Hi Dimples, So happy to see you more active on this platform. We need you!! You bring intelligence and articulation to the gig economy! You said it!! Grown men who should know better are NOT doing better. I am repulsed and am so embarrassed by their behavior. Could it be more obvious they attempt to bring others down, with the hopes of bringing in the views? NO THANKS. This is Coat tailing and insecurity, at its finest. I am here for your chit chats and respect you for saying what we all think. I see right through them. 💛

I never see an &85 batch & I am a five star shopper who lives in a large affluent area. I did get a $71 batch on Saturday, but it was 108 items, 225 units. The tip dropped some because of out of stock items but they also gave me cash at delivery so I ended up making $84 on it. Took me 3 hours. Their bill was just over $800! It was a challenge but I like a challenge! It was also a lot of produce!

  • @JustJoe83

I agree Dimples. Once she saw the units and the details of the dog food/water etc....it pretty much became her own fault for continuing with it. You are right, we do not know her full situation and how slow it was. If she needed the money, she needed the money. But why complain when you saw what you were getting upfront and what the order entailed? The entire time you were talking about the mini mansion, I kept saying don't judge a book by its cover and then you said it. In this case, don't judge a person by their shelter 😉 One of my biggest tippers in my market lives in a home that looks a little worse for wear, not the people who live in the mini mansions. Maybe she had to go through this to learn her lesson like you said.

In my area, it is similar to her area, and that the orders go really fast so if there is a good order you do have to swipe really fast to get it but I have learned to look really fast at the numbers before I do anything like it’s something that you’ve got to get yourself accustomed to doing so that you don’t screw yourself. It’s literally the second you’re looking at the number you look quickly down at dinner items or look at it Asher pressing on it and it seems to work pretty well for me.

Spot on Dimples! That is a self-inflicted wound by the shopper. As you correctly pointed out, there were many opportunities for the shopper to cancel the order. This is why I keep my cancellation rate low. I hope this is a lesson learned for that shopper and others as well. I thrive on handling difficult situations, but I also know when to walk away, which I had to do once.

I’m with you, Dimples. If it were me and I picked it in haste and saw over 100 items I would have dropped it. Period. The end. The pay wouldn’t have mattered to me. And frankly, it’s none of our business how people live or what their profession is. People are going to tip what they want to. You can see the tip before you take the order with Instacart, so to expect more is foolish. That’s on her.

I would no way in hell take an order with that many items, honestly, I only take small orders at this point because I’m new and not the fastest shopper, so I stay with small orders. I have a full time job, but need to supplement that income so I can pay some bills down, so I don’t mind taking smaller orders as long as the delivery location is not too far. I also do DoorDash and I just got my shirt and card for Shipt, I work nightshift so that leaves me the whole day to do the apps.

I canceled my first batch on my own not by customers request. It sams club 6 items $30. 4 miles. I sent my intro as usual as I'm walking into the store. Grabbed the items started my batch scanned everything went to checkout. Messaged my closing outtro. Customer says wait your done? Can I add? And me being me I thought it would have been fine because a couple items no big deal. Detergent was added, grapes were added, 4 more things after that were added that would have dragged me all over the store. The 6 items he wanted were all in the same section. I couldn't do it I canceled one because it was getting frustrating, 2 because my tip wasn't going to go up by much so it wasn't worth it

Does anyone know if "order issues" effect a shopper, and how? It's possible to be a 5 star shopper, yet still have customers report missing or damaged items, or wrong items, even though the items scanned, and were literally exactly what was ordered. How many of these issues are we allowed to have? I take pictures with time stamp camera to prove the items were not actually missing, wrong, or damaged, and report fraud, but instacart is so slow to investigate, if they even investigate at all, that the issues fall off from completing 100 more batches, and I never hear anything about my fraud report. I have been a victim of several fraudulent order issues lately.
Refunded items being reported missing, scanned items being reported wrong, intact items being reported damaged.

Thank you for your videos. You definitely have to multi app to make enough money. Not only that, but if I am tired of doing one, I can try doing another one for a while. Really good batches over 30 dollars in the austin area are few and far between, so when I got an 80 dollar triple batch this morning I snached it up. It was a hassle shopping for 60 items for three customers, but the delivery part of it wasn't bad. I like delivering the best, so that's why I also do Amazon Flex. I also agree that if a batch isn't worth it, it's just not worth it and sometimes you just have to cancel and take the hit.

After shopping for almost 2 years I have learned Pre shop, Pre shop and Pre shop whenever you can this is what allows me to give a customer better attention and I don't run out of time or get stressed out when dealing with a special customer.

I actually had a batch like that once. I was bored, I wasn't getting any batches at all , so I accepted a low paying high item batch.. I played dumb and I asked the customer, " Ma'am please don't take offense but instacart has been messing up lately and for some reason this order looks off, Are you tipping on percentage or are you tipping a flat rate" She said, I am tipping on percentage I'm sorry I can't tip more I have family coming in and that's all I can afford" I wanted to say to her well, if you weren't trying to impress your family by purchasing every kind of fish they have in the meat department , you could afford to tip me appropriately, But obviously I couldn't say that lol The woman drove me absolutely crazy. Then my phone started glitching , I had to go outside to get reception twice and she kept interrupting me by texting me and changing and adding things. I finally parked the cart and texted chat support!! It was a living nightmare and yes I'd learned my lesson!! By the way it was a $17 payout with a 107 items!! CRACRA

The batch pay was 20 but she tipped 40 and once I got there she was an old lady with no family and wanted to talk after I left she added 20 more to my tip. But I definitely don’t swipe fast. When I take a batch the first thing I look at is the amount im being paid , then the tip to see if its worth it in case of a tip bait... then I look at the distance ...then amount of items ...THEN I look at the items they are requesting. Hopefully noone takes the batch but I hate swiping and not knowing where I’m going or what I’m picking up because you’ll be screwed( building with no elevators ; i live in the bx) . Also, when I start shopping for customers I send a couple test messages while shopping if I ask you 2 questions and you don’t reply , anything I don’t see I refund even if I already found it and I don’t ask questions Because the chance to communicate was given in the beginning. I have had two orders where one lady placed an order for liquor and when i got to her house ( she lived in white plains) she wasn’t there for the id check and i had to call CS and she comes out 30 min later like let me keep the liquor I was washing my hair ( girl out her mind CS done cancelled the order) Im not with the hustle and bustle looking for your things especially when there is no communication. When im at check out after shopping for your things an hr later i shouldnt hear ANY request for take backs . Its quiet after that.

I take high tippers only for my area Seattle the tip needs to be $1 an item minimum + what instacart pays. The times I did not follow this because it was late or a slow day and took a bad tip batch I got dinged 75% of the time. They ether claimed damaged items or missing items and many times put in a bad rating with it. My last bad rating came from a 2 million dollar home and they said there paper towels were missing an yes I had photo proof. In that situation the item count was like 33 items the tip was 26 for 2 customers I didn't follow my rule that time and now I'm a 4.94 because of it. Only one removed rating and one 3 star but just those prevent you from getting the best batches. Multi app , get a regular job but do not take shitty batches cancel if its an accident.
