Hello Christie, We are super excited to be featured on the channel and we appreciate your honest review :) Folding the bag in its tiny format is pretty easy once you get the hang of it but we do recommend taking off the crossbody strap before folding it up. This will make things so much easier. You can store the crossbody strap away in the small zipper pocket on the back. We hope this helps anyone who is watching this video. Have a wonderful day! Take care
Game changer. New Foldie owner here too and I struggled like she did. Taking the strap off did the trick for me. The corners do still tend to catch but thats no biggie to work around!
I have one (original) and gifted 3 of them to friends who love them. Hard to fold back into pocket but with practice gets easier. Just took to Cancún with bottom unzipped and still able to get easily under seat. I carried all of my liquids and meds as well as extra clothes, etc.
I've gifted them too! I got one for my mom and my mother-in-law and they both love them. It really is the best personal item to take on a flight! Thank you for watching!
I just got a Foldie to use as a personal item for my trip to France and your reviews were so helpful! I especially was worried about space for any souvenirs but it seems like this bag will work perfectly! Thank you!
Yay, I'm so glad my review was helpful!! I can't say enough good things about the Foldie, you will LOVE taking it to France. It is amazing how much can fit in it and that it is considered a personal item! I just took it on a trip to Montreal and it worked perfectly to bring back my souvenirs. I hope you have the BEST time in France!! Thank you for watching!
I love this thing! I bring one small suitcase and this Foldie. I put my purse in the Foldie and it makes travel so much easier. On shorter trips I would do Foldie only. Just an amazing product. I hate schlepping through the airport with heavy stuff and the fact that this starts out feather light is a huge feature. Go get one now!!!!!
I agree completely!! I love using it on flights because it is truly the perfect personal item, especially when I have things I'm bringing home from a trip. The expandable part is a gamechanger! Thank you for watching!
I just received my Foldies -- bought the dark grey and teal in the two-for-one sale. It did take a bit of attention and tugging to fold it up, with careful attention to the video. On the whole I am very happy with the size unfolded AND the size all folded up. I travel back and forth from the US to France all the time, and I can see this is going to be a Godsend!
Yay I'm so glad you like it! It has been such a life-saver to have as my personal item on trips where I want to pack minimally in a carry-on but want to bring souvenirs home. The fact that it extends is just so helpful! Thank you for watching!
Thanks! I almost ordered a cheapie version on Amazon, but when I watched your video, I could see this was a better product. I was hesitant because of the higher price at first. I caught the Black Friday sale today and paid only $29 per bag…I ordered 4…one for me, my daughter, a cousin and an extra! You are quirky and funny. I subscribed!
Yay, I'm so glad you were able to get a great deal on Black Friday! I hope you and your family like using them! It is still what I use every time I travel. Thank you for your kind words and for subscribing! ❤
Just received mine. It was a struggle to fold up. Wish they would have shipped it in that way so it’s easier to fold the first time. I’m going on trips Sept & Oct and hoping this suits my needs. Glad I’m not the only one who struggled to get it folded 😂
I'm so glad it was helpful!! I hope you both enjoy the bag, it has gone on every trip I've taken since I've gotten it, so I hope you like it that much too!
there is a bigger one with a much bigger zipper bottom. we are considering using two of the bigger ones plus one small suitcase for a 2 week trip to Europe. We are taking the suitcase primarily to bring back gifts but can switch all content of a foldie to suitcase easily. Last trip to Chicago. stuck the folded bag into the suitcase and packed. I did also carry my knitting in a separate bag but discoveredI will not need to do that again.
I expand mine and put my purse in it and still have plenty of room for a small blanket, travel pillow, book, travel coffee cups etc. and it still fits under the seat in front of me.
I think you should not call the folded up Foldie “TINY”. I managed to fold up my new bag, same model as yours and it’s 12” long x 7” x 2.5”. Not tiny in my bag and will take up a lot of room in my main suitcase. I haven’t used it yet for travel but when folded it’s not tiny in my book.
I live in Hong Kong and got a none bag like this with the pouch on the front that lets the bag fold up, but the bag also has an extre zipoer which makes it so it expands even more. There are a lot og bags similar to the one I got with verying prices, but I got it for $38hkd ($4.86usd) discounted to $30hkd ($3.84usd).
So I had the same issue folding my bags. I was disappointed that it didn't arrive already folded. I have another bag from Tumi and it is the same size but folds much smaller. I don't feel like this bag folds all that small. I think it will take a significant amount of space in a suitcase if you are taking it as a spare bag. I also just went through the UK with a bag this size and they told me it was not a personal item, but a big carry on bag. So I think it is only a personal item size within the USA
