Keep in mind that it's a Porre that was purpose built by an immortal Dalton starting in Antiquity times. He personally boosted the technology of the kingdom ahead by enough to become an empire, and he had first hand experience with fighting them during the mid to late game. This happens as a result of the butterfly effect from Serge surviving and breaking the timeline. So it's not just some village anymore, it's had the knowledge of aircraft carriers since before the middle ages. And its immortal leader did so because he was malding and seething from losing to the gang.
Even Chrono Cross mentions that there are other dimensions beyond the 2 they knew of threw there adventure. It's a secret(or semi secret) conversation that appears in Chronopolis when you examine a computer archive data system in the Record of Fate analysis room. My take on that is that the Crono and co you control and get to love in CT is part of Dimension 3+ wherein they live. In dimensions 1 and 2 their fates are possibly tragic.
You know, the more I keep thinking about Chrono Break considering the circumstances since it's trademark has expired. I think Square Enix should just give up the rights to Chrono Trigger and just give it to Nintendo. Thumbs up if you agree.
If there was a 3rd game in the series I would have a story revolving new characters... Story could be a main character journey meeting a mentor (who is a older future version of himself) to fight the main evil (Who is a a much much older version of himself)...
If you play the rom hack - Chrono Trigger: Flames of Eternity, it was put together using all the resources and lore from Chrono Compendium and is essentially an unofficial sequel to Chrono Trigger and Cross. It’s a very fun game and story. Just load up your favorite SNES emulator and find the rom.
i played Crimson Echoes! from what i'm reading now, they are pretty similar. Some plot elements from this series are definitely inspired by those games, especially Part 4 (coming in May!) Thanks for watching!

The first mistake almost every Chrono series fans make is assuming they'd want to go back to Trigger's story, and not be even more radically different than Trigger or Cross.
Schalla being saved is not about the altering of world affairs but rather that humanity is proven to belong to the world not as parasites like Lavos, himself a stranger to the world (and deviating the natural evolution to make Humans the main species), but entities capable of existing in harmony with nature. This is why you have to play the Melody of Life against Lavos' continuous discord in the final battle. It is very much like the NU, possibily the first forms of "life", when they tell you the elemental sequence to open doors in Zeal. Elements clearly have an ancestral sequence. Schalla has literally been waiting an eternity to see on wether side you fall into. The Schalla/Lavos fusion is the "Entity" speculated in Trigger, for their dillema is what leads everything else. A layer of destiny above FATE, the Dragon Gods and every other competing timeline. Of course, for Lavos and Schalla that eternity is also just an instant, for they reside in the darkness BEYOND time. Likely they got the answer depending on the ending you get. But of course the world itself doesnt change. The world of Cross was purely deterministic, with other entitites always being a step ahead of you, you never being able to act on free-will, like in Trigger. It is only after solving the Lavos-Schalla dillema that you are able to exercise free-will, for then there still is the decisive factor on who gets to Darkness Beyond Time first? Lavos' Avatar: The Frozen Flame, or Schalla's Avatar: Kid? One to prove that humanity is parasitic and meant to be like Lavos and to outgrow their initial conditions to be cosmic conquerers like itself, or Schalla who believe you are one with the whole and capable to understand the price of progress, that planets themselves are living beings capable of being impregnated with life and not just sources for an harvest. The actual world's politics and such are layers beneath this. And so, if Break were to happen, it would finally be about the unfication of Trigger's and Cross's main themes: Free-Will and Determinism = Compatibilism. So you would finally be able to interact with the world as-is, though aware of what it means messing with time-traveling: all those futures that didn't get to exist. This could possibiliy lead to more complex and though-out time traveling possibilities, akin to something like Radiant Historia where to find the best future there needs to be trial and error (though, hopefully, not butchering the game's pacing like Historia).

For me the priority for a Chrono 3 would be neatly fitting itself into the Trigger story, and not doing anything with the Cross additions. As soon as you want to bring Cross into it, you need to import all of its complexities. Quietly not mention and not contradict any of the alternate dimensions confusion. Would love to see 1005-ish as the present time, and then add in some eras that weren't available in Trigger for something new. And getting the original cast back together!

The things that killed chrono cross are 1. No dual, triple, quad or "name the number" tech 2. Charas barely have any tech/magic 3. Theyre using this one time element thing which can be purchased and used by literally anyone and everythning 3. No uniqueness of what a chara has and could do with their elements, and techs.. Ao the battle "element" from CT is destroyed 4. To many unimportant and unneeded chara.. Theyre there just for decorations.. They dont even has strong sidestoryline like CT after Chrono saved by the Time egg 4. To much freedom.. They dont have this one strong backbone or line to follow, theyre just messin around explorin nothin For the one who doesnt played CT will get confused by point 3 and 4
Where'd you get the sound effect at 3:04? I remember Luminaire sounding like that from when I was a kid playing this game on my brother's computer back in the late 90s on ZSNES. I assumed it was because of the primitive version of the emulator we were using. I remember wind sounds (Death Peak comes to mind) and and other spells sounding very different on that emulator.

