      You can adjust and add labels and categories in the settings sheet in the ranges G4:G13 and H4:H23, respectively. You can add up to 10 labels and 20 categories with this template.

    When I change the priority of a task of a tab, such as the "waiting" tab, I ended up using a kludge to properly prioritize it: I moved it to the "completed" tab and then moved it back to the "waiting" tab (where it has been originally). Is there a more efficient way of sorting tasks by priority when I change a task's priority, yet do not move it to another tab?

      Yes, you can use the Sort Table menu option under the Task Board menu.
      The Project Management template includes sorting for any column using a button, which is easier: bit.ly/project-management-template

    Another question: how to I attached google docs/sheets links to the to do task item?

      When you create a task using the Add Task Sidebar the sheet will automatically create a Google Doc and link it to the task title for you, but if you add tasks manually row by row, the automatic Google Doc will not be created or linked.

    I just bought the pro version with the calendar and it already seems great! I really love the automatic doc generation. I was wondering if it is possible to filter all the tasks inside of the "waiting" "backlog" to-do" etc by project category? as i see is possible in the main kanban view. Thank you so much for the template. :)

      You could add a filter row on row 4 for each status sheet. Just select row 4 and then go to the menu and choose Data > Create a menu.
      Once this has a filter applied to it you can sort each table or filter by category or priority for example.

    Is the task a "Google task" so it's on my google calendar with an option to have a reminder? If so is it possible to do it the other way round where I have my list of tasks in my "to do" and I can create "tasks" on my google calendar based off the due dates in the task list?

      Hi @theBabylady, I'm afraid it's not Google Tasks, these will be isolated to the spreadsheet, however, I do have another template with a built-in calendar to show tasks within a calendar in the spreadsheet. You can find this in the video description called 'Pro Task Management with Calendar Template'. You could set up a script to send you an email when tasks are due using this sheet.
      I can also help you with that if you would like to customise one of my templates. You can contact via my website with your requirements if this is something you'd like to explore.

    This would appear to be exactly what I am looking for. I would need it for 3 different areas that I need to manage. With the paid version am I allowed/able to create more of the same template to use to keep my information separate? Like a "save as" for each of my areas of responsibilities? Or would I need to purchase a quantity of 3?

      Great question! When you purchase this template you will be prompted to make a copy of it in your drive. Once you have it saved in your drive you can then head to the menu File > Make a copy to make further copies of the same template within your drive. This will make unique copies of the same template for managing various projects.
      You will need to run through the permissions process on each template as each one will be unique and you'll need to give the sheet permissions in your drive.

      @@spreadsheetwise This sheet looks great and I'm about to buy it, I just have a small question : would it be possible to make multiple copies of the sheet without them interfering in the calendar ? Let's say for exemple I want a specific sheet dedicated to my school study, then another one for music etc.. Will it create a calendar for each project or would it be possible to gather all tasks from different projects into one calendar ?
      (I'm talking here of the pack containing the 'Pro Task Management with Calendar Template'.)

    If I were to buy this, may I give copies of it to people with whom I work? To be clear: I'm not asking you for permission to resell your intellectual property. I have zero intent/desire to compete with you. However, under US copyright law (I live in the US), you own the copyright to the Google Apps Script code you created. Therefore, it would be illegal for me to redistribute your intellectual property without your express permission.

    Does this work with google shared drives? 95% of my work includes google shared drives. Also, I do not want to clutter google shared drives with this management system google docs, sheets, etc. Does that happen? Thanks. I have purchased the system and am currently incorporating it.

      Hi there, each user effectively has to give the sheet permissions to run on their account to create Google Docs etc, therefore the folder will reside locally for each user and not within a shared drive.
      You can share the Task Board folder with other users, but every user will have the same folder name, so you'll need to consider a folder structure to organise tasks across a team.
      I see you ordered the Pro Task Management template bit.ly/pro-task-management but you might find that the Project Management template is more suited to teams as you can assigns tasks to people on this template: bit.ly/project-management-template

    Hi Guys, this script is very helpful. I'll use it to order my job task, I already purchase it but, I need to know how can I add process sheets? This sample has 5 process steps, but I need at least 2 more. On the other hand, I want to connect this spreadsheet with Gmail, using GmailApp module on google scripts matching the column status with the labels I created in my gmail and add a step changing the email label from the spreadsheet when the status change. Do you have any recommendation for it?

      Hi It's possible to add additional sheets/steps but the Google Apps Script will need to be updated to reflect these extra steps. You can contact me via my website to discuss further if this is something you wish to explore.
      Connecting it to Gmail labels is a whole different level of complexity, which this sheet is not capable of I'm afraid. If you want this sort of synchronisation between tasks and Gmail, you might need to consider an off-the-shelf solution for task management and use a service like Zapier to automate these changes as what you talking about would get very complicated using Apps Script in Sheets and Gmail.

    Hi, I just bought the pro version to use for my business a few days ago. It’s been a great help to sort the different tasks out! I was wondering though, is it possible to add a new tab (a refund list) to the same sheet without messing up the existing tabs (by tabs, I’m referring to “taskboard”, “backlog”, etc)? Thank you for this amazing product!

      Hey @jabigaeltan, Thanks for your message. You can add another tab, sure, but the Apps Script that runs the automation does refer to those specific tab names there already, so as long as you don't change the existing sheet names you should be fine.

    Here's a suggestion... add the ability to assign tasks to other people, and enable those other people to view tasks in a similar, yet different Google Sheet. After all, "No man is an island."

      @@spreadsheetwise I looked at that. It doesn't contain the feature I was looking for. I didn't explain myself properly. I don't want to merely assign tasks to people on my team; I want them to be able to manage tasks I assign to them in, well, ummm, in To-Do Task List Management in Google Sheets just like I can.
      Your model is analogous to air traffic controller communicating with airplane pilots; my model is, well, it's the way colleagues normally work with one another.
      Technically I suppose it might work like this: when I choose to assign a task to a member of my team, let's call him Joe, the GAS would create a link to that task I had created in Joe's "To Do" tab. There would be a column called "Assigned By". For tasks I had assigned, the name would be "Ken."
      Joe wouldn't be able to move that task without my permission (because I would "own" the task). If Joe completed the task he'd need to try to mark it as "Completed", but he'd see a message, "Please type a brief message to Ken indicating why you would like him to mark this task as complete."
      Then, GAS would update a cell under a column labeled "Assignee Request" To-Do Task List Management in Google Sheets with Joe's message such as, "Are you kidding? I'm not going to do this! Just kidding, I completed it. Please see my comments in docs.google.com/document/d/1fqitEv-9BQS1WLIKcaxuuxiIxNTNPpjRz1mBBKiq3Ik"
      Next to the "Assignee Request" column would be a column labeled "Approve or Deny Request." which would normally be blank, except in the case a request had been made. In Joe's case, radio button with 2 labels would appear: "Approve request" (to mark the task as complete) or "Deny request" (which would not mark the task as).
