- Today we play our first never move once challenge in Brotato, a challenge that is a series on my channel for Vampire Survivors. The ruleset is quite simple: Don't move. That's it. However, for Brotato it is a lot more difficult since you can't really aim for a build and you just hope to get the right things.
Just for people that have never seen one of these, the challenges take a lot of attempts to get the right builds, so if a run looks insane this wasn't "he played once and got this run" but rather "he played 20 times, showed 3 and 1 of them won".

For the statistic: The second 20% dodge would haven been totaly worth it.
The more % you have the better each following % get. Its the same reason why every addtional point armor give less %.
Easiest example 50% dodge / armor equals 1/2 damage in. 75% already equals 1/4 damage in.
If you mean at the end, the max amount in the game is 70%
I was at 69%
Meaning the bonus from the 20% would only be 1%, which I viewed as a waste of material
If it's not that point feel free to link it and I'll take a look at it
classic dex doesn't understand the concept of economic words
I'm just looking for tips on beating a game with the soldier, and DEX does it without moving. Absolutely amazing.
I'm surprised you neglected hp regen here. High hp with decent armour and 20-30% regen is bonkers.

Well i'd say that what hurted the run more was having so many guns, that gives you lots of range which makes it so more and more enemies die out of pickup range.
Also the tomato gives you hp regen which happens every 5 secs, so there was nothing wrong with it.
In the first run it was part of the reason he died so fast. Obviously he wasn’t going to win that anyways but sometimes that half health can go away pretty fast
You know it was a relief to get this run done when dex giggles like a school girl at the end lmao
very nice run at the end. still not beaten this challenge yet.

That chameleon in the wave 20 shop was clutch!
IDK if you later figure it out, but it's not that you can't move, you're just discouraged since you don't attack while moving.
its a no move challenge its to add a extra chalenge to the game he also does it with vampire survival

You could go full melee to not care about range for no movement challenge
I did a run with scissors and building tanky. I still moved to collect stuff, but I imagine with some good early rng a no move run is doable. Also I've kinda theory crafted running soldier with the melee ghost weapons I would scale my attack speed and damage from kills allowing me to focus on armor health regen and dodge from levels and items. Since everything is in melee range no missed xp.
I dropped melee quickly because you take too much damage. Keep in mind you start with nothing and the chargers appear on round 3 already, but the real problem are the tanks. Maybe you can outtank them in specific setups but I didn't get anywhere close to that, the moment someone got stuck on me I died. Knockback worked well until it didn't since I didn't kill anything anymore

What's going on with the music? I'm 1 minute in and this sounds like it's from a video of 4 week old kittens.
I just went 400 range and tons of damage I didn't buy any health or dodge or anything besides damage you melt the boss lol
So much better to get all same weapon to get bonuses
Can you try Gladiator on danger 3 or above pls Dex...I've been struggling to beat it
I can give it a go but I gotta say I really dislike melee weapons, so I probably won't be a fan of it or stop playing
Possibly picking up any weapon you can find early for the bonus and farming hard while getting duplicates for weapons you want purple early on so you only have the penalty before the hard waves kick in.
Lots of HP, armor and dodge early would be my choice since I can't evaluate the distance I have to keep properly.
Armor, dodge and health from weapons should help and then just running away from enemies
@@DexTag thanks for sharing your advice. Gladiator has a 30% luck penalty, plus on higher danger you have inflation of course, so this means getting quality items is very hard as well, so in addition to armor/dodge and Max hp; I feel I need to also get luck items and harvesting items and it makes a real challenge.
Highly recommend it as a challenge for you.to try.
I started the run with ghost flint to also counteract the attack speed penalty but maybe it wasn't the best choice. Ghost axe also helps.

So I gave it a quick try but had to leave for work, died on round 15 with danger 5
Given this was a first try I think the char is a nightmare but manageable
I just picked every weapon that showed up and had triple knifes (as in, the 3 different ones), the cactus club shooting out projectiles, a stone and scissors. To say this build felt horrible is an understatement but I think it shows that it can work by just getting slightly better starting weapons. Something like 2 unarmed over 2 knifes would mean build in dodge from the type bonus (IIRC), more primitive weapons would mean bonus health (again IIRC).
For quality all of mine reached purple, but beyond that I could forget it. Didn't go for luck increase
After getting my weapons to blue I stopped using Material for rolls since they were pointless either way
After blues started showing up I started using the Material to roll for upgrades and bought everything that gave me armor/health/dodge and to a small degree melee damage, but I think after round 12 or so I wouldn't kill anything anymore either way
I think if you get some Speed from Wings you are set and can win this
@@DexTag wow well done. I struggled to get past level 10 most tries but probably because I played for more long term strategy of luck and harvesting as well. Yes primitive might be really good for the hp bonus. I think we need at least one lifesteal weapon as well like circular saw. I really like this gladiator challenge because it makes every round and every decision fell important

Great video and really cool run but wtf was that music choice. I get that you couldn't use the game audio because you forgot to record it or smth but it was so distracting. I'll admit I don't have any example you should have used instead but it felt like the kind of music often used by youtubers when there's something comical going on. Once it went back to the brotato music I stopped noticing the bgm entirely.
imagine just to sidestep for a bit and collect like 500 materials at once,, kinda made me mad that you just wouldnt move.. like you can take a few steps this caracter can even be played stuttersteping all the way.. you should try it
