I think the little house was a well-pump house. I had something similar to that on my property and then I buried it properly and removed the building.
I just love watching the two of you making memories in that very rustic 'kitchen'. One day you look back on cooking over that open fire and tell your grandchildren about it.
My late husband always said that he believed that what you were doing late on New Year's Eve was what you were going to be doing most of all during the coming year. So you two will be working on your chateau and laughing, cooking together and playing music and looking at each other with happiness in your eyes!
