Perfect wind for that lovely girl, she was prancing, loved this video as I can no longer sail so this was a wonderful little vicarious cruise, thank you so very much!
Finnish guy living in Belgium here. There's a Nauticat 33 next to us in the harbour and the owners are very happy with it. They pretty much live on board the whole short Finnish summer;) Nauticats do sail better than you would expect and it's a pity many people just motor around with them. That 90hp is plenty of power for that size. Out boat is self-built based on Endurance design and around 40ft and also much heavier
I love your channel! I would suggest, even if you don’t speak English, subtitles would help. I showed your videos to my friends and they liked them, but they would prefer to hear or at least SEE English. Fair winds!
thank you for your comment. i will discuss it. the information of interest to the public is already included in English as text and displayed in the video. yours sincerely.
I’ve been a Nauticat fan for a long time. My dream boat is the S&S 43! I am curious why you removed the mizzen boom. Was that just to make way for a solar panel?
Hello. indeed the 2nd boom has been removed to make room for the large solar panel. This system functions as a bimini against the sun. Furthermore, we sail a lot on the 2 headsails and the rear boom is a danger to the head, because the cockpit is not large. with greeting. Martin
Very interesting boat. But I have to ask, for a boat, this size, do you feel that massive engine is necessary? Not judging your choice, just want to know if a smaller engine would be sufficient to push the boat in most conditions?
hello thanks for your message. The Nauticat 36 could then be ordered with an 80 hp or a super 90 hp engine. Super 90 hp engine that has a better system inside with the valve system and runs a bit better than the 80 hp. It is indeed a heavy engine, but the boat also weighs more than 9000 kg. And it's a long-stroke engine. So you can also sail a channel for days or sail very large stretches at sea without any problems. The advantage of a larger and heavier engine is that you put a little less strain on the engine during prolonged use. It is a long-stroke engine and therefore it makes very little revs, but with a lot of thrust. The engine runs just as nicely as a freight car. and to bring 9000 kg to a standstill, it is nice to have extra power. Yours sincerely. Martin
@JAPBKAYAKER Thanks for the response. Indeed, we are not disappointed with the sailing performance of our Nauticat 36. Even high upwind with the small headsail and mainsail set, the Nauticat runs between 5.5 and 6.5 knots. There must be some wind, preferably between 12 and 17 knots of wind. It is a stable and nice sailing ship, partly due to the beautiful slender and narrow front, with the beautifully shaped keel that runs all the way from the waterline to the rudder.

@@yvonne-accordeoniste You can modify the nauticat ketch into a single masted ship also and remove the 2nd mast and put a bigger main mast on.
Super bravo genial performance Nice thanck Joli you Nice 😂🎉😢
This is a ketch without the boom on the mizzenmast?
