Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway - The Snowdonian 2023 (DBLM Steam)

Coverage of the annual Snowdonian special train on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways - with a journey from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, return to Porthmadog and then on to Caernarfon and back. Double Fairlie locomotive Merddyn Emrys and Welsh Pony hauled the train on the FR with Garratt loco 143 on the Welsh Highland, joined by Garratt 130 from Rhyd Ddu onwards. Lyd is seen on the 1110hrs Woodland Wanderer service with Garratt 87 on the Gelert Explorer service train from Caernarfon to Beddgelert. Footplate rides at Blaenau were provided by Hugh Napier, Jenny and Eigiau.
Locations included Boston Lodge, Penrhydeudraeth, Tan y Bwlch, Tan y Grisiau, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Tan y Grisiau, Minffordd, Nantmor, the top of the 1/40 climb before Pitts Head and just north of Betws Garmon.

It's a very nice railway! As a technology fan, I'm interested in the bridges/transitions between the Passenger Cars, I don't know of any bridges between the Passenger Cars on small railways
Can you make a little video about these bridges and how it works? I would be very grateful

I'm pleased you liked it. Totally agree about the Tan y Grisiau sequence - something extra magical about steam and old housing, old fencing, etc - in close proximity - and the b+w adds extra authenticity perhaps.

Thank you Mr Jones! The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland are such superb railways - and the mountains, the slate, the housing, Tan y Grisiau and those two locomotives just call out for the monochrome treatment, I reckon.....

Very nice video with some interesting viewpoints, but the section on the WHR was disproportionately short,
I'm pleased you appreciated it - I had other commitments late afternoon - such that filming opportunities for me had to end at the extended stop at Waunfawr. I will endeavour to do justice to the WHR at the forthcoming WHR Centenary event!
