Was thinking about getting one of these for my portable use. I’m going to be driving between my home and a college that’s max 1hr 30min commute away from home, and I wanna have something like one of these to have tuned to multiple locations for watches and warnings, all the stupid apps on my phone usually forget to warn me when there’s anything going on in other areas. The area where the college is got a tornado warning a while ago, and I’m thinking of getting one of these to have with me in my car. Thanks for the vid, I like the sound of these radios and they seem like a good size. Hopefully it’s not a confusing setup like all the reviews mention!!!
The setup is very easy, but these things chew through batteries, I'd recommend getting one that advertises itself as portable (unless you can plug the AC adapter into your car)
One day I just got a tornado watch than a severe thunderstorm warning and actually if you weeks ago I think one week or two weeks I just got a flash flood warning there was one hazard it wasn't in Johnson City Tennessee. Actually some days or I think one year or this year ago actually I got a severe thunderstorm warnings on my weather radio how didn't record it I don't remember it just a little just got more severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado warning was his issued!
How did you get an alert sound on the WR120 when it was playing? Mine was playing but there was no alert sound, it would only play if the radio was on but not playing the weather
@@PiggyPorkchop I keep my set location on any. And maybe that’s why my beeps never happened because my events wasn’t on all on they were on all default
I had to leave one out unfortunately it's batteries died at literally 12:59 PM.

I assume your asking about the siren turn the set events to all on set alert type to voice and make sure you have the correct county programmed in.

The software changed on some wr-120s mine used to play the tone for the RWT but they don’t anymore

I usually hear the EAS at least twice a day so I don't really feel much when I hear it.

Most don't activate for weekly tests as it would annoy the radios owners.