The reason why Porre Invaded El Nido is because of Lynx, therefore by wiping Fate of which Lynx is the living embodiment, nothing leads to think Porre would have still bare agressivity. That is ofc, disregarding what I consider a truly baffling addition in the DS version stating that it was Dalton who would assemble a military force in Porre, therefore completely disregarding Lynx's backscene manipulations of the Nation. This Dalton bit IMO is a perfect example of an unnecessary retcon that completely contradicts the Canon already in place for absolutely no reason than for adding content's sake.
Late, but I think Dalton Boosted Porre's tech to be significantly better than Guardia, which is why it was able to attack and get a win against it. Lynx's manipulations just had it pick El Nido as an additional target beyond what Dalton had planned.
I dont think the "Promethean Circuit" is literally Robo. Robo never got to existy in the timeline Lucca belongs to due to altering the future. But she could have rebuilt one robot in memory of Robo (which is seen in one of the PS1 cutscene endings of trigger), and that could end up having been the new "Prometheus"

Fuck with Square Enix executives, they know how to shit on their games as anyone, and is no surprise how they almost got bankrupt when they made that final fantasy movie in the 2000's. If the remaster sells well maybe they'll do a remake for chrono trigger. They took 20 years to remake ffvii.

@@BreakwavePT haha thats true, i can just youtube the story. music by original composer as well, i love it from fans' compilation with chrono trigger music. i have been looking for games as deep and satisfying as chrono trigger, and without grinding. the pacing and design of narrative is really good in brining the player from start to finish. after all the search i realize, there are fan made stories to further the chrono trigger original story like Crimson Echoes and Flames of Eternity. then i saw chrono break and sad that it is too hard to reassemble the original team reunion to make it happen. then as i read, the original story designer of chrono trigger continues the story with radical dreamers SNES version, although he is unsatisfied with the end product. later he also went to design chrono cross and took reference from continuing radical dreamers.
It's a sequel, but it's not the sequel everyone's been waiting for. It takes place 20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger, and all the playable characters are new and you don't know much about what happened to the old characters.

An saving the world the Robo left in 600 A.D. still could of got taken an done something in an alternate time line after 600 A.D. Maybe Glenn an Robo defended Guardia tell his systems where finally shut down or intergrated into something else

Yeah I stopped when you said they find Luca and the future was still devoured by Lavos. If you paid attention to the narrative Lavos was deactivated entirely by the defeat of the time devour as he was using Schala as a “conducted to stay alive” depending on your party and decisions some of the stories do get wrapped up. Chrono, Marle, and Luca are confirmed dead by Kidd. What you see before you comfront the time devour are there spirits. I doubt that Chrono Break would have that way in fact I feel like it would have been yet again a new cast possibly Magus returning as a player character early and as a mentor to new heroes possibly his kid or someone he saved.
I hated chrono Cross. The lead on the project focused more on an army of playable characters instead of enriching the already vast world with way more storytelling in that universe. Totally new map and characters and didn't touch the old characters.

Personally I think Cross was a decent GAME, but it was an absolutely terrible SEQUEL (to Chrono Trigger). Probably because it wasn’t a sequel to Chrono Trigger at all, but was a sequel to Radical Dreamers with a fresh coat of Chrono paint thrown on. The Porre plot made no sense at all, and Schala/Time Devourer felt super tacked-on. It also punched a hole in continuity since (if I’m not mistaken) Marle/Nadia was her descendent (And Ayla was Schala/Magus/Nadia’s ancestor). If they ever did do a Chrono Trigger sequel (a real one...) I hope they disregard Cross completely. XD
Thought so, but played it when I was older and it was a lot better than I remembered. It's a great game that needs a mature aspect in life to really appreciate the game.

Yeah, 10 Characters would've been enough. 6 for while you're Serge, 4 while you're Lynx. They had All of these characters and very few dual techs.

It's a sequel, but it's not the sequel everyone's been waiting for. It takes place 20 years after the events of Chrono Trigger, and all the playable characters are new and you don't know much about what happened to the old characters.

Yeah I stopped when you said they find Luca and the future was still devoured by Lavos. If you paid attention to the narrative Lavos was deactivated entirely by the defeat of the time devour as he was using Schala as a “conducted to stay alive” depending on your party and decisions some of the stories do get wrapped up. Chrono, Marle, and Luca are confirmed dead by Kidd. What you see before you comfront the time devour are there spirits. I doubt that Chrono Break would have that way in fact I feel like it would have been yet again a new cast possibly Magus returning as a player character early and as a mentor to new heroes possibly his kid or someone he saved.

I hated chrono Cross. The lead on the project focused more on an army of playable characters instead of enriching the already vast world with way more storytelling in that universe. Totally new map and characters and didn't touch the old characters.
Cross was a mess and felt like it wasnt even a sequel to trigger

Personally I think Cross was a decent GAME, but it was an absolutely terrible SEQUEL (to Chrono Trigger). Probably because it wasn’t a sequel to Chrono Trigger at all, but was a sequel to Radical Dreamers with a fresh coat of Chrono paint thrown on. The Porre plot made no sense at all, and Schala/Time Devourer felt super tacked-on. It also punched a hole in continuity since (if I’m not mistaken) Marle/Nadia was her descendent (And Ayla was Schala/Magus/Nadia’s ancestor). If they ever did do a Chrono Trigger sequel (a real one...) I hope they disregard Cross completely. XD
Thought so, but played it when I was older and it was a lot better than I remembered. It's a great game that needs a mature aspect in life to really appreciate the game.
