    D9 was a game changer back in the day, mid 50's. Big diesel engine over 1400 cubes! Everyone wanted bigger and better, like HD41 Allis Chalmers dozer. Then the D10 was bigger. This led to the monster machines we have today

    For an old machine, it carries a big load of heavy clay pretty good and it sounds like a new machine, other than paint this one looks really good. And the operator is doing a fine job with it.

    Would you look at that? No computer traction control, no air conditioning - Just a man using his brain and a fine machine.

    A 9G was always a pleasure to operate. Easy on the body and big on guts.

    Jim Vet, how is this feller going to get a D-8 out to the center of this here tank without cutting his way there? That there kitten is going to get thirsty, so knowing that if ye ain't willing to foot the Bill fer the push water it takes for the job, ye ort not mess with heavy equipment. Study I heard done bout 50 years ago, it was more fuel efficient to back a dozer up to 1,000 feet than to keep turning it around all the time. Sounds like everybody on here knows how to do this job better'n the man doing it, but, it's always like that.

    I was in NYC Union operating engineers for 25 years ran all equipment and cranes.
    We had a bunch of Jerk big mouth hot shots who always ran their mouth about all the newbees ...I always tried to teach new guys ...never put down other guys. Heavy equipment guys often think they are top gun pilots. My teen daughter runs a 980 and fills trucks faster than any big mouth guy. Puts them to shame here in Israel we have alot of women running equipment. Shalom

    Nice rig"by the read this is a year old: so I wont feel so bad pointing; asking no belly pans ? & wasting all that fuel pushing one way" not seeing what it looked like before starting the work" it was dry tank by the looks of it" you ought to had been pushing
    from the center out & around; running long wise you had a loaded blade just holding
    the load / pile" what's the fuel tank hold" a job like that 8 hours; that would be 80 percent of the fuel used;of a 100 plus galls'

    So inefficient, pushing a scoop of dirt the length of the pond to the other end. Push it to the side, or use a tracked loader and a truck.

    • @kenh9508
      @kenh9508 4 роки тому

      It always looks inefficient, but add another piece of equipment and then it would look like the truck isn't hauling much, then after a few passes you have to push out the truck that's stuck in the ruts, then he has to go level the piles the truck leaves.
