I had a two week trip to Japan planned with my best friend, everything from tickets to hotels and ryokans from Tokyo all the way to Miyajima and back. All cancelled due to the pandemic. 'It was going to be my first big trip in many years after being in University and it really made me sad, we were both looking forward to is for years. Thank you from the depth of my heart for these videos as they make me feel a little closer , even if just virtually.
I was lucky enough to go last December. On the flight back I was already planning to go back. It's an amazing place. I wish you and your friend to have the chance to go soon.
Read your first sentence before reading the rest. Thought this was gonna be one of those "JAPAN IS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG" comments. But sorry you couldn't make it. I'm sure you will in the near future. Best wishes.
A one hour virtual walk down memory lane! This upload is very special to me because my grandparents are from Inuyama, and I used to visit them there when I was growing up in Japan (I am a Japanese expat living in Canada). I have not been there for ages. I am always pleasantly impressed that you always ask if filming is permitted at certain locations as you did at the entrance of the castle. I will watch this again, being nostalgic!
I did... twice. First time I also visited the very charming Urakuen (garden); second time I went during the festival with the gigantic floats. If you travel to Japan, both Nagoya and Okayama are great locations to stay in order to go on day trips from there.

When you exchanged a conversation with the worker at the entrance of the castle, he was not all that concerned about the regulations about filming the premises, being so modest about the castle, never did he suggest his apathy for the culture and history of the castle. I must say this to clarify the title for this segment of the upload. Not to go unnoticed is that your tripod was there sitting waiting for you where you left it by the tree when you came back. This never ever happens here in Canada. It will be gone forever in a minute. I immensely enjoyed this upload!
Don’t know if I ever made comments videos, Ramblac, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the walking adventures of a country i havent been to. Im aware of several years and 100/s of videos I haven’t seen yet. Your walks are very therapeutic and stress free its an honor to walk with you to beautiful places.
there was one video that ended with the camera going upwards as usual, but while taking a sip at the same time, suggesting that all videos are one long walk with tea breaks inbetween.
Love the people and culture. Love the structures and the way the Japanese are creative, even in the paving of the streets and the lamp posts. Blessings. Thanks.
I confess I don't have that much free time I wish I had to watch it throughout , but man you're a gift to the world! I mean, look at the sky of SF right now lol
What an amazing video tour on a Japanese castle. You should make more of these. Great initiative. Please make more, around Tokyo, but also, Osaka and Kyoto. I also must say, that I LOVED the 49:39 passing.
I like how he sets down a valuable piece of camera equipment because it's Japan, and he knows it's unlikely to be stolen. Contrast that with the good old USA, where stealing from each other is our national pastime.
@@zwiebelbaron5871 Good question. Not 100% sure I can definitively answer that, but if I had to take a crack at it I would say a lack of meaning (that more and more people seem to be missing/craving but not able to find). One thing I can say for sure is that the attitudes and values that people hold today are very different from the past. I read a verse in revelation from the bible and I thought it described some of the characteristics of this generation pretty well. In particular "lovers of themselves, proud, lovers of money, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God." Bible verse: But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. Ultimately no matter how much you try and fill that hole with worldly pleasures it will only lead to emptiness, true life comes from Jesus alone.
I love this chanel so much, especially now that we're all still stuck at homes unsure of what future will bring. Do you think you could maybe someday visit Ogijima island? The Okijima island from Battle Royale novel was based on it, and it would be amazing to be able to see how it looks in real life. I only saw decent footage of the lighthouse, but it would be a blast to see more of that place.

35:34 When the gatekeeper asks you: - UA-camr? You answer him in Japanese, yes (hai) but at the same time you add Daijoubu 大丈夫. I think the Japanese use the hai as a (yes) but sometimes also the So (so, so) english (so is or quite so) With affirmative nods of assent, called Aizuchi. I have studied that Daijoubu, can be used in many ways, it is like a "no thanks, or I am fine", or a simple "fine", "it's okay". But if you use it Daijoubu desu ka? it's a "are you okay?" Thanks for another great video. @Rambalac
