You are the man. You have no idea how long I have been waiting for someone to make a video just like this! AWESOME JOB!!
Followup from my post yesterday - I plugged in all the matches yesterday (9th May) and got what I consider very good projections. Results of all the predictions were 12 wins, 8 losses and 1 push. I selected 3 of what I thought were the strongest - all at least +110 or higher. Two winners, one loss. As all plus odds I was up for the night!
How do you get the Html Urls to update for all the data for this tutorial? Is there a way to do it manually and/or automatically?
@@randyreed1971 same here. It doesn’t update and says #N/A for the whole row. No info. Did you figure jt out?
Absolute life saver with this thing man!
Thanks for showing how to weigh in the pitchers into the run projections that was actually nice thing to learn.
For anybody reading create a dropdown list for the pitchers & sort them by there team for easier fill out.
You could also create a dropdown list for the teams. Made it easier to swap & change teams around.
how exaclty do you go about doing this
@@ethanschwab9670
So I found it in this guys video
ua-cam.com/video/FzX8UwpvTk0/v-deo.html
Pretty much do what he does for importing pitchers but in your model. I did his pitcher method on this model because I was a better approach and was easier for me import others.
I've learned how to import ML and O/U odds too. Its fairly easily making a 2nd table and vlookup everything.
I am currently working on my advanced prediction method right now. Which is vlookup a bunch of stats into a formula/algorithm to predict the winner outside of just who scored more. I did it in my other model but need to do it on this one made this one cleaner.
Insanely helpful bro, I've always wanted to do this and could never find a video exactly like this. One thing thats great is that once you get the hang of it, you can experience with different numbers and kind of find a perfect model for you.
Exactly!!
Do you think you could make a football one?
Definitely on the to-do list
Throw in a cheeky drop down for the teams and the pitchers and this becomes insanely simple to enter the data. Great video
Thank you for this Bro, very easy to follow. Doing it today…. Only realized that at the time of your video Arizona was considered ARI and now it’s AZ….. once I pasted after the sort I was seeing AZ below ATL …… easy fix. Copy the correct abbreviation next to the correct team ……😂
Would love a player prop tutorial
This is the content that got me here. Thank you amigo 💯
appreciate it!
You are a true legend and saint for this. I really hope the people watching take advantage of this. This stuff took me months to figure out on my own, where were you 2 years ago 😂. Still one thing I can’t figure out.. how would you use decimal average like batting average to affect the true outcome of runs? Using the decimal in a regular average formula would have an inaccurate outcome, right? Since the others factors are whole numbers? Keep up gods work!
Appreciate that!
In terms of average, I always try to related a percentage (aka a batting average) to some form of a run total. So example if a team is batting .025 better than the opposing team, maybe we'd lend them an extra .3 runs in the final projection or something like that
@@GuyBostonSports that will definitely work. Thanks man!
MY MISTAKE, I RE-CHECKED THE FORMULAS, THEY ARE CORRECT. I JUST DIDN’T UNDERSTAND. AWESOME VIDEO AND BEGINNING MODEL GUY BOSTON. SORRY ABOUT THE PREVIOUS POST.
All good!
Thank you very much you are the only person who explains how to do everything thank you very much a good video
Thank you sir! I'll probably just automate the team names and starting pitchers based on the days' matchups as well.
Thank you so much for the video it is wonderful I can't wait to use it with the other model. I appreciate the time you put into this!
Definitely need a player props model; enjoying your content!
Just finished mine ❤❤❤please do one for upcoming NFL. GREAT JOB
Thank you brother great info
This is way more valuable than Gold, this is absolutely PLATINUM info!!! I so appreciate this channel!!
I appreciate that!
@@GuyBostonSports Yessir! No "Fade" here.
fantastic intro to mlb modeling, thank you!
A player prop one would be freaking dope!
Just watch and made this, thank you so much! Only question I have is how does it work with updating the stats? Does it do it automatically, or manually you have to do it? If so how often did you do it manually.
Hot Damn ! no one mean no one othe rthan you my guy, keep thsi up i will defintly fux with cha, you earned my respect , and my time for all ur videos on a daily. i will create this and still watch!!
Thanks for the video. I have learned so much about this model. Much appreciated.
Amazing detailed video. Looking forward to trying it out. Greetings from the UK. Thanks very much.
What website do you use to update game lines daily on sheets? Like what to put with the importhtml?
