You should do a tour of all the rods, reels, and stuff you have collected! And for a challenge you should do the Arby’s challenge, where you use Arby’s food for the bait.

So here’s an idea since you’re going to be on the road. Pawn shop reel swaps. Use a reel for an episode. Next episode, try to barter with a pawn shop to swap it for another reel to make it part of the fishing challenge.

If you want to get seriously into carp fishing you'll need a rod pod, few 3 or 3,5lb rods, baitrunner or big pit reels, bite alarms, hair rigs, boilies(pop up and sinking ones), some ground bait and pelletes for chum. Ofc you can do without all that stuff but it makes carp fishig much more fun, plus Im sure you can use it for catfish too. Love ur vids and keep up with the good work.

I'm from the UK and carp fishing is massive over here I've used a £17 sillstar feeder rod for 5 years catching carp to 19lb. Personally I have been brought up fishing big rivers for barbel a much more powerful fish where the bait runner is essential. What you're doing is pretty standard UK tactics for catching most fish but we use size 12 or 14 hooks with a hair rigged piece of corn or pellet never have to strike a fish as the hook themselves

Love watching your videos pal! I'm in the UK and have done a lot of carp fishing...2 things...the crooked bail arm on the reel is not a UK thing hahaha and secondly take a look at what we call a hair rig...it allows you to use slightly smaller hooks as the bait is loaded on a hair, not hook. Great for your hook up ratio and a smaller hook means less damage to the carp you love to catch! Keep it up big man!!

  • @tangomike12

Here's a few things I've learned about carp fishing in NY 3-4 times a week for the last 6 months (oddly enough, its part of my job):
Smaller hooks seem to work better as does less corn on a hook (depending on season, winter seems to be 1-2 pieces of corn per hook, spring/summer you can pack it on). Size 8, 10, even 12 will absolutely catch monster carp. That's not to say that a 4 or a 6 wont but I've just had better luck with smaller sizes. 8 in particular. I use barbless to help protect their mouths a little better as they are super fleshy and tend to bleed a lot and haven't had any issues with them coming off because of it (ymmv).
For bait, you've already figured it out. Corn. Corn is all you need. Yes, there are a huge variety of baits for carp but when all else fails, corn will almost always work. It may depend on area though as I know there's a few spots around here that only doughballs work but I haven't fished them yet (frozen atm).
You can use basically whatever type of rod and reel you want. Heavier tackle will let you get them in quicker and more securely but the fight is more fun on lighter stuff. I caught an 8 pounder a few days ago on a 5'6" ultra light with 4 pound test. It took about 6-8 minutes to get him in but it was a fantastic fight. One caveat, if you know there are monster sized ones (15+ pounds, at least in my area that's a monster, lol), its better to use heavier tackle (medium at minimum). These fish can fight extremely hard and the really big ones are very scary on even medium rods. My largest ever was 11 pounds 12 ounces on a medium rod with 10 lbs mono, it was an almost 20 minute fight. I had basically zero control over him. So, something to think about.
If you can see the carp wherever you're fishing, watch how they are moving. If you see dust clouds or them "attacking" the bottom, they are hungry and will bite if they like what they see. In this situation, casting past them, then reeling in very slowly to get near them seems to work very well. Casting just to the right or left of them (a few feet in either direction, almost on top of them) can also work and sometimes they will immediately eat it on the fall and take off. Other times, they get spooked so it's a risk (summer seems the best season for this method).
Bobber fishing for them can also work depending on the depth of where you're fishing. It doesn't seem to be working as well in winter as they are less hungry but in the warmer months it's a lot of fun to try. Bobber (I actually use trout floats as they make less impact when hitting the water but a lot of people use clear plastic ones), bigger split shot right underneath, 2-3 foot leader, hook, corn. I've caught many like this and its a nice change of pace as you can fish kind of aggressively with it (moving it, re-casting often, casting on top of them if you can see them).
Ok, that was a book, I apologize, lol. Hopefully, it helps somewhat. I'm really enjoying the carp fishing vids though.

Where I live in CT I catch carp on cheap white bread. Take a slice, break into half a slice, remove crust, mash the bread around the hook, not a ball but kind of a flat condensed random shape. They hit them hard.

Hey man. If you want to catch more carp I suggest to get a smaller hook, one that fits like 3 or max 4 pices of corn, and you should try feedeng them with groundbait, in colder days like these its a game changer. I recomend tehese flavours:strawberry, honey, and for cold esspecialy dark colored, fish flour flavour if you can get it. And instead of a weight zry using a feeder box wath you charge with groundbait. Dont mix the groundbait too sticky, that ruins is. And leave like 0.4 to 0.6 meter space betwen the hook and the feeder. We in Europe do it like this.😊😉

Yes that is made for carp fishing you are meant to click it up when you put it on the rod pod or what Your using the thing you put your rod in nice reel for big carp you need leads leadclip anti tangle tubing and then a rig with a hair riged bolie or fake corn and feed corn and boilies also carp hardly feed in winter so nornally it's good to use a very bright single bait without feed this is in UK tho so Idk about America from UK 🇬🇧

Just an idea but I always use a lighter to cut through my line. It’s easier and you can use it when you tie on a lure and there’s like a little piece of line hanging off.

when fishing still waters like ponds and lakes have your rods horizontally rather than vertically get some bite alarms too bro and make sure your line is tight instead of slack youll see bites easier