I think you're right about it only being a personal item in the US, especially when extended. I've been seeing a lot on travel forums online how restrictive European airlines are with personal items and liquids especially! I would definitely encourage anyone traveling internationally to check the size limits for personal items, carry-ons, and liquids because even carry-on's need to be smaller on European airlines! Thank you for watching. :)
I went on a Disney cruise and had to purchase a small duffle they were selling for $50…….im gonna try the Foldie - put it in my suitcase for souvenirs. If they could come out with a way to make it a foldie backpack- I would lose it! I prefer to have hands free with my Son.
A Foldie backpack would be amazing! Now that I have a baby, I also prefer having my hands free and a backpack would be such a game-changer! Thank you for watching!
I am going to buy a Foldie bag thanks to your review, but wanted to ask what kind of makeup bag that you use in this video? It looks to be a perfect size for the bag and what I am looking for. Thanks!
Yay, I hope you love the Foldie! I use mine all the time, it's really come in handy. :) The makeup bag in this video is this one, but unfortunately it looks like it's unavailable: amzn.to/3O4IRnT I looked around a little on Amazon and this one is really similar in functionality and setup: amzn.to/4aYon9Z This is super close to the one I have, especially in the S and M size. I think the one I have might be in between those two sizes but they're pretty similar! I hope this helps! Thank you for watching. :)
Amazing review! Bought 2 :) I also love that they’re a USA brand…almost bought a generic china version and would MUCH rather support US made items + the quality reads way better! BONUS ~ it meats the play airlines strict personal item specs 😊
Yayyy, I hope you love them!! I saw on Amazon that they have a similar product but like you said, I love that this is made in the USA and the quality is great! I hope you get a lot of use out of them. :) Thank you for watching!
My girlfriend just gave me one of these bags. In the process, I discovered christie ...... ???? simultaneously entertaining and ? bizarre. I will subscribe, although not for travel advice. 🤔
Thank you for watching! It definitely took a few tries for me to get it folded back into the pouch but after practicing a few times, it's a little more of a smoother process for me now haha.
Love this video, travel essential videos are my favorite! I have the same bag but I got the off-brand alternative for 1/3 of the price, but regardless of the price, it's an excellent bag! More videos like this, please!
I just uploaded an updated review for the Foldie 4.0 and used this tip! It was so helpful and folding it like that worked much better for me, so thank you!
It still fits under the seat in front of you when it's expanded! I was shocked haha. But it truly still works as a personal item even when expanded. :)
It can go under the seat and be a personal item once expanded! I have used it expanded on multiple flights and was able to use it as my personal item and put it under my seat. :) Thank you for watching!
I think it’s time for Foldie 3.0 with a stronger zipper. Folding it back into the pouch is way to difficult, and I feel like the zipper is sure to break. Great concept, poor implementation.
I have never figured out what those are for LOL. My only guess is what you said below, but that truly feels like it would make no difference whatsoever to the size?!
So far I have a few trips with the Foldie and it did work as my personal item, even when expanded. I've flown a few domestic trips with it and also flew internationally to Montreal on Air Canada with no problem. I had it expanded on the flight back with no issues. So I would say in my experience so far, I've had no issues flying with it in the US and Canada, but if I was flying in Europe, I would check the dimensions for the airline since I know they tend to be stricter/smaller than here in the US. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching.
@SharonRepici, this is what I found, too! Once I got both pulls on the zipper [inside and outside] going it was much easier. I actually think the zipper was being stuck by the inside pull hanging up.
The side snap straps seem to be a mystery to us all haha! I have seen so many people talking about them, so I will reach out to the company and see if they can give insight on what they're for. I will let you know if I hear back! Thank you for watching!
I love my Foldie and gave one as a Xmas gift. I will admit, however we both have had trouble with the zipper. I had to put the zipper back on track and sew the end closed in order to have it work again. Otherwise, I love it.
okay, I took advantage of the BOGO offer, and wish I hadn't. This thing is ridiculously hard to fold, no matter how many times I practice. The bottom is so bulky, you can't get it to make that darn "square", and zippering it up is going to break the zipper some time soon. I have a similar bag from Walmart that, while not foldable, holds more and costs less. Not sending back, as I got rid of all the tags, etc, but it won't be my go to travel bag, either. I'll gift them, probably. Sorry, not happy with this product.
I just uploaded an updated review of the Foldie 4.0 for anyone interested! ua-cam.com/video/BkHlz2S0N6E/v-deo.htmlsi=Ygcc8WHuUcyUP4VE