You’re a legend for this. Appreciate the great info! One question I have that maybe you mentioned in the video is do the stats get live updated to the model as the website updates the stats? Thanks!
yes it should be live updated! you dont need to touch it
@@GuyBostonSports With the data updating live, I assume that in the tables where the data is dynamic and the teams move up and down the table based on performance. For example, the bullpen stats table is arranged in order of highest ERA to lowest ERA, so as a team's ERA rises and falls relative to other teams in the league, then they will rise and fall in the table. The way you got around the names not matching issue, will that move up and down with the teams as well? or will you have to edit that every time there is movement in the table?
So I watched the video and created my own model off of it. Thank you! First model! However, there seems to be a glitch with mine and I can’t figure it out. It was all fine until last night, presumably when covers started updating its stats from the night. Now, I can’t pull the stats from covers. I keep getting an error message. Any thoughts? I retype the formula and it works. And then it glitches again the next time I open it.
Thank you brother, you are feeding the streets with free game! You are a G! Side note not sure if you touched up on it, But is there a way you can see Pitcher Projections of the current matchups?
this was great thank you! a couple questions.
Will the data automatically refresh when the 2024 season starts or would we have to manually update the links daily? Also will you be doing one for player props? Thank You!
this video is awesome man thank you so much. would definitely be interested in player prop or additional approaches!
I have learned a lot with a couple of your videos in mlb modeling,...can you make a video with soccer model? i'm seeing that many websites don't allow importhtml, i want something not to complicated, only add win, lose, over .5, over 1, over 2, corners and that's it...
Bro you are a gem true genius
I had to comment for you. This is great stuff. I appreciate everything u do ev
Appreciate that
Looks great! Have you thought about applying ballpark factors for your totals? It’s kind of an important thing I think
Great video...worth a sub to watch the rest of the modeling. Hoping you continue with the subscriber content for stuff like Hockey and NBA coming up.
Don't worry about what people comment, your Great at what you do, i appreciate you! "I seen the hater one" haha,, been rocking with you for a while now, and I'm UP, so keep doing what ur doin , We pick and choose, and by the way, I don't lose too many with you, js
Appreciate that!
Thank you so so much. It would be cool to see how to do player props if you get to that sometime
That fade me branding goes hard. Well done brother
This was super informative. Really appreciate you putting together this video. I learned a lot
Of course!
Thanks... Best video on bestball...
Very Helpful video, thank you.
we probably need to see this in action. MLB will be back tomorrow so this will be a good test and see what odds we can get when placing the recommended bets.
hello to you
I was able to watch your videos where you explained how to build the model on Excel. I would like to know if we could do it for football and make a video for us. Thank you for your attention.
Thanks!
Wow, thank YOU
tyring to go through this process with you step by step and im literally stuck on this vlookup part i keep getting error or N/A
Great video. Quick question, may have missed it. Does the model update every day based on previous days games? Or is this something the user will have to manually do? Thanks
it will auto update
@@GuyBostonSports you’re the fu*>ing MAN!
damn bro, thanks for doing this. sharing your knowledge. one of a kind. not a lot of people would do this. keep up the good work and stick those f’in bookies
Appreciate that!
Loving this model. Have you come across an issue where a pitcher that is in the table (razz) but will not populate in the drop-down pitchers list? Specifically, I am trying to bring in Dakota Hudson and he will not show up. Odd. Keep up the great work.
awesome video man! Have you done it on soccer games or could you do the same thing but with soccer, that would be awesome and I think many people would enjoy it!
Let’s get a player prop going, that would be cool to see how you break it down
great video. would love to see a player props one!
This is so amazing bro. Thank you
No problem!
have you used this recently? Under new team for bull pen stats it now shows #n/a for all of them and was wondering if any of the formulas would be messed up if i Just manually entered the names of the teams. thanks
Curious for the home and away teams, why you chose not to use the specific runs scored stats when the team was playing at home vs on the road instead of just full season regardless of where they played.
This is awesome
Great video, lots of value!
I would love a player props model
clear and captivating details
This was great.
razzball and covers now have different initials for arizona and washington so now the model is all thrown off and getting N/A everywhere, how to fix?
Why am I getting a “Formula parse error when I’m inserting the html on google sheets?
outstanding vid...keep up the good work
nba player props tutorial would be aces
I appreciate this 🙌🏾
The fade me shirt!!! Brooo, love the merch
Amazing! Can you create a similar one for the NBA or NFL
Question for anyone really, in many of the videos the final projection has been using "like" stats, such as runs or points so its pretty easy to come up with final score projections, but how do you handle say Rush yards per play, or 3 point %, and have that in your final projection as a positive or negative factor in a model and its affect on the final projection.
