You did a better job of explaining this repair than the floor guy's did. And the repair came out so good my daughter's landlord didn't notice the repair. I did let the landlord know all the repairs that I did, just felt it only fair to see if the landlord was happy with them. But he already passed the unit walk through and he couldn't tell the vinyl was repaired. Thanks

I always cut the patch materal first. Then just trace the bad area.😊

It was a great day . I just went to my other house, daughter moved the fridge and damaged the floor. It's about a 5-inch triangular rip . I'm going back tomorrow to try patching up many thanks for the video

Others mention a seam sealer which may fill in those tiny seams and make it truly invisible.

If you don't use seam sealer, water and dirt will get in and cause the lino to lift where the cut lines are.

The vinyl I'm fixing was placed over old vinyl. So I had to do two layers, the bottom layer was just a filler and the top is what is visible
