Glad I watched it . We just got part of the sofa delivered today . We also bought the storage ottoman I put that together in a few minutes , easy. We got the sectional sofa with the corner section . The local Ikea was out of stock on the corner love seat section so they ordered it for us and it will come Saturday .
Just to know, very easy to put together. Took only obe hour, but give yourself time beforehand to iron the covers. Loving the sofa so comfortable and big enough for overnight friends to sleep on. Again thanks for the video.
Actually, it is comfortable. I'll add that, if you want to change the upholstery fabric, you have to do some disassembly to get the new cover on. They were out of any other cover material so we had to go with white. We've already a couple of spills and had to launder the cushion covers. Kind of a pain...
This has the firmest cushions from all the ikea couches hasn't it? That's a good thing since IMO the ikea couches have too soft sponges in general!! In my country they have only the black leather 3 seater sofa from kivik. HIghly considering it, i just hope the pillows don't bend and squish after use too much, that's the only thing i hate about ikea couches
To Johnathan (I think you disabled replies), you could run a USB cable through the armrest, but you'd have to drill a hole in the wood and some of the fabric, otherwise you'll pinch the cord where the wood bolts together. If you drill a hole, you'll also have to put a little fabric tape over the hole or some type of grommet so that the fabric won't fray too much. I bet you could do it without too much trouble.

It's holding up well, but we've had a couple issues. The white upholstery looks good, but it soils quickly. You can remove the cushion covers and clean them, but the material on the arms and behind the cushions is time-consuming to take off. If you have dirt in your home, DON'T GO WITH THE WHITE UPHOLSTERY! Maybe we could have done a better job covering the couch. Or maybe we could have bought a different color once we had the money and then reassembled the darn thing, but that was a project that I had no interest in addressing. The second problem is that some of the wooden slats on the backrest have started to detach. This happened when I removed the armrests to make it easier to move into our new apartment (up stairs and around corners...) The remaining assembly was tugged and twisted and it buckled a bit, and consequently some of the glue didn't hold. It would have been better to completely disassemble the couch instead of going half-way. It wasn't too much of an extra step, but I was lazy. Otherwise, it's still a good couch. So, there you have it, Joyful Smiles. Hope this helps.

Thinking about buying this but I've seen many pics and even in store the fabric is very loose and wrinkly. Love the couch just not sure since the wrinkles make it look cheap 😩 how is yours holding up?
may i know if the sofa would still stand without the two armrests? because without the armrests it can fit into my room but with them would be too wide. cheers

I think you'll have a tough time doing it alone. There are two very big boxes, if I recall correctly, and they'll be a struggle to manipulate on your own. You could probably get it in your car/truck at Ikea solo, but the problem is having a dolly and easy in a and out when you get home. Hope this helps.

White. And it is easy to maintain. You can pull the coverings off the cushions for laundering. But white can be problematic. Easy to stain. We got it because there weren't any other colors available that day. boo...
Do not buy the sofa bed version of this couch. It is like sitting on a rock. Horrible. Its so bad that since IKEA wont allow me to return it I am going to take the hit and have Goodwill or someone just come get it out of my apartment so I can buy something I can actually sit in.
IMO this is the best sofa at Ikea just because of the wide armrests. It's too bulky to fit in my room, though. Also, the music is jarring. I'm not trying to criticize your taste in music, but it's annoying to be going through videos and have something that's unexpectedly loud blasted at you and you have to mute the video or turn down your speakers. But I guess it is your video. :P
Is it true that you can change the covers on these KIVIK couches? I know someone who is selling a white one, but I want a dark gray color. Is it possible to change the color of the entire couch??
You can change the fabric color, but you'll have to disassemble the couch, which is kind of a pain. Then again, it's a fraction of what it would cost to completely re-upholster the dang thing. I had a friend who told me that gluing some of the wooden seams together as you assembled the couch would make it stronger. Thing is, if you use glue during original assembly, it would be almost impossible to take apart again. I didn't use any glue when I put this couch together, so so taking it apart won't be so bad. In other words.. Yes! you can change the covers. But if it was glued, it might be a problem. (But I doubt it was glued, because only someone serious would consider gluing it.)
The loveseat with chaise is $799 which we were considering but words like glue and loose definitely have me rethinking everything. Why is everything built like shit nowadays?

Sorry, you need the armrests. The feet are on the armrests and it won't stand without them.

13mm socket and socket wrench (1/2 inch socket). They provide one for you in the kit, though.
