Well, let's hope they don't repeat Sanzaru's cardinal errors:
1) Gross IP Mismanagement (a certain lady being the villain TWICE).
2) 10-hour long loading screens.
3) Terrible cartoon visuals, a massive downgrade for the franchise.
4) Incomplete story.
5) Too much clutter, not enough elegant and immersive gameplay.
As a BIG Sly Cooper fan I never clicked your videos that fast as this if there's a new Sly game in decelopment I really hope it's about Sly Cooper 5: Return of Thieves that I made the name and because Sly 4 ended to a cliffhanger we need Sly return in Sly 5 Bentley, Murray and Carmelita tries to find Sly and there would be more ancestors like the ancient Egypt's ancestor of Sly I hope these rumors are real, but don't believe when I see a real leaks ffom PlayStation studios plz PlayStation Sucker Punch or Sanzaru bring Sly Cooper back to us Return of Thieves! 😢❤
Don't do this to me man. Sly is all I have left to make me happy. I'm so tired of false promises and rumors, take everything with a grain of salt. I'd rather have more conversations about the series itself rather than something that may or not be.
Totally understandable and I totally get where you're coming from. There's plenty to reminisce and discuss with the Sly that we have and it'll always be there. But if we're given a chance to talk about a new Sly, I'm always going to do that too. But I totally get what you're saying

I don’t know if I believe this guy but I don’t know what to expect when Astrobot releases and we hit the year 2025. For the most part, I’m still not gonna give up on Sly Cooper and we still need to bring him out of Egypt!

You know I feel like a major part of this is that the ratchet and clank movie did so bad. Sly had a movie and show being made at the time but I guess they pulled the plug on it after seeing ratchet fail. Sly would have gotten so much more publicity if the show and movie were made and we would had no doubt had another game.
To clarify the Astro Bot stuff - if it does well they’ll throw more resources at it to get it out sooner. Sorry for the murkiness there. I should have been clearer than that and that’s my bad dude. I’ve been a long time subscriber! So I appreciate your covering this. For Astro Sony is expecting 750k - 1m units. If it doesn’t sell great Sly will still happen but not be prioritized. :)

@@ColinLack I really hope this is true, not to mention it would go a long way in explaining why they've teased Sly Cooper on multiple occasions. It would be great if this leads to a revival of the Jak and Daxter series as well, that's probably hopium on my part though.
A Sly Cooper Game wouldn't even need a big budget, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart was made on a budget of just $9 Million Dollars, compare that to God of War 2018 & Horizon Zero Dawn, both had a budget of $40-$45 Million Dollars, and Ghost of Tsushima was $60 Million Dollars. So a game like Sly Cooper or Ape Escape or Jak & Daxter, they don't need anything more than a $10 Million, in fact the smaller the budget the less copies need to be sold overall for it to be considered a success.
I am very curious what the budget was for AstroBot, I can't imagine it being more than $10 Million Dollars.
As much as I want this rumour to be true, the idea that there could be a New PlayStation Studio made up of Sucker Punch & Insomniac Games employees with a passion for Platformers, that alone gets me hyped, but I'm not getting my hopes up either, we've all been burned too many times... but at the same time 😄😄😄
Ratchet and Clank rift apart had a budget of over 80 Mio... Wtf are you talking about???? And God of war had budget of over 150 Mio....
I'd like to have a shirt like that myself. I am another that will never give up hope that Sly Cooper will come back to us someday. A re-telling of the first game but with a few key differences would be just like how they did the modernized Star Trek movies and that would be a great idea. I haven't even heard anyone talk about the possibility of exploring anyone else's family tree. What if Sly went back in time to meet one of Carmelita's ancestors and we finally discover why she takes her police work so seriously?!
Something that is very clear to me is that the Sly Cooper saga must return at any cost, it is one of the most representative franchises of the Playstation brand and it broke it with its remarkable trilogy on PS2. Let's hope he finds something new soon.

I want a sly cooper 5 since sly cooper 4 ending with a cliffhanger but I'm not going to race my hopes up if there going to announced sly cooper 5 trailer in late 2025 to early 2026 I'm going to be happy but if they don't announced I'm going to be unhappy.

As for myself, the best I can say is I don’t know we’ll just have to wait and see. I’m not gonna try and back this rumor up, but neither am I gonna try and destroy hopes. No one can tell the future I’ve come to terms with the most possible outcome that I most likely will never play sly in my lifetime. Things are never set in stone. As doctor m once said time does strange things to people.
Astro needing to succeed for sly to continue just sounds....weird.... but this does sound more believable Lets hope...i preordered astro months ago and managed to get the controller a team of past sucker punch and insomniac devs sounds like a perfect combo
The guy clarified this matter, stating the better AstroBot sells, the more resources that will be thrown at this rumored new Sly Cooper game, pretty much saying the game will happen regardless, but the more AstroBot sells, the more Sony will prioritize the Sly game to ensure it releases sooner rather than later.

It's interesting that the game will probably be some kind of remake and not a sequel as some were expecting.
But I honestly think that it would be the best decision because it's been too long since the previous games were released.
I REALLLYYYY hope this is true and am forever hopeful for more Sly, the only thing giving me pause outside of the Astro Bot thing is the detail about Egypt as the prologue, that sounds almost too detailed for a leak and a bit too good to be true for Sly fans. Still, I'm hoping this is the leak that's the one and we get our favorite raccoon back soon.
it makes perfect sense for insomniac to make a sly cooper game. I litearlly thought they made it when i was young
I do think that the original Sly games were too successful for the IP to just... Rot. But I'm not sure this is it. I'd love some sort of remaster of the original trilogy, similar to what Spyro got, and then maybe use that as a launchpad for some new games. But I'm not sure we're there quite yet. Some day, maybe.
@Podcast Now - There's a Ratchet & Clank inspired game releasing on the 29th called 'Akimbot', do you think you could check it out and maybe bring some attention to it, it genuinely looks like a good game especially if you're a Ratchet & Clank fan. The studio behind 'Akimbot' has even admitted to being a big fan of Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper & MediEvil.

This is just a theory of mine and nothing about this is set in stone but I don’t see any other outcome other than this not happening, sucker punch just announced ghosts of yotei is coming out in 2025, and sucker punch has stated that they want to finish this ghosts of series before doing anything else, well this game turns out to be the last of this series, maybe, just maybe they’ll have time to work on sly 5. But again I say this only time will tell
They’re just rumors do we don’t know until we get an official announcement, but I still hope we will get a new sly cooper game, I even wrote down how a 5th and 6th game can play out for it
