They are great knives! I have the otter bee. I will be getting more. The bee model is stainless though. When the blade is stamped Rostfrei it means stainless.

Very true, knives made in Germany have something very special about them! I own some Boker slipjoints but have yet to get me an Otter, I've been spending all my money on Benchmades 😂. Have you had a look at their 'Hippekniep' model? It's Otter's version of the bullnose, looks lovely! If Otter-knives are hard to get in the US we should get in touch, I'd be happy to buy one over here in Europe and ship it on to you. Thanks for sharing!

Preach to the choir brother! I have all the variants of the 🐝 and my Buckthorn is a HARD user. Its probably my favorite all around knife. I would be happy carrying my Boker Copper Micarta and my 🐝 for the rest of my life. I recently got an Otter Beluga and it’s just as special. Totally in love with it. My Otter collection is ridiculous. After a Hubertus next. 😅😅

Totally agree with on quality. Folks don’t understand they have an understated German design aesthetic, but are tight and use great materials. And Otter has their steels dialed in. The Beluga is N690 and holds a nice edge, and easy to sharpen. Sorry, I get carried away German knives too. 😂

Otter knives are extremely well built EDC knives. I am fortunate to live in a location in Europe where I can acquire them for cheap. Keep on collecting! PS: check out the Otter Draco. You will love the blued stabilized poplar wood on the handle!

And to answer your question yes absolutely I lightly rub the handles with exactly that mineral oil I love that stuff…. You have to do that wood dries out plus it brings that grain out of the wood!!!!! Great question I appreciate you brother😊

Have one of the Ray Mears green handled Mercators and the quality is shockingly good. Wanted one of the three rivet knives for even longer than the Mercator and am kicking myself because you are correct, the price has gone up recently. Still worth it for an Otter though. Beautiful knives.