Ahh, thank you for the tip on removing the crossbody strap! I will try that from here on out. Thank you again for sending me the Foldie. :)

Game changer. New Foldie owner here too and I struggled like she did. Taking the strap off did the trick for me. The corners do still tend to catch but thats no biggie to work around!
I just returned from 6 flights between Canada and Portugal and Morocco. No problem going through as a personal item.

Oh yeah, I really struggled! I still do and I don't know if it's just me? Haha! Thank you for watching!

I find that folding in the sides last is easier
I just uploaded an updated review for the Foldie 4.0 and used this tip! It was so helpful and folding it like that worked much better for me, so thank you!
If it’s expanded does it only fit in the overhead bin?
It still fits under the seat in front of you when it's expanded! I was shocked haha. But it truly still works as a personal item even when expanded. :)
I have one and I just got back from a trip. I had mine stuffed with the expander on and it fit under the seat easily. It held up really well

I totally agree! I’m awaiting the zipper to break.
Agree! I just got it and zipper already broke, folding is not that easy
I just got mine. Definitely difficult to fold up. No wonder you don't receive them like that. Lol
You are supposed to remove the shoulder straps before folding. Put the straps in your suitcase with the folded up Foldie.
Fun times.
Everyone can pull off cowboy boots!
Do you know what the snaps on straps are for on each side?
I want to know that, too!
@@VRush-gt8wu I've seen one person just snap down the sides when they zipper down the bottom to decrease the size. Kinda useless it would seem

@@ChristieintheCity Seems like an added expense to manufacture something so unnecessary!

How about the updated 4.0?
I will be making a video about the Foldie 4.0 and their crossbody bag! It will be up in the next few weeks. Thank you for watching!
Has anyone gotten this onto a United flight as a personal item? It is larger than their measurements, unfortunately.
Skeptical that this will still qualify as a "personal item " when packed, and will fit inside the personal item box size at the gate ...🤔
So far I have a few trips with the Foldie and it did work as my personal item, even when expanded. Video doesn’t show extended strap. Best to minus the shoulder strap 😊ezpz👏🏻👏🏻
I thought this was an American company but mine got shipped from china?
same!
That's weird, when I got mine it shipped from within the US. I did get mine over a year ago, so maybe something changed?
take a video of you unpacking a new bag and reverse it to fold it back. hi puppy.
I removed the shoulder strap but the zipper was unwieldy
If you pull both the inside and outside zippers together it will work much easier.
@SharonRepici, this is what I found, too! Once I got both pulls on the zipper [inside and outside] going it was much easier. I actually think the zipper was being stuck by the inside pull hanging up.
