Your greatest talent is your ability to match colors. I know because I worked repairing furniture for twenty-five years. I knew of one person that had your talent.
A broken, rare chair finds a rare master to repair and restore it to it’s original beauty. Thank you for sharing! It is always a peaceful joy to watch you show us a broken item and how you remake truly broken parts and fix the rest. The care you take for the colors and finishes shows how well you know your craft. Well done, my friend!
Damn ... You are good. When the lathe is turning, and you have chisel in hand, it results in balm for the soul. Genius... Pure genius. Blessings for the Christmas season for you and your loved ones, from South Africa.
One day UA-cam suggested me a video from your channel. Since then I have followed your excellence, expertise, sensitivity and talent. Do you have the exact notion of how many people you make happy and delighted with your work? Thank you so much for offering us so much beauty! Merry Christmas!🌷
You are a master with wood. Whether bringing a piece of furniture back to life, or turning a finial. It is a joy to watch you make a piece happy again.
I watch furniture appraisers heap mounds of praise and give high values to dilapidated pieces, then I see beautifully restored ones like this and wonder just what in the world they're thinking.
When you called this chair mass produced, I had to stop and think. Today a mass-produced chair will probably be molded plastic with metal legs attached by a machine. The factor where this chair was made must have had an army of skilled craftsman producing perhaps with a machine each of these parts and then assembling them and finishing it. It is good that you keep these things alive for it speaks well of the original craftsman’s memory.
How did you acquire your skills. I have never seen someone so proficient in restorations. I am fascinated by your carving and upholstery with seaweed, it’s all new to me. You are a real talent. 4:514:51
Why could not everyone on earth work like you!!! You devote all your heart, mind and hands in creating beautiful restoration of any kind. You do the possible from impossible.
Man,that chair was a mess.I can see that your laser is going to be your best friend.Thank you for showing the difference between laser cut and hand drilling.Great video.
you say "it was real joy to work with it!" and we say "it was a GREAT joy watching you do this brilliant restauration!" BRAVISSIMO, as usual! best monday greetings 🙂
Fabulous. The way you made that recess in the seat blew my mind...I missed it the first time and went back to watch the bit where you pressed the 3 layers together...a second time. So cool.
Excellent job. I'd just like to thank you for all the tremendous videos you've made this year. I know how much work is involved. On behalf of your viewers, I'd like to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and happy and peaceful new year.
I love to watch you duplicate chipped, cracked and peeling parts. When you are done, its impossible to find the replacement on the piece. (The laser certainly makes for accurate, clean pattern reproduction.)
in my house windows, shutters, kitchen cabinets, internal and external doors and most furniture are all finished with shellac. hence i do appreciate your work with shellac and your finishing.
This chair is so unique. My great-grandmother had a chair similar to this one and I loved it. I have never found out what happened to it. Great job restoring it!
Loved watching you turn a piece of wood into an elegant finial. Im always wowed by that skill you have. Great lazer machine too and hope we get to see you use it again.
So nice of them to send the laser cutter. No more break-outs. The chair looks as if it just got made, .......wait......IT JUST DID. Beautiful. I mike your cat.
Modern tech is amazing as a tool to help but it still takes time to learn and perfect kudos for taking the time to master it. You are so skillful and the end result is amazing 😊 Great restoration
My thought was a chair fit for a king’s table although since Ukraine I think they mostly had the Russian czars but a design that’s admirable in any era
He's an artist when it comes to that. He can get anything to match anything else. You're not going to see his repairs without a magnifying glass and some good lighting.
With your amazing talent and knowledge of woodworking I think it would be interesting to see you hand make an exact replica of an antique piece of furniture. It would probably be even better than the original.
The laser was interesting to watch. I imagine if one makes a living through this work, lasers could be useful. Honestly, I most enjoy watching how you take your calipers, measure angles, and then create an incredible replica of the first decorative thing ( I don't know what it is called). The work on the lathe is phenomenal. Thank you!
It is truly a pleasure to watch you work Ahti. Your skills on the wood lathe are legendary! To reproduce that finial free-hand like you did was amazing! Thank you so very much for sharing your work and videos with us. God bless. Rev. D.
This is a beautiful chair. I am so glad that you know how to fix them and make them perfect again. It is like you are the wood whisperer and it tells you what it needs and you just continue to add to that beauty. Have a great day and Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.
Beautiful work! Cool how you stained over the original shellac and saved the old finish. You color matched the new wood so well. Your new laser cutter did a great job, but you could have done that manually in a lot less than 3 days. It'll come in really handy, though, in future projects...huh? Thanks for another terrific video, Master Ahti!
That laser is something else! What a time saver.. But I cannot imagine the learning curve. I love to watch you use the lathe. Such precision with the calipers. I truly appreciate your skill. Especially now that I have hand tremors. Great job!
I'm betting the laser is not very hard to use. The software does most of the work for you. Using a lathe requires a lot more skill. I'm sure I could figure out the laser without a problem. But I would have zero chance of doing most of the other things he does.
Your greatest talent is your ability to match colors. I know because I worked repairing furniture for twenty-five years. I knew of one person that had your talent.
Audiance to this guy! Skills are perfectly. THX for your work!!!
A small holiday gift. Thank you for all you do, Ahti!
Thanks David! Merry Christmas!
@@ATRestoration you're welcome. 🙂You too, Ahti!
Another stunning beauty, it’s what we know we’re going to get from you Ahti, your work is world class 🏴❤️
I learn something from almost all of your videos. Thank you.
Your ability to match color and ornate carving leaves me jaw-dropped. Whew. I love watching.
Always enjoy watching you work your magic & hard work restoring wood to its orginal beauty.
Your ability to create an exact copy of a damaged piece is so impressive. Truly beautiful craftsmanship once again.
It's a real joy to watch you work
You ARE a Master Craftsman! Beautiful!
You are so talented I enjoy watching you carve the spindle I Don't know much about tools great job
I hammered the like button! Now I need a new iPad for Christmas....
😄

