All of Japan is happy to see Hiroyuki Sanada and other Japanese actors being accepted all over the world for their dramas. Congratulations to the Shogun team. 👍

They told the story. It's over. That was the plan from the beginning. It's not "criminal". That's just how stories work... They end.
That's what makes how hard they worked on every single detail of the show so special.
That's the magic of it all.

If the story was already written and filmed in 1980 why even re-do it for 2024 if its "done" acording to you or whoever. CREATE... Hollywood magic needs to continue. :)
The Shogun is a typical isekai anime story. However, it's a story about a European being reincarnated in Japan.
The shoutout to "all the Latinas" was a little bit too political for my taste.

I love how the MAIN MALE CHARACTER of Shogun (psst, he’s the white guy) didn’t win ANY AWARD and WASN’T EVEN NOMINATED for any, EVEN HIS OWN SHOW. That’s crazy.

How do you convince yourself to comment on what you clearly know nothing about?
1.) His name is Cosmo Krikoryan Jarvis. His mother is Armenian... He's not white.
2.) Just like the book that this series is based upon... this story has two "main" characters (Torunaga and Blackthorne). When giving out ONE award for "Lead actor" in a film with more than one "main" character... Inevitably one of them will not receive the award.
3.) You clearly missed the entire point of the story if you really think that Anjin was the focal character of the story. Torunaga is clearly the star of the show...
4.) With all due respect, Cosmo's performance as Blackthorne was incredible, but Sanada's performance as Torunaga outshined Cosmo, no ifs and or buts to argue.

Blackthorne is indeed the western audience’s view into their world but Toranaga is the main character. Plus can’t say I enjoyed Cosmo’s performance as much as I enjoyed the show overall. Even though his voice was doing an awesome Richard Burton.
He’s an avatar for the western audience. It’s not really his story.

I thought it would win Best Picture, Best Design, Best Sound, etc., but I honestly didn't think it would win so many awards, such as Best Actor and Best Actress, so I thought it was really amazing.
Until now, English has been the main focus, and the focus has not been on the background of other countries, but this film has a high level of quality that even Japanese people can agree on, and it is a work that is created with respect for everything, including Japanese history, Japanese actors, buildings, the quality of the costumes, the Japanese language, the appropriate sound, and the scenery shown.
From the opening video and music to the Japanese sand garden, the Hollywood video capture, music selection, and incorporation are mixed well, drawing you into the story.
I feel that this achievement is possible only because of the excellent collaboration between Sanada-san, the executive producers, the Japanese cast and producers, and the Hollywood producers and cast, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to spread Japan and Japanese entertainment to the world!!! Also, it's riding on the global trend of inclusion, so I think people all over the world are watching and supporting it. Furthermore, I'm happy that the entertainment world in Hollywood, which is starting to recognize this, has a bright future ahead of it! On the other hand, I think that countries and worlds that are still exclusive and disrespectful will not be able to achieve development, and will only have a future of defeat in everything. Lastly, I can't wait to see season 2 lol
