So true about the large boxes, we only use them to actually put in the truck and then we put smaller boxes inside and if you get a dolly then you can move the whole big box inside to unload load. But having it just on the truck helps keep things organized and stacked better if they are strong enough.
We get apple, orange, potatoe and banana box's from one store and liquor box's with dividers for some smaller stuff such as glasses. (The dividers can also be used in drawers) We use tea towels and other kitchen linens as well as paper for the wrapping.

The last time I moved in a huge hurry, I used unwashed laundry to wrap dishes, then as I unpacked I threw the laundry into the washer and the dishes into the dishwasher. Lol It worked out and it was free!!
I should probably add that I didnt use clothes with any visible nastiness on them or underwear... it probably wouldn’t have mattered, but it still grossed me out too much.

Once a cabinet or drawer is empty, put a small piece of painter's tape on it to show that it is completely empty so you aren't opening and closing the same cabinet and drawer over and over to make sure it is empty. Currently in the process of packing up our home of 16 years to move from Missouri to Texas.

This Crazy Life at least 2 more years, my husband is going to a bible college here. We moved with 3 kiddos, I was pregnant with my fourth and drove 😫 never again! Someone drove the truck and we all drove in my husbands truck, towing my suv.. it was crazy. I will happily fly if we move back to Florida 😂 your new house is gorgeous, love the layout and colors! Oh and I am so going to use the dot system for upstairs/downstairs in our next move. We have to move in May again because the house we’re renting is in foreclosure.. God help me 😭

I know it's old, but I thought I might add that anytime I go to Marshall's/Homegoods I ALWAYS ask for as many sheets of packing paper they can give me (like when you buy ceramics/glassware etc.) I use it as a clean up layer when I do meal-prep (LITERALLY grab the 4 corners and toss!), for arts and crafts for our daughter and I stocked up for the purpose of our last move. It was one last thing that I had to buy. I also save the brown perforated filler paper from Amazon packaging! Hope this helps someone! Love your videos. Just subscribed!

Noah seemed to need you that day and you didn't let packing get in the way of giving him the attention he needed, even though he got in the way of your packing - lol. You're a wonderful mom! I was wondering if Noah, being such a smart kid, might have had thoughts that someone was moving out without someone else... My son did, so that's where I'm coming from.
For clothes, and it helps to put a large garbage bag inside one of those medium boxes and drape it over the edge and fill it with clothes to keep them smelling fresh.
Biggest tip that helped us in the past is calling in a mama's helper or having kids go to the neighbors, if they're not feeling sick. I'm sorry that you had to struggle through this one.
hi, amanda! i am so glad you are moved already because this was a lot of packing to be done. i learned the box size lesson when we did a remodel. the large ones were too dang heavy to pick up so i ended up dragging them. never again. great idea about using the styrofoam plates as buffers. nice you had a helper in luke. he is a fine young man, imho! take care ~k

We'll be moving our daughter into her first apartment later this spring, and a lot of her kitchen items are Christmas/birthday presents in unopened original boxes. Will they need any additional protection before being loaded into the moving pod/van, or will just labelling them with color-coded tape and a marker be enough?

Just so you know those boxes come the flaps connected because if you build it with the flaps down you don't have to worry them getting in the way.

If they’re packed from the factory/store, I would just leave them in their original packaging💕

a pulley ♥️ you can also used colored duct tape too if you want to be super specific on which room 😉
Most moving boxes have the rooms listed on the side. You simply check it with a marker.