Team rankings isn’t importing the stats anymore. Is there another site to use for all sports or is there a way to get team rankings to work?
Im pretty sure they are still updating?
Yea i see that too, any other website? Thanks for video!
In what ways would an NFL model be different? Much appreciated
Having trouble when I copy and try to move over so it updates the next cell but I’m literally just copying and pasting. It’s not a new number just the same. On mac
Please help us common folks with your expertise in building the best model possible
Love the content! Could you please show us how to incorporate different stats that aren’t necessarily runs/points per game? How would we incorporate say turnovers in basketball or football, errors in baseball, as a percentage boost to the projected model scores?
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Quick question on the average weighting. Should the weighting numbers be symmetrical for the Away vs Home in the same category? For example, if I'm weighing more on the last 3 games for a team and I weigh the away team's runs scored over the last 3 games at 30%, should I weight the home team's runs allowed over the last 3 games as well? Thanks for the insight!
Is it okay for me to just use yours in the description? For some reason I'm having issues I followed your steps exactly and when I add certain teams I get N/A in some of the columns .
I’m having the same issue some teams work other teams don’t work. Did you ever fix this issue in your model ?
Has anyone tried adding in win percentage or any other stats ? I want to try to add in other stats and have multiple systems being used to calculate outcomes.
Any more to this series?
Thanks for the video. Do you have a good way of making the teams and the pitchers auto-update? That way you would have every matchup and every pitcher for that day ready to go when you wake up. This could make it easier to determine which matchups are a good bet and which ones you would avoid.
great video. Would love to see and NFL and Possibly NHL model.
Do you plan on creating one for NHL. If you do have a video on that, can you guide me in the right direction? Thank you, much appreciated!!
People I know would pay extreme cash for this information
why did everything just break????
Excellent work bruh
I created one for upcoming game for example Mets vs Cubs and pitchers are Severino and Assad. Messup my entire work bcs result came back N/A.
Awesome content. Question though, is there a way you can incorporate things such as day game vs night game (W/L record) and incorporate that into the averages. If that makes sense. Also things like wind blowing out vs blowing in? Little things like that 🤷🏼♂️
So for the run line when there is a home dog the formula will always just pick the away team, any ideas on how to tell it when the away team is the one that should be -1.5.
Just by adding 1.5 as the “home runline”
If the home is 1.5, that means the away is -1.5. Hope that helps
How would you get sheets to calculate a % based upon the score projection in order to have a line in my head vs what the books have? Lets say the model makes a underdog a favorite but the books have it reverse. I want to be able to see What I would make that line. Thanks!
Hey @Guy Boston Sports, do you have NFL and college sports models currently out with the beginning of the football season?
Working on the NFL currently. Hoping to have it for week 2
Hello I am going crazy trying to figure out how to add WRC+ to my model
@guy boston sports im trying to do jthis table for an nhl model. im running into a problem with my goals per game isnt the next coloum next to the teams. its like the b-f. do you know any formulas to work for this? would love for an NHL one
I followed along and some teams pulls an Error saying “did not find value ‘Milwaukee’ in vlookup evaluation
When I enter different teams I ge #N/A ALL across the row. No info. I entered manually again starting with away runs/game and still no info.
Wonder if you would consider tackling modeling using correlation. For example home margin of victory..Using 2 or 3 data sets and then first seeing how they correlate. Then how would you assign point value to each data set based on say positive correlation, if that is the case, to come up with a total score.
Sheets has a correlate function that does this work for you. The closer the value is to 1 or -1 the stronger the correlation is. The closer to 0 the value is the more weak the correlation is between the two sets of data
Does the information in data dump update everyday automatically?
Anything with the Import function will
@@GuyBostonSports thank you
Great video!
Any chance you could delve into how you turn this into a player prop model?
It is on the to-do!
Please make more videos like this
any tips on using the model for bets?
thanks man you are a genius! Does this model need to be updated every season? or can we use it for a long time?
Should be long term if the websites don’t completely change their format
Please do a player prop model
That would be like probably doing the opposite of this. Just enter player data I suppose
Quick question... i keep putting data in and outta 15 games(mlb) 7 of them say N/A did i do something wrong?
