, very refreshing to watch
hey hey!! omg i wish i was still a college student, i graduated last year :-(( RIP i just did my taxes yesterday someone H E L P... but thanks so much!! see you out in J tree!! :-)
i was so scared to climb outside when i first started climbing!! especially after hearing how hard it was. i hope you get outdoors super soon, you might be surprised by how well you do!! :-)
My girlfriend and I just outdoor bouldered for the first time up at Tramway and we were blown away by how much harder it was than indoor. The biggest barrier was definitely mental though! We were struggling through 0s and 1s! Still had such a blast and can't wait to get out again soon. Definitely have to make Bishop one of our next trips!
I get your video on my feed as I've just returned from a morning of easy bouldering and fun traverses on the beautifully carved limestone cliffs near my home in the south of France, in the mountains behind Nice. My dog - a very cute pomeranian - was there too. Cheers!
dang you must have been pumped on that v3! Hung on forever going for it I was on the edge of my chair hoping youd pull it! and as I'm typing this comment you SENT IT. hoping to make it down there this fall and your video was a great intro to the area! climb on
millertyme714 hahah thanks!! i was super pumped, but able to push through since this was a project of mine :-) that’s so exciting!! hope you eventually make it out!
Stoked to have found your channel. It is definetly seen in your videos that your put a lot of effort into post production (editing). Your super positive and goal driven as well as being local, so your content is awesome. thanks for sharing in your climbing, and if i run into you and your group along with my son ill be sure to say, hello.
i'm so glad you found my channel too! i do put in a lot of time in post production, but i love the process of video editing so much that it doesn't feel like work :-) and YES, if you ever see me around, please say hi!!
Yesss!! I've been so stoked to get back outdoors after this trip. But it's rained every weekend since then, which is almost unheard of for LA -__- oh well!
@@andrewschurman3343 i was going to dislike the comment to express my dissatisfaction with aberrant California weather, but thought that might be rude. UGH when will it end??
Great send on monkey hang! Heard your podcast episode on vertical thoughts and have been going through your channel. You should be super proud of yourself! Your videos are so fun to watch and always makes me want to go climb! Keep sending!
Omg the singing part subtitles are so funny 😂😂 been bouldering for roughly four months now. Also I'm studying psychology and biology, so I'd say UA-cam did pretty well with recommending your channel. 😅 Really appreciate your content 😊
I'm so glad you like the music!! It takes me so long to find the right songs for the videos! And yes, it's so worth the trip even if you're not from California! I ran into so many people from the east coast who travelled just to climb... So wild!
i had so much fun!! and yes, you definitely have to come back out, i'm super antsy just thinking about the next time i get out there to try my projects again :-))
Awesome video! I got to go to bishop for the first time for 3 weeks in October so it was cool to get to look back at all these classics. Wish I had your beta for mothership connection, I was so confused on that lol
hey!! sorry this reply is super late, but usually there's an easier downclimb on another face of the wall. but sometimes, the route you climb up is also the downclimb!! which is why it's super important to make sure you've scoped out the rock and the downclimb and feel comfortable that you can do it!
Hi jenn, I've been climbing for like 2 years ish and am climbing around v6 atm, but have never ventured to actual outside boulders. Would you say that it's more fun than indoors or not worth the hassle
that's a good question! when i first started climbing outdoors, i was barely climbing v5 in my gym, and i didn't have a great time outside since my expectations were much too high. i feel like some hardcore OG boulderers would see no point in climbing indoors with no intention of climbing outside, but i personally think that if you try it a couple of times and it's not for you, just stick to indoor bouldering! i will say that there are some outdoor techniques that you won't learn in an indoor gym, and after a couple of tries, i started to really like climbing outside! for me, climbing outside is more about the experience of being in nature and being with supportive friends than it is about sending the highest grades that i can. sorry that this answer was so long, but i hope that it helps!! TL;DR: i'd say to try it more than once, and if you don't like it, no shame in sticking to indoors :-)
@@JenniferLangen yeh i completely agree tbh, as soon as im able to drive ill probably end up going on a weekend roadtrip to some good bouldering areas in my country!

As a fellow STEM student boulderer in LA, I agree lol
there are some pretty good jams in this. And as someone who just started climbing, this makes me want to get better and try outdoors.
i was so scared to climb outside when i first started climbing!! especially after hearing how hard it was. i hope you get outdoors super soon, you might be surprised by how well you do!! :-)

apparently it's pretty rare to have a weekend that sunny in bishop in January!! we were so lucky to catch the sun and climb in T-shirts :-D

Silly question, but how do you get down from highballs? Or natural boulders in general? Like especially the harder ones
hey!! sorry this reply is super late, but usually there's an easier downclimb on another face of the wall. but sometimes, the route you climb up is also the downclimb!! which is why it's super important to make sure you've scoped out the rock and the downclimb and feel comfortable that you can do it!
Cool vid guys, just wanBering how you got down from the top of Heavenly path
there is actually quite a tame downclimb on the other side of the boulder! way easier going down than going up, in that instance.
Cool, that’s good to hear