I would have liked this comment more than once, if I could. Beautifully said. 🌿
This old broken chair becomes a throne fit for a king! Beautiful!
Looks better than the original. Awesome!
Damn ... You are good.
When the lathe is turning, and you have chisel in hand, it results in balm for the soul.
Genius... Pure genius.
Blessings for the Christmas season for you and your loved ones, from South Africa.
You are probably the best UA-cam restorer. Every video is a show and every repair you've done is fantastic.
ALL THAT STEAM GAVE ME A SINUS HEADACHE! LOVR YOUR WORK!
You are an artist. I wish I could do what you do.

The work you do is amazing!
Brilliant and multi talented.
You are a master with wood. Whether bringing a piece of furniture back to life, or turning a finial. It is a joy to watch you make a piece happy again.

Very beautifully done

I was taken aback by the words, "mass-produced" too. It sure doesn't look like the chairs in the USA.
Beautiful i bet you have some nice pieces of your own.
I love learning these small things about Estonia in every video you share.
The ghost of the original artisan watching your laser machine and thinking, "What the hell kind of witchcraft is that?" BTW damn fine work!
How did you acquire your skills. I have never seen someone so proficient in restorations. I am fascinated by your carving and upholstery with seaweed, it’s all new to me. You are a real talent. 4:51 4:51

I'm not only jealous of your skills but I'm also jealous of that antique book press! Nice job on the chair too.
All you needed was the Patent Leather Zebra Boots! I cracked up on that! What a stately looking chair, brought back to life by your skilled hands!
Man,that chair was a mess.I can see that your laser is going to be your best friend.Thank you for showing the difference between laser cut and hand drilling.Great video.

Beautiful work !
That free hand lathe recreation of the detail was amazing. One day I hope to be able to do that...
Lathe work is probably the easyest.
Practice, practice and more practice, that is where the muscle memory comes from. Peace
I'm sure you'll get there. You sound like you have the determination to do it!
Beautiful
I learn something everytime I watch
Remember in the sixties where people said lasers were the new death weapon? Now look at all the great things we can do with them.

I am convinced that there is nothing that you cannot do. I've watched you repair and make so many things, truly amazing!
What a beautiful restoration! This old lady living in Texas has no words. I am constantly amazed by your talent. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Beautiful renovation.
This is so satisfying to watch! All looks effortless in master's hands! Greetings from Ukraine!
Fabulous. The way you made that recess in the seat blew my mind...I missed it the first time and went back to watch the bit where you pressed the 3 layers together...a second time. So cool.
The chair reminds me of chairs that were in a convent many, many years ago. Your rehab is beautiful.
Exquisite work, as always. I love that you know almost every Estonian mass produced chair.
Excellent job.
I'd just like to thank you for all the tremendous videos you've made this year. I know how much work is involved.
On behalf of your viewers, I'd like to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and happy and peaceful new year.
Thanks for your kind words and same to you!
The work you do to restore these beautiful pieces is commendable, thank you for sharing your work with us. And hello from NY in US
It's always a treat to see how much care and skill you put into a project. Top notch.
Another triumph! I never tire of watching the skill & respect you have for design, wood and restoring a piece to it's original beauty and function.
Beautiful work.
👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💥💥💥💥😍

Wow! Image 8 of these chairs around a table in the 19th century style. Castle worthy! Top!

That mass produced chair has a elegant look. Nice work as always 👍
I love watching you restore old pieces 🤎🤎
That seat pattern certainly isn't rare, but I'll take your word for the rest of the chair. Very nice restoration.
Thank you - I needed to see something that 100% makes sense. Beautiful restoration.
So nice of them to send the laser cutter. No more break-outs. The chair looks as if it just got made, .......wait......IT JUST DID. Beautiful. I mike your cat.
I like your work. You leave the original look of the peice whenever you can. Restored with dignity!
Modern tech is amazing as a tool to help but it still takes time to learn and perfect kudos for taking the time to master it. You are so skillful and the end result is amazing 😊 Great restoration
Wow, a wood shop with a big press and a laser cutter!! Awesome and so useful.
You never cease to amaze me! What you do is glorious!
Amazing!
I don't think using the new technology has detracted from the beauty of the piece at all. Nicely done!
I love the elegance of this type of chair.
Such a regal chair. You brought it back to its rightful glory. Beautiful job!
My thought was a chair fit for a king’s table although since Ukraine I think they mostly had the Russian czars but a design that’s admirable in any era
Pure genius! It's amazing how you made the new pieces almost the same color as the old ones.
He's an artist when it comes to that. He can get anything to match anything else. You're not going to see his repairs without a magnifying glass and some good lighting.

I could watch your videos for hours. I learn so much but they're also incredibly relaxing.
What a beautiful chair! You did an impeccable job making it look lovely again 😊
That’s really beautiful! You did an especially good job on the finial🐝🤗❤️
Perfect, wonderful job! Your restoration is the best one I’ve ever seen!

It would be nice to own at least 2 of those! Very impressed.
