I’ve been obsessed with watching roller skating videos and unboxings, so I figured I’d share mine. Products: MOXI jack boot in size 4.5 and color black Radar energy wheels in aqua 57mm
I am commenting for future jackboot buyers 😆 i wear a 8 1/2 men’s so unfortunately i always have to order my skates in a 9 and just double up on the socks because I’m too cheap to get them custom made in a 8.5. I wasn’t sure what size to get in the jacks because i heard that they run smaller than the Lollies. I also heard that they were 2 different designs and that is why. So i purchased a moxi ice boot that i had custom made into a quad and it was size 9. I have 4 pairs of skates all size 9 and this was the only skate that was snug to my feet and break in time was not fun. Now they are perfect! This made me question which size i would be in the jack being that the ice boot is the same design as the lolly and the lolly runs bigger than the jack. So i knew a 9 may be too small in the jack. I didn’t know if i should get a 9 1/2 or a 10. After talking to a skate shop person, they had told me that when they first got their jacks they were too small and they regret not getting a half a size up. She told me to go a half a size up from my original skate size. My original skate size would probably be an 8.5, but i get a 9 since most skates don’t come in half sizes. So i ordered a 9.5 in my jacks and they were absolutely a perfect fit. A 9 would have been too small although all of my other skates are a little big on me except for my moxi ice boot which is a 9 but was snug before i broke them in. My point is size up at least a half a size in the jacks. I had to size up a size in a half and they fit perfect. Had i gotten my original size which is a 8.5, I’m sure i wouldn’t been able to fit them and if i would have gotten a 9 they would have been still way too tight. They run small, size up because the break in period will be painful. It took me 3 months to break in my ice boots skating 4-5 days a week and the jacks are much thicker and firm than the moxi ice boots.
I’m really glad you were able to get the right fit. Crazy enough they felt almost too small at first getting my true men’s size 4 1/2 and now that the padding has broken down they are just right and I could have even gone down 2 whole sizes but I’m glad I didn’t. You are very right to do ur research for your particular size.
I wear a woman’s US 6 and a mens 4.5 , for the jackboot size 4.5 it fits exactly like a vans 4.5 in mens. The Jack boot is a little softer than the panther and really molds to your feet. I think a 4 in the Jack for a us womens 5 would be a tiny bit big but I prefer a tight fit. I hope this helps!
Hello love, unfortunately I haven’t tried it or seen anyone else mention it, but I do know that if the pivot cups need to be changed for a larger size to fit the larger penny trucks, then it needs to be done before the plates are installed. Because the pivot cups can only be changed from the top side of the plate. I hope this helps!

I am a women's US size 5 street shoe. I have been skating comfortably in a size 4 moxi panther boot. How would you say the sizing compares?
