First, sorry for the long comment. I have a suggestion. Too many woodworking/DIY creators have gotten too big. By that I mean that they are all about the build out of their shops, way beyond the average hobbyist. And so have many of their "projects". There are a lot of people of here that are just starting out and need help with regular home and home shop projects. It sounds like that's what you will be doing again. I can't wait to watch what you do.

That's exactly my goal for this channel - I'll definitely try to keep it simple in terms of projects, but don't get upset if I take out my planer, jointer, or CNC!

I agree with your first part. But I understood his direction for the channel to be going the opposite way and to start charging for “premium content” and plans, including a subscription.
UA-camrs have gotten to the point of making 9 minutes of their 10 minute videos to be advertisements and promotions for free items they receive. I get this is your income, but it consumes the entire content.
Good luck. I’m sticking around to see where this goes.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty new here. But the reason I subbed is for the basic builds. I feel like too many creators move on to bigger better things, but that leaves us who don’t have the time to commit to anything bigger, searching for basic builds. Keep it simple.

A couple things that would be cool to see. Project Rewinds (revisiting past builds with what upgrades you'd do or have done), Builds for Kids (either for kids, by kids w/supervision or a fun bonding project for parents & their kids), Holiday projects (Halloween, Veteran's Day, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc.). Just a few things I'd personally like to see and some that I look for fairly regularly. Good to see you back!

Glad to see that things seem to going well for you! When someone you watch regularly on UA-cam disappears you really begin to wonder why. It is nice to hear that inspiration can disappear from others, also, as I can definitely hit that wall sometimes.
Can't wait to see what videos come up next. I really like learning about the techniques that can used on different woodworking projects then just the specific build, so I am confident that whatever you put up will have good pointers.

Hey man, just discovered your channel, and already love it. I would like to see all kind of house furniture videos, like ideas for a home office, a bedroom, kitchen, and if you could talk more about how to begin, what kind of tools you would recommend for beginners and stuff, well, that's me trying to contribute with some video ideas hahaha. Keep doing the grat work, and I'll keep watching your channel. Peace!!

Looking good my man. I still go back to the floating nightstand video at east once a week. Mostly for inspiration. I had a cooking UA-cam channel and I kinda lost inspiration so I feel ya on that regards. I love casual builds, hurry back my man and we will be here .

Quick question. Any of the Woodshop “stuff” you built for the old house, did you bring it all to the new house? Or did you plan to build new?

so ive just started getting into woodworking and a big problem ive been having already is the outfeed side of my table saw. anytime im cutting something big, i have to get another foldout table, set it up and then add some 2x4s with another flat surface on those that comes close to the height of my table saw. i am only working with a 1 car garage for my "shop" so i think it would be awesome if you could make some kind of outfeed table on casters that also has some storage options in it.

    • @CasualBuilds

Your $50 pine board got me here today but that board by my calculations you were making $7 to $9 per board gross numbers look good
But get real with us that Wang a side hustle any vids redone after 22-18 months with new insights or minor twists to help us make a little
More profit of sakes! Will garner increased views. Small quick to make small items that have a good margin will get you watch time

Often times content creators begin as woodworkers or DIYers and show off those things then move in to being salesman. By that, I mean tool testing of all kinds to generate an income from those companies which is great to a point but the initial focus of the channel goes away and we are left watching tool reviews. However, you do what works for you and building your channel but I do like getting ideas from projects that I can use or learn from. Oh, and use whatever tools you have including a cnc as I think they are really cool and may want to try one myself one day

    • @CasualBuilds
      @CasualBuilds  Рік тому +1

Since this isn't my full-time gig, I'm less concerned about maximizing the profit of my channel at this point. I'll keep it DIY and beginner friendly!

I for one had not noticed your absence from UA-cam. There are just too many good woodworking channels on here. One observation though, and that is that those so-called creators with "premium" content for their Patreon subscribers, usually end up losing regular subscribers due to the perceived Patreon entitlement syndrome.
