The primary reason she focused on for leaving her boyfriend initially was his supposed insensitivity about her weight, and then suddenly she brings out the ordeal about her ill father which seems to have been the much needed additional excuse that allowed her to do what she clearly already desired to do from the start, since she made it abundantly clear that she never had any intention on meeting the man's desire for her to lose weight.

Honestly, if you see yourself being with that person long term fo the work. My husband works out and prior to me having our baby we did it together. After the baby I gained weight and it has been hard to lose it because I am still adjusting to our baby but I am Thankful that he tells me the truth. It does motivate me to get up and get back. I know I do not feel good at this weight and he tells me because he cares, otherwise he would had cheated or left. I tell him all the time just tell me the truth even if it may hurt me and he does.

20lbs is not a lot of weight to lose. If you're really aggressive with your program you can lose that in 2 months. If you're really focused and dialed in, but conservative, 4-6 months.
