- (PART 3 OF 4) Re Assembling the transmission from our 2016 Yamaha YXZ 1000R to do the upgrade and gear swap to the lower range 2019 Yamaha YXZ1000R gearing. This is the assembly phase where I put the gears into the box. This will lower the overall range of the gears to prepare for larger tires. I upgraded the clutch to an Alba Racing 6 spring style pressure plate with Alba Heavy Duty Clutch Friction Plates and the Alba Heavy Duty Drive Shaft / Driveline Coupler with upgraded silicone grease boot. This is part 3 where I focus on just putting the transmission back together ( reassemble ) while it is out of the SXS / UTV. In the next video, I will reinstall the gearbox back into the YXZ chassis and drive it after bleeding the clutch.

Thanks for this video series. Took the trans out last weekend, hoping to do the reduction and clutch this weekend, then reinstall the trans next weekend. These detailed videos are helping me prepare.

Nice work. Looked like a fun project. In 2016 i had a rzr 900s kept it for less than a year i miss that thing.

Nice work !! Was looking into this 2019 gear reduction is it worth it will i be able to rock crawl ? Went rock crawling with some friends past week didn't end well burned my new 2 month old alba racing HD clutch 😢
Go lower if want to crawl. This barely changed it. Did you do t he 6 spring pressure plate clutch conversion or just the fibers?
Yes did the 6 spring pressure plate convertion torqued to 7 as suggested
why did you offset the last friction?

This would be the only sidexside I’d own. Everything else is belt driven . Ain’t no way
they are an absolute blast to drive, grabbin gears! still prefer to "ride" a quad than drive anything
